Chapter 125 Who Drugs Me?
Victor didnât strike others as a reliable man in usual days. However, he was serious and countable when it came to critical moments like this.
His question directly awakened Chaim.
Chaim thought, Iâve never investigated what happened back then.
That night, someone tampered with my drink. Reid asked for leave back then and wasnât around me. I endured the discomfort and went back to my room. Just as I informed someone, the door to the room was pushed open by a woman. The woman knew me and called my name. She said that she liked me for a long time.
I was drugged, and my physical reaction got the upper hand. When the woman threw herself at me, I surrendered.
Besides, at that time, Eric had been forcing me to marry. Therefore, that night, I simply accepted fate. Since she said she liked me, I figured that it might as well be her.
I donât really remember much about that night. Under the influence of the drugs, I lost control, and I didnât even know when it started or when it ended.
All I know is that when I woke up the next morning. Samara was lying next to me.
I took a shower, sat on a chair, had a cigarette, and then decided to marry her.
I proposed to marry her indeed. And Samara also said I didnât need to take responsibility. However, I thought she was playing hard to get. I didnât say much and stuck to my decision. Then we got married.
Married life didnât exactly change anything for me. We lived together, but I barely went back home.
I always thought that what happened that night was Samaraâs plot. Therefore, during those three years, I never had sex with her.
It was the first time someone set me up successfully. Knowing that she loved me, I was so determined that I wouldnât let her get what she wanted.
But now, Victor is saying that Samara might have been a victim that night as well.
Iâve never thought about this. After what happened, I wanted to marry Samara so that she could be the shield. I never asked Reid to do some digging about how this had happened in the first place.
It has been four years, and now. Victor suddenly brings this up. It occurs to me that Iâve never investigated and verified what happened back then.
Victor had known Chaim for years. When he saw Chaimâs expression changing, he knew he had hit the nail, though Chaim didnât say anything.
Victor stared at Chaim for a while and felt that Chaim looked so pitiful, as if someone had dumped him.
Victor felt bad for Chaim. He raised his hand and patted Chaim on the shoulder. âDonât think too much. The most important task for you now is to find out what happened back then.â
In fact, Victor hadnât finished his sentence. He wanted to tell Chaim that he didnât think Samara was the chief culprit regarding what had happened back then. After all, Samara was so determined to divorce Chaim, and she was so cold to Chaim now.
However, Victor chose not to say it. He sighed silently and thought, I am too kind to say it out loud. I donât want to make Chaim more upset.
Chaim glanced at Victor, put the glass on the table, stood up, and walked out.
Victor hurriedly chased after Chaim. âHey! Where are you going?â
With a cold face, Chaim ignored Victor and dialed Reidâs number with his phone in hand.
It was past eleven oâclock at night, and Reid suddenly received Chaimâs call. Reid immediately woke up. âMr. Humphrey?â
âFind out who drugged me four years ago!â
Reid was stunned for a second, and he soon came back to his senses. He wasnât drowsy at all. âOK, Mr. Humphrey, Iâm on it!â
After saying that, Reid jumped up from the bed. Grabbing his phone, he started to look into what happened four years ago right away.
