Fated To The Alpha by Jessica Hall Chapter 3 âYou can sit,â he says, nodding toward the chair beside me. I stare at it before sitting on the edge of it looking back toward the door where my parents were waiting outside.
Turning back I find him watching me again. âYour name is Katya?â He says pronouncing correctly, most people donât the first time.
âYes, Alphaâ
âYou can call me Ezra,â he says and I nod.
âHow old are you?â
â17â I tell him and he nods looking at some documents which I see are my motherâs and fatherâs paperwork along with my birth certificate. He picks it up looking at it.
âYou turn 18 soon? You will be able to find your mate, thatâs excitingâ he states.
I say nothing, no one will want me, I was basically human with the added difference of heightened senses.
âYou go to school, I take it?â I nod chewing on my thumbnail.
âLast year?â
âYes I finish this year, well supposed toâ
âYouâll be finishing schoolâ he states leaving no room for argument. I press my lips together.
âYou donât like school?â
âDoes anyone like school?â I ask in return and he smiles.
âI liked school, surprised you didnât considering, you are a betaâs daughterâ he says.
Yeah school was great till they found out I was a freak I think to myself.
âYour parentâs already explained your reason for leaving, that you had a run in with the Alphaâs daughter and your mother hit her?â He asks. My mother was taking the blame, I kept my mouth shut to stop the risk of being caught out in a lie although technically that was true just not the reason we left. I nod.
âGood enough for me, I canât stand Alpha Jackson prick should be put downâ Alpha Ezra says not even trying to hide his dislike for my old Alpha.
âCome hereâ he says standing up. I jump out of my seat taking a step back. His eyes snapping to mine.
âI wonât hurt you, I would never hurt youâ he says, holding his hand out and I place mine in his. Tingles spread across my palm and I jerked my hand back looking at it.
âSorry must be staticâ he says, grabbing my hand again with a smile playing on his lips making him look even more gorgeous. He pulls me toward him.
His hand was warm yet the strange tingling sensation didnât stop. I looked up at him thinking it was odd only to find he was watching me again. He was tall and I only came up to the centre of his chest. He was wide to all hard muscle as he towered over me.
He bites his wrist offering it to me and I stare at it. I notice two glasses stained with his blood on the desk making me look at him, he wants me to drink his blood from him.
âTimes ticking little one, hurry upâ he says, pulling me closer and wrapping his arm around my waist before bringing his wrist to my lips. I grabbed his wrist and I could taste his saliva on his wrist, his blood surprisingly didnât taste bad, not something I would go out drinking, I definitely would suck if I were a vampire but it didnât make me gag, was sweet tasting or maybe that was the taste of his skin I wasnât sure.
He pulls his wrist away but doesnât let go, his arm tightening around my waist. His voice below my ear.
âYou now need to pledge to meâ I nod, the heat from his hard chest pressed against my back seeping into me, warming my skin.
â I Katya Hartley, pledge my loyalty and my life to Alpha Ezraâ I stop not knowing his last name, I look over my shoulder at him, his face so close I am stunned by his intoxicating scent as I inhale deeply. âPierce,â he whispers, his lips almost brushing mine. He was so close.
âI Katya Hartley ,pledge my loyalty and my life to Alpha Ezra Pierce of Black Creek Packâ as soon as the last word left my lips searing pain exploded in my head making me drop as I clutched it, his grip tightening around me preventing me from hitting the floor in a heap. The chattering of my old pack, every word I ever heard flitting through my head loudly making my ears rings and a scream to leave my lips.
Just as suddenly as it came it stopped like the snap of a rubber band. âYouâre okay. Itâs over nowâ Alpha Ezraâs voice flits through my head making me look up at him. He smiles back at me.
âYou good for me to let you go?â He asks and I look down to see both his arms wrapped around me just under my heavy breast. My face heating up with embarrassment realising he was the only reason I was upright before quickly becoming aware of his hands on my body. Great, I was crushing on my Alpha.
I step away and he lets go, I watch his eyes glaze over before my mother and father rush in, he must have been talking to them through the Pack link.
âYou okay, see youâre fine. I told you it wouldnât be so badâ my father says fussing over me. I slap their hands away at their fussing. I wasnât a baby.
Sometimes they could be a little embarrassing.
.
âTonight you can stay in the pack house, tomorrow I will show you to your new home. May I ask why you requested one so far from everyone?â He asks curiously.
âKat doesnât get along well with others, she prefers being by herselfâ my mother says and the Alpha, seems shocked for a second.
âAnd why is that?â He says staring down at me.
â I just like being alone,â I shrug. He presses his lips in a line. Before looking at my parents.
âTomorrow you get settled into your new place and I have already enrolled Katya in school this morning. So she can start on Monday, you can skip the pack run on Friday and both meet me here Monday morning for work detailsâ
âPack run?â I ask and my mother nudges me with her elbow which doesnât go unnoticed by the Alpha.
âPack runs are compulsory, why is that a problem?â He asks and I duck my head down.
âNo problem at allâ my father says, holding out his hand to the Alpha.
âHow are you with training teenage students?â The Alpha suddenly asks my mother.
âI trained my daughter mostly older she-wolves but would give it a goâ
âInteresting, we do need an extra hand at the highschool so you can keep an eye on Katya as wellâ he says and my mother seemed excited about the idea.

âMy Beta will show you where you are staying for the nightâ he says before walking around to sit at his desk.
