Dave's POV
"...that's what I propose" I finished
"That is outrageous!" He snapped
"Mr. Marcos, your company has gone bankrupt and you expect me to invest in it. Would you if places were switched?" I asked "So I'm giving you the best deal you can get by making you vice president when I buy the company"
He was soo furious. His breathing was filled with rage.
"Or you could leave my office and keep searching for an investor, one I'm sure you'll never get" I glanced at my watch "I have a meeting now. I'll see you some other time, or not. The offer still stands" he got up walking out of the office and slamming the door behind
"Sir, you have a meeting with Mr. Thompson" Claire said
"I know Claire, thank you" I said into the intercom
"It's been rescheduled to his home sir" Claire said
I have to leave the office?
Darn.
"Thank you Claire. Tell Phil to get the car set" I said
"Done" she said
I smiled.
She was very efficient.
I got up and went out of my office.
Claire looked up as I shut the door
"You have a seven o'clock appointment at Montero with Mr. Connor" she said "More of a dinner"
"My dad?" I was confused
"Yes sir" she said
"Okay" I said "I'll go straight there after I see Mr. Thompson"
"Of course sir" she said
I walked towards the elevator
"Make an appointment for tomorrow when Mr. Marcos calls"
"Yes sir" she managed to say before the elevator door closed
It opened to the lobby. I got out and went towards the car
"Good day sir" Phil greeted
"Well done, Phil" I smiled as I got into the car
Phil got into the car
"To the Thompson's" he said
I smiled.
Claire was efficient.
"Yes Phil" I confirmed
I was on my phone all through the ride to the Thompson's.
Few minutes later
"We're here sir" Phil said
I opened the door and got out.
Looking at the mansion in front of me. It was almost like the older Thompson's mansion. I walked up the stairs to the front door that looked more like a wooden gate.
It opened before I could knock
"Good day Mr. Connor." Erin, the butler greeted
"Good day Erin" I entered the house
"Mr. Thompson will see you in his study" he said
"Thank you" I gave a curt nod and went to the Thompson's office
I knocked when I arrived in front of the office's door
"Come in" I heard
I opened the door and entered. I closed it before taking note of my surroundings.
"Dad?" I asked, surprised that he was here
"Hello son" he greeted, sitting in front of Ceaser Thompson and Jules Thompson
I walked towards them
"Mr. Thompson" I gave a curt nod "Ma'am" I greeted her
She smiled at me
"Dave how are you?"
"Same as always" I said
"Have a seat" Ceaser said
I sat down beside my dad, turning to him
"I was suppose to meet you at Montero"
"Change of plans" dad said
"Okay" I said, facing the Thompson's "Is there a problem?"
"Only if you think otherwise" Ceaser said
I raised my brow.
"Your dad informed us that you don't know the full story" Jules said
"About?" I asked
"Why you got the company seven years ago" Ceaser said
I looked at my dad and back at them
"I was told it was to help my dad with his company" I said "In exchange of my freedom"
Jules and Ceaser smiled
"Well the time has come" Jules said
"I'm not following" I said
"Our daughter is graduating in a week. She's meant to take over the company but she'll have to get married to you in order to have the upper hand"
"So I'm gonna have a shared partnership with her" I said
"Well not really, more like you take her decision into consideration. You're still the CEO" Ceaser said
I nodded.
It was time.
Time to pay back what I owed the Thompsons for helping out.
They've done so much for my dad and I, it was only fair to do the same.
They want me to get married to their daughter. It was all I could do to repay them.
"Anything else I should know about?" I asked
"Yes" Jules said "She's coming back home tomorrow and she wants to know how to handle the company. So you'll have to teach her a few things"
I nodded
"Not a problem" I said "After all...she's my future wife"
The Thompson's smiled
"You seem to be taking his really well" Jules said
"I've waited seven years for this" I said "It's only fair to all of us to do this"
"There's just one problem though" Ceaser said
"Which is?" I asked
"Ivy doesn't know about this yet" Ceaser said
I blinked.
My heart beat began to escalate.
If I had a heart monitor right now, the readings would be off the roof
I swallowed
"I'm sorry. Did you say Ivy?" I asked hoping I heard wrong
"Yes, Ivy" Ceaser answered
I swallowed hard again.
This wasn't good.
"Is there a problem son?" Dad asked
"I'm sorry Mr. Thompson, but if you haven't noticed. Ivy and I hated each other's guts when we were younger" I said
Jules and Ceaser smiled
Wait! What am I missing?
"Now you're both older and matured" my dad said "Things might change"
"Dave..." Jules began "...you think you hated each other. There's a big difference"
"Excuse me?" I was lost "What do you mean?"
They smiled at me
"You'll have to find out all by yourself" Ceaser said
"Find out what exactly?" I asked
"For a business man, you seem absolutely clueless" Ceaser said
"Like you were at first" Jules said to her husband "You'll have to find out what the real reason is, behind the hatred you and my daughter had for each other"
"It's clear enough" I said "I was a dick, she was a bully"
"Mind your language" "Mind what you say about my daughter" my dad and Ceaser said at the same time, respectively
"Pardon me" I said
Silence.
"If you think this is gonna work out, then I can't say otherwise" I agreed
"Good" Ceaser said
"We already see you as a part of this family" Jules said "So it'll be best if you call us by our first names"
"Thank you Mrs. Thom...Jules" I said
"Welcome to the family" Ceaser said as we all rose
"Thank you sir" I said
"Ceaser" he said as he pulled me into a hug "I trust you to take good care of my daughter"
"I'll try my best sir" I said
"Your best better be good enough" he said
Well this is it.
I was getting married to Ivy Thompson, my teenage nightmare. She was okay looking on the outside and a bully on the inside, at least to me.
Haven't seen her since I graduated from High School, that's like ten years ago.
Well, no going back on my words.
I have to try and get along with her. She's gonna be my wife for crying out loud.
I'll see her when she comes over to the office...soon.

Mine's been the same. At home...reading for an entrance exam into the university.
