JUST YOUR SILHOUETTE, MAKES ME BREAK A SWEAT
______ die with you.
WALKING THROUGH THE HALLS, Kenji and Monica talked and laughed amongst one another. Since they met a few days ago, the two girls had gotten extremely close, surprisingly having many of the same interests.
"Okay so," Monica smiled mischievously making Kenji groan, she knew what the current topic was about to be
"You been avoiding talking about it... but I gotta know the tea. What the fuck happened between you and Ghost Saturday?"
As they entered the cafeteria, Kenji failed to think of any words that could describe her current feelings towards the brute of a boy.
"Nothing happened. He just a weird, self centered dickhead with a big ass ego."
"The way you slapped the pies outta him, whew." Monica said, releasing a hard breath "He must've said some shit that really had you fucked up."
Kenji nodded in agreement, her eyes scanning every lunch table, searching for an empty one to claim for today.
"We finna sit with Reece and nem'..."
Kenji bursted into laughter, crossing her arms over her chest "You messy as fuck bro, word to my motha'. We was literally just talking shit about this boy now we finna go spend lunch with his friends?"
"Girl fuck Ghost. They my friends too and now they're your friends as well. Plus, I don't even think he came today."
Kenji released a long sigh as she followed Monica over to the round table, quickly beginning to regret ever even coming to school.
"Yoo li' Moe Moe!" Robbie greeted with a goofy smile, holding his hand out to which Monica disgustingly swatted at it
"Stop calling me that ugly." Monica insulted, her face scrunching in distaste as Reece and Hakeem snickered quietly
"I see niggas is movin' mad wocky today." Reece commented, pointing his finger accusingly
Placing her purse down, Moe clasped her hands together "I'm just not for the bull shit today like I'm on bad timing with anybody. Anybody can get this work like a nine to five... even you."
At the tone of threat, Reece drew his head back confusedly with furrowed eyebrows "Wait what?"
Robbie eyed Kenji as she stood there awkwardly, watching the group interact with one another "Wassup Kenz. You can't say hey now?" He joked
Kenji raised an eyebrow at the new nickname but surprisingly, she liked it. The girl had never experienced having real friends so when a friendship stamp of that kind happened, she appreciated it.
Kenji shook her head, twisting one of her locs nervously "Hey ya'll." She sat next to Robbie, giving him a small hug
"Ooo sis you smell like vanilla and chocolate. What you wearing?" The playful boy asked in a girlish high pitched voice
Kenji laughed, "Cloud by Ariana Grande."
"You should've ignored that sassy ass nigga." Hakeem commented, rolling his eyes playfully "He was trynna be funny gang."
"Shut the fuck up bitch." Robbie insulted
Furrowing his eyebrows, Hakeem glared "Nigga I'll boom you, fuck is you on? Actin' tough and shit."
Reece chuckled, "With what gun?"
"Yo Reeces pieces stop being dayroom. That shit ain't cool." Robbie shook his head "What if he do gotta gun?"
"I'm on your fucking side. Bitch you so weird, real spill." His face scrunched, releasing a breath of irritation before simply closing his eyes and putting his head down on the table
Monica's eyes darted between the three boys with a solemn look adorning her face "Are ya'll done?"
Throwing his hands in the air, Robbie chuckled "I been done. I can't argue with any nigga that ain't in my tax bracket, on King David."
Hakeem suddenly choked on the cheesy nachos he was biting into, immediately glaring at his friends "Boy you broke ass shit, word to my 'motha. Stop playing with me."
"Niggas don't even be knowing what a fucking tax bracket is but wanna open they yapper like they top dog in this bitch." Reece waved his hand dismissively
"Ight bet!" Robbie stood to his feet abruptly, he was known for always causing an unnecessary scene "Band for band, right now!"
"Tell me the definition of a tax bracket."
"Show me a thousand dollars!"
"Nigga define tax bracket."
Clapping his hands with a clear attitude, Robbie pursed his lips "I'll do that when you show me one thouwow."
In the midst of the childish bickering, Kenji quietly scooted over to Monica, cupping the other girls ear so she could whisper "We should take this time to leave while they're distracted."
Monica nodded in agreement, both girls standing up at the same time and rushing to whatever lunch line was shortest, anything to get away from the endless arguing that the boys always seemed to participate in. Literally, they would argue about the shape of the Earth if ever given the opportunity.
"Yurrr Moe."
Kenji's eyebrows knitted together confusedly at the voice, turning around to be approached by a grinning female. Jamie Daniels or JaJa. Standing at 5'9, Jamie was the best player on the girls basketball team (after Monica). She was dark-skinned with a pretty face and dark ginger locs that stopped right at her shoulders. Some would say she resembled the popular New-York rapper, Jenn Carter, but she thought otherwise.
"JaJaaa. Wassup, my heart?" Monica beamed, holding her arms open with intentions of a hug
After they let go, Jamie's eyes flickered over to the quiet, awkward standing girl next to them "Hey Kenji." She waved with a small smile "You look pretty today. I like your shoes, they hard as fuck."
"Thank you. I like yours too." Kenji replied, blushing and gazing down at the Air Jordan 4's adorning her feet
Watching the interaction, Moe made a silent 'O' with her mouth at the obvious flirting. Though she knew her fellow basketball player was just a romantic and overly flirtatious person, this seemed different. This seemed passionate like there was some history involved.
Turning back towards her friend, Jamie gripped onto the backpack that hung loosely on her shoulder "I just came over to ask if we had practice today?"
Shaking her head, "No. Coach Von had a family emergency so she canceled it."
"Fasho. Bye Moe." Jamie glanced at Kenji, giving the girl her famous panty-dropping smirk "Bye Ken..."
Moving up in the line, Monica laughed "Ight now Jenn Carter. Don't go stealing my boo, we gone have to fight bout' this one." She winked, earning a slight shove from the obviously flustered and embarrassed girl next to her
"Chill on me. Only reason niggas compare me to her is because we both dark-skin, got dreads, and masculine looking." Jamie said, shaking her head with a breathless chuckle before walking away
Once the girl was out of earshot, Monica turned towards her friend with wide eyes and a questionable facial expression. Instead of entertaining the obvious curiosity, Kenji simply chuckled and moved forward in the line to grab a pre-made tray off of the counter and wave to the smiling lunch lady.
Grabbing an apple, Monica quickly followed behind, her nose scrunched disgustingly "Oh bitch... you not slick."
Kenji laughed, "Don't do that cause' there is nothing going on between us. She just tried to get with me a few months ago," Pausing and narrowing her eyes "And maybe she did a little eating in the backseat of her car..."
"My God!" Moe whispered harshly, hands clasping together in surprise "Was it even good?"
"Yeah, just wasn't better than... Siah?" Kenji groaned, staring at the table as they walked closer to it, only to find the one person she'd been trying to avoid and in her opinion, she was doing pretty well at it "Girl you said he didn't come to school today."
Monica shrugged, "I just be talking sometimes." Strutting towards her other friends whom sat together, seeming as though they were still arguing
Slowly following behind, Kenji silently cursed her entire existence. Even so, she was thankful that Ghost's back was turned away from her so she didn't have to deal with his painful stare and brooding eyes that flooded her dreams.
Placing her tray down, Kenji sat between Robbie and Hakeem, ignoring how Ghost looked at her with raised eyebrows before focusing his attention back on the IPhone being held by his right hand while the left hand fidgeted with some strings attached to his green, camouflage Bape hoodie.
And though she hated to say it, much less even think it
this boy is so fucking fine
Interrupting her sinful thoughts was the loud beep that emitted from the intercom, sounding out in the entire school "Blake Vega and Kenji Carson, please report to room 415. Blake vega and Kenji Carson, please report to room 415."
"Noooo. What ya'll did?" Robbie instigated, darting his eyes between the two
"Dummy, that's just Gray class. They ain't in trouble." Reece rolled his eyes
"Aye boy, watch ya mouth when speaking to your father." Hakeem joked in a proper tone, immediately earning a loud and obnoxious laugh from Robbie, Monica only chiming in to bark insults at them
"I am not this nigga son yo. Keem you built like a body builder with your big buff ass so shut the fuck up." Reece retorted, "Ya'll really be on dick."
As another argument began, Ghost and Kenji held a tension filled staring contest but when she opened her mouth to speak, he got up and trudged away from her and everyone else, towards the cafeteria doors.
Could this day get any worse?
-
Walking through the empty corridor, seeming as every student was either in class or at lunch, their footsteps echoing in sync. A loud cloud of awkward silence hovered over the two but that was soon to come to an end. Kenji never could hold her tongue when she felt overwhelmed.
"Why did you say that to me... at the party?"
He wasn't going to acknowledge her question. Truly, in all honesty he was going to ignore the girl and keep walking but his heart squeezed painfully at the sight of her big, hopeful eyes.
He knew she'd have a mental battle over the embarrassment that would follow her if there wasn't a response, so putting his pride aside, he gave one.
"I don't know but I'm sorry for it." Ghost shrugged, continuing to type carelessly on the phone in his hand
Kenji squinted her eyes up at his tall figure, anger immediately coursed through her veins. She wanted an answer, a good one, one that would explain why he could be so cruel to her for no reason and the answer he gave just wasn't going to be enough.
"The fuck you mean?" Kenji hissed, snatching his phone from him angrily "Nigga you got ten seconds to find out before I black on you."
Breathing in calmly, eyes closed "Give me my shit bro. I'm not in the mood..."
Chuckling sarcastically, she rolled her eyes "And? I wasn't in the mood to get my feelings crushed over something that happened years ago but you still did it."
Ghost's tongue poked irritably at his cheek as he glanced down the hallway, making sure the two were still alone. Seeming as everyone was either in class or having lunch in the cafeteria.
Kenji's eyebrows furrowed, placing her hands on her hips with a clear attitude "Bitch you finna piss me off with thi-"
She was interrupted by a harsh shove to the wall and a rough hand being held tightly against her neck, shutting her up immediately. He wasn't choking her hard enough to where she couldn't breathe but it definitely applied pressure.
Bending down to her height, Ghost's signature gold chain dangled above "No. You finna piss me off cause' you keep fucking talking to me like Imma bitch."
With the intimate position they were in, Kenji could hardly focus on his words. Instead, she focused on how perfect his hand felt around her neck and how her entire being was burning with unknown need.
Even though it wasn't obvious, Ghost began to feel the same unsure pleasure. It only reminded him of what happened between the two when they were just sixteen years old. Apparently being told by the sudden strain he felt in his pants and the unexpected dryness in his mouth.
"Stop fucking playing with me, Akina." Ghost threatened while pressing his body further onto hers
And to be real, this only fueled Kenji's growing desire. Her breath hitched at the way he said her middle name which only ever happened when he was angry. She felt as though she would explode if this continued on any longer
"You can have that lil ass attitude cause' in all honesty I was dead wrong for that shit at the party but you pushing it now. Ian never called you out your name before so don't do it to me, the fuck I look like?"
Ghost gripped her chin, forcing eye contact between them "You hear me?"
"Yeah." Kenji mumbled, gulping when she felt his other hand slide down her back and over her butt
"Say it." He whispered softly, snaking his arm around her waist
"I hear you, Siah."
Goosebumps trailed across her skin when he backed away from her. His eyes shamelessly trailing up and down her body, making the girl shudder nervously. She felt completely naked under his hard gaze.
"Te extrañé, duraznos."
Kenji's eyebrows furrowed in confusion "Huh?"
"I said, give me my phone." That was clearly a lie
Kenji did as he said, fiddling her thumbs together awkwardly "Did you mean it?"
"No. That night would never be a mistake, I think about it almost everyday. I'd do it all over again if you gave me the chance." He answered truthfully
Biting down on her lower lip, she gave him one last glance before continuing on down the hallway, of course with him slowly trailing behind.
