Ethel froze when facing the accusation. âWell, little girl, how can I be blamed for this? Elijah is the one who has scandal with you, ok? Where do I mess with you?â
âWho asked you to leave halfway yesterday? I was almost trapped in the restaurant!â Esther was furious when she thought about yesterdayâs joke of calling Elijah as her husband turned to a fact today.
âWell, Iâm really sorry about yesterday as there was an emergency for me. Iâll repay you another day, by the way, whatâs wrong with you? The reporter said that you and Elijah got married?â Ethel didnât believe that it was true.
âItâs all scandal, scandal, do you understand?â Esther wouldnât admit it as it was a forced marriage. She didnât even go to the registration and she got the marriage certificate just like that, so it didnât count! She wouldnât admit it even if she died.
Ethel looked at her then looked at the large group of reporters that were blocked outside the lobby, âThis story doesnât seem groundless!â
âEthel, itâs all because of you!â Esther couldnât control herself cursing in a low voice.
âHow did I mess with you again?â Ethel felt so wronged.
âMiss Price, the president wants you to go to his office on the eighty-eighth floor!â Meanwhile, the receptionist suddenly showed up in front of them.
âMe?â Esther pointed at herself. âHow did he know I am here?â
âYes, the president called and asked you to go up!â
âIâm not going!â Esther refused directly.
Both Ethel and Mrs. Tyson at the reception desk froze as she dared to go against the presidentâs order, did she know the consequences?
Esther looked at Mrs. Tysonâs puzzled eyes and only then she realized she had overreacted, after all, how could she disobey the presidentâs order.
âOoh...alright, thanks Mrs. Tyson, Iâll go right now!â
But inside her heart, she was cursing Elijah as she didnât expect that he would know that she was here immediately.
âIâm going too!â Ethel was expecting something interesting.
âLetâs go together!â Both of them went into the lift.
When they reached the eighty-eighth floor, the secretary blocked two of them. âMr. Kirby, the president said that he would only see Miss Price alone!â
âWhy?â Ethel froze.
The secretary smiled faintly. âThis is the presidentâs order!â
Esther shrugged her shoulders, âIâm going in!â
But when she walked to the entrance of the presidentâs office, she was stunned suddenly as her heart tightened until the door opened. A tall man grabbed and dragged her inside the room.
Ethel took the opportunity to shout, âElijah, Iâm here too!â
But the answer he got was a thud of the door closing.
The secretary smiled faintly, shrugged her shoulders, and returned to her place.
Ethel murmured. âDamn, he must have been fallen in love, this is real!â
Esther who was dragged inside the room was stunned as the tall figure with a familiar aura enveloped her. And fierce kisses made her breathe hard.
Elijah sniffed the fresh fragrance of her mouth, kissing her again and again. His breath hit her face. His eagerness and tenderness made Estherâs whole body tremble.
âOoh...â Esther pushed him away because he kissed her as soon as she entered, âPervert, Elijah!â
âCall me husband!â He gasped and hugged her.
Esther struggled as she wanted to avoid his embrace, but she didnât expect him to carry her to the sofa. She squirmed up and down in his arms as she wanted to avoid and with a soft voice, she said, âPervert! You are a pervert! You are a madman...â
âDonât move, babe, otherwise youâll suffer the consequences...â Elijahâs voice was so soft.
âPervert!â Esther dared not to move again but looked serious and her voice muffled. âTell me, why did you call me here?â
âAre you besieged by the reporters?â He asked, âWhat did you say?â
âI didnât say anything!â She had been facing the flash lamp and kept her mouth shut.
âWhy donât you admit that you are Mrs. Perry?â
âWhy should I admit it?â She struggled, âPut me down!â
It wasnât that appropriate to sit on his lap while talking.
Elijah released her, âWhy didnât you admit it?â
âI wonât admit it even if I die! Iâm not willing to be Mrs. Perry!â Esther lifted her chin and glanced at Elijah arrogantly. What else could he do since she disdained to be Mrs. Perry!
Elijah didnât say anything but just said, âCome home for dinner as this is an order from Grandpa! Winnie and Hudson will also be there!â
âIâm not going!â Esther shook her head subconsciously. She didnât know how to face Hudson, especially now that she was married to this damn Elijah Perry for no reason!
She was angry, was she supposed to go just because his grandfather asked them to go back for dinner?
âIf you donât go, you will always be bothered by my grandpa in return, Iâm afraid that you wonât be able to stand it then!â Elijah warned kindly.
âWhat do you mean?â Esther froze.
âIf you don't go, I'm afraid that next time, you won't be just besieged by reporters!â
âYou mean that the reporters today were under the order of your grandfather?â Esther jumped onto Elijahâs executive chair and sat down while placing both her feet on the desk, acting as if she was the boss.
Elijah raised his head and looked at her. He was lost a while as usually he was the one who gives orders and when he looked at her sitting on his chair, he just felt this girl was so cute, âYes!â
âYour grandfather is so boring!â Esther pursed her lips. âWhy are you calling me here?â
âDidnât I tell you to stay at home?â He said.
âIâm here to settle a score with Ethel!â She lifted her gaze indifferently and glanced at Elijah who had a gentle face, âI hate you for keeping track of my whereabouts!â
Elijah was faintly stunned then went speechless.
Suddenly, Esther was attracted by a cute cartoon desk in the office. âOh my god, whose kidâs desk is this! It is so cute!â
Elijah took a glance. That was the desk which he asked someone to send it here today and it was for her. She probably had less than three hours of classes per day in the university and he wouldnât let her play around for the rest of the time. He just wanted her to finish her homework under his sight.
Esther simply walked to the desk which had a cute rabbit cartoon pattern on it and sat down on the chair which had the same pattern too. âThis is fun!â
She was still a kid after all!
Elijah sighed, âDo you like it?â
âWell, it is quite funny!â Esther said. âWhy is it in your office? Isnât it kind of not matching with your office?â
âItâs for you!â He said.
âFor me?â She was stunned.
He walked to her and leaned on the desk while glancing at her. âYou are my child!â
Estherâs face blushed, âAre you taking advantage of me?â
He pulled her up and embraced her tightly for a while without saying anything. There was a great desire in his mind to say something, but in the end, he was just hugging her. Yet, Esther heard a heart leaping against his chest.
âHey! Let me go!â Esther coldly pushed his body away, but he didnât want to let her go, instead, he held her, even tighter domineeringly then made himself sit on the cartoon chair. Esther once again sat on his lap.
Esther frowned at his face uncomprehendingly as she tried to see his intention from his face, but she couldnât.
He looked at her too, but his voice was soft, âWhat are you looking at?â
He was always holding her so why shouldnât she always look at him?
Esther suddenly spoke, âYou prepared this desk in your office not because you want me to be with you even after class, right?â
His eyes showed a hint of appreciation. âThank God, you are not too stupid!â
âWhy?â She asked again in a silly way. âI donât want to see you!â
âYou have to put up with me even if you don't want to see me!â He said.
âYou are unreasonable!â Esther pouted to show her complaint. âAlthough the table is cute, and I like it very much but I feel sick at the sight of you!â
Elijah raised his eyebrows, âDo I make you lose your appetite?â
She looked at him, although he was very good-looking, not the look that would cause people to lose appetite, she still ignored her conscience and said, âYes!â
âArenât wives supposed to be with their husbands?â He asked rhetorically.
âWho is your wife?â
âYou!â
âIâm not! You are the one who forces me to do so! Do you think you are powerful? Do everyone have to listen to you and obey you?â
âI donât think I am...â
âThen why do you keep imposing your wishes on others?â
âWill I still be considered as imposing my wishes on you if you obey my order obediently?â Esther looked at him in anger.
It felt like he was really sick as he kept on using the question as an answer to reply to me! âThe question is why I have to listen to you! I don't want!â
Elijah stared at her coldly as he didnât feel that there was a problem with his answer. Who would Esther listen to if she didnât listen to him! âItâs fine for others not to listen to me, but not you!â
âWhy?â
âBecause you are my wife!â
âIâm not!â
âYou are!â
âIs you who force me! You a vile man!â She was annoyed when she thought that he applied the marriage certificate by himself, âIâm not someone you can bully or order around, donât try to frame me!â
Elijah was furious and his face looked serious when he looked at her little imperious face. He stared at her for a long time but finally decided to put up with her and said, âLetâs go for dinner first!â
âIâm not going!â Esther obstinately twisted her head which meant that she didnât want to listen to him! She wanted to pass the message to him that he should stop acting like a boss in front of her!
âEsther...â Elijah said in a low voice, there was no more annoyance in his eyes and he sounded doting. The anger provoked by Esther had long disappeared when he looked at the pair of big eyes on her face which were staring at him provocatively.
He reached out and wrapped his hand tightly around her but when Esther was about to refuse, he embraced her even tighter and said, âEsther, no one can refuse my order! Be obedient and donât make me angry!â
âYou are the one who is making me angry!â Esther was so angry inside that she felt that no matter what she said, he would just ignore everything and send her back to where she was!
He lowered his head to seek her lips, but she dodged left and right to refuse and said, âI donât want you to kiss me, I donât love you and I hate you...â
But she was still kissed by Elijah. The tip of his tongue reached in and tangled with hers. After a while, he was finally willing to let her go with a gasp, âEsther, do you really hate me?â
âHumph!â Esther turned her face away and asked herself. Did she really hate him?
The thought gave her some headache, so she gritted her teeth. âYes, just hate, I hate you to death!â
Elijah looked at the time and it was almost time, âLetâs go shopping for some clothes!â
âWhy do we need to buy clothes?â
âTo go home for dinner!â
âWhy do we have to buy clothes when we go home for dinner?â
âEsther, why do you have so many questions?â
âHumph!â She simply shut up, but she was still pouting.
He leaned forward and kissed her lips again, âNo pouting, from now on, I will kiss you for every pouting!â
