Emily dressed herself in a light summer dress with a denim jacket for the day out with her father and bestfriend.
"EMILY! DAISY! ARE YOU READY?"
"COMING PAPA"
"YES!"
The two of them linked arms and came down the stairs.
Daisy was wearing a loose white t-shirt with a pair of dark blue pants. After the talk with Harry, she realized that one thing was for sure and that was that she had a crush on her bestfriend. Daisy hoped it would go away because she didn't want to change the way she acted aroumd Emily because that might change their relationship. The way Emily knew her, even if she changed her attitude the slightest bit, Emily would know something was off.
"Wow ladies! Looks like there are gonna be many eyes on you today" Harry complimented.
"We're 13 papa. We have flat bodies with no personality. No one's gonna have their eyes on us" Emily rolled her eyes.
"I can confirm about the flat bodies, no offence but I beg to differ about the personality. You both got great personality"
"Thanks...lets go shall we"
Harry sat in the driver's seat and Emily in the passenger's seat. Daisy sat back and looked at the father and daughter just talking. It was after so long that Emily seemed to be genuinely smiling. Daisy didn't want this to change the slightest bit. Only she knew how miserable Emily had been due to all that had happened.
"Tell him about that Mr. Warren" Daisy rolled her eyes.
"What Mr. Warren?" Harry asked at the angry tone of Daisy.
"Well, he's my maths teacher. He's always looking very creepily at me. And I don't know why but he's always calling out my name and he practically forces me to sit on the first bench in his class" she eolled her eyes.
"EMILY! Why don't you complain?! Does your dad know about this?"
"I don't complain because I could be wrong and hes hasn't really do-"
"You aren't wrong. I've seen him. Its like he mentally undresses you or something" Daisy chipped in
"And no Dad doesn't know. He'll probably freak out and punch the man or kill him even"
"Emily you gotta complain. You don't wanna wait till something happens. He sounds like a pedophile to me. Also, you tell about this to your dad as soon as you get a chance to. Yes that man might not be doing something now, but what if in the future he does? Your dad should also know"
"Yes papa. I'll tell him"
After 5 more minutes they arrived at the Rodeo Drive. Harry parked the car and followed the girls as the girls browsed the stores from outside.
"This is so expensive. I don't think I will be able to afford any of this" Daisy laughed.
"Yes, but you don't have to. I will pay. Buy whatever you want" said Harry from behind them
"What? No, I can't do that. My parents will murder me plus its all against my moral principles"
"Don't worry about it. You don't need to tell your parents the real price and screw your moral principles for a day. Get nice dresses and shoes and accessories. You don't get to book something here. You like something, you buy it or else it will be gone the next day" suggested Harry.
"I- I don't-"
"C'mon Daisy! Think of it as your birthday shopping sponsored by papa."
"When's your birthday?"
"Next month"
"Perfect then. C'mon now, I saw a really beautiful green satin dress in here" said Harry as he lead the way inside a big shop.
They browsed through the stores for about three hours. As much as the girls were interested in shopping, Harry was too. Harry picked out dresses for them to try on, purses and shoes and accessories to match. After the whole shopping event, all three of them had at least 5 bags belonging to each of them.
"That was AMAZING. After so long I shopped on my own choices. Phew. That felt good, ladies?" Asked harry as he set down the bags in the trunk of the car.
"Thank you so much Harry. Specially for that sequined dress. That was an amazing choice" said Daisy.
"Yeah papa. Thank you so much" said Emily with a bright smile, giving her father a side hug.
They were about to get in the car when someone called out for them.
"Hey guys!"
Harry thought it was the fans so he got in the car quickly before anyone could notice him. Emily turned around to look at her father's figure approaching her.
"DAD!?"
"HEY SWEETIE! HOW ARE YOU?" Louis embraced his daughter in a tight hug. His eyes subconsciously closed as her lips curled up in a beautiful smile.
"Dad! What are you doing here?"
"I have to record a song sample tomorrow so I thought of joining you guys today."
"Louis, couldn't leave your daughter for one day with me?" Harry rolled his eyes.
"Get in the car Em.. Its not that Harry. I was in the city so thought about dropping by... oh hey Daisy"
"Hi Louis" Daisy greeted back.
"How'd you even find us here?"
"Well Emily texted me that you guys are going shopping at the rodeo Drive. And knowing you, I knew it wouldn't take less than 3-4 hours." Louis said as he seated himself in the passenger seat.
"This summer was supposed to be mine. I had to spend time with Emily. Why are you intruding?" Harry whined as he started driving
"She's my daughter too and I'm not the one who walked out"
"That's because I was mad at you not at Emily."
"C'mon Harry, I apologized... and its not like its only my fault" Louis rolled his eyes.
Emily saw the scene unfold. She still couldn't make out what they were mad about. Usually, it was her Papa the soft one and the rational one, but right now he seemed to be someone different. She could see that her dad was trying his best to make peace rationally. It was weird how they balanced each other. They knew each other so best that they knew how to act when the other one was mad. Emily hadn't really seen her parents fight that much specially not this big fight but it surprised her how Louis was the soft one right now and Harry was the one throwing tantrums.
As they reached Santa Monica Pier, Louis's and Harry's bickering continued.
"Wow, they don't really shut up, do they?" Daisy asked as she saw the couple argue back and forth.
"Naah. Anyways I'm going to get myself an icecream. Want one?"
"Sure. You wanna ask your parents?"
"Dad? Papa?" Emily called to them.
"C'mon Louis we all know-"
"Well I don't. Why don't you tell me? I'm tired now Harry!"
"DAD! PAPA! Emily yelled
"Emily... what?" Asked Louis in a soft tone.
"Want icecream?"
"Sure... I'll get it. What flavors?"
"Cookie dough"
"Cookie dough" said Emily and Daisy at the same time. They chuckled at each other.
"Yours is the usual, I presume?" Asked Louis pointing to Harry.
"Yeah" said Harry with a pout, mad that Louis was being such a cute boyfriend when he was mad at him.
The four of them sat at a bench eating their icecream.
"So Emily, how much did your papa spoil you today?"
"Very much hehe"
"Yeah. Too much" said Daisy.
"Hmmm. Someone needs training in parenting. You gotta teach your kids the value of money. This was totally wrong Harry" Louis shook his head.
"It wasn't me who threw her daughter a million dollar birthday party"
"THAT WAS ONCE"
"Well I don't do this everyday either" sneered Harry.
"FERRIS WHEEL, EH? I don't think we came to Santa Monica Pier just to eat icecream and fight. Daisy and me are going to the ferris wheel and you two have to too"
"I'm not going with him"
"Yeah, me neither"
"Yes you both are. Now while you are up there, I want you to talk to each other without fighting because we all know you both love each other and are miserable without each other. And your bickering and the fact that our family is falling apart is killing me" Emily huffed as she stomped off towards the ferris wheel.
Daisy stood in front of them with her hands crossed.
"What?" Harry asked at the 13 year old in front of him who stood expectantly.
"I'm waiting for you two to get up. Emily is getting the tickets and I'm making sure that you get on the ferris wheel"
"When did we adopt another one?" Louis mumbled.
"Since none of you paid heed to Emily. She needed to talk to someone. C'MON NOW"
Louis and Harry obeyed her and followed her to the giant ferris wheel. Emily handed them four tickets and kept four for herself. She got on the ferris wheel with Daisy after Louis and Harry got on one. Thankfully no one recognized them throughout the day.
"Hey, you okay?" Asked Daisy in a soft tone as the ferris wheel started moving.
"Yeah. Just tired of their quarrels now. I mean obviously they madly love each other. I don't understand why the fuck do they deny it"
'That's what happens when you are in love. Like a ferris wheel you know, once your up and enjoying the view, next thing you know, you are at the bottom. I guess they are just going through the bottom phase" said Daisy.
"I can't believe you're only 13. Damn how many deeper thoughts you have up there in your brain"
Daisy smiled a little and looked at Emily longingly "more than you can imagine"
"Oh-I erm, the lights are beautiful, ain't it?"
"Yeah. Very beautiful, LOOK!" Daisy pointed towards Louis and Harry's booth.
She could distinctly seem them kiss each other.
Harry's hands cupped Louis's face and Louis had his hands in Harry's hair.
"Fuck, I missed doing that" breathed Louis once they pulled off.
"Me too. Guess the ferris wheel worked, huh?"
"Yeah. I'm sorry again"
"I'm sorry too Lou. I don't know what came over me... but I can't come back to London. Its not you. I don't think my management will allow but I'll visit every time I gett a few days off. I have recor-"
"Shut up, will you? Now, is Daisy gay or something?"
"Oh my God. Kind of. She doesn't know where she falls on the spectrum. She's confused. She doesn't know if she's attracted to boys, or girls, or both, or if she's pansexual"
"Wow. Kinda knew it though. I think she likes our Emily"
"She DOES. Last night, Emily was asleep on the couch and were talking and she told she had a crush on Emily and she was confused and what not" said Harry.
"You know, if our daughter is gay, I won't let her be in the closet for long otherwise she'll be stuck in the closet forever like us" sighed Louis
"Yeah.... I love you Louis"
"I love you too Harry"
