Amara's outfit:
Chapter Seven
ðº Night School ðº
The school doors slam shut, shaking on their hinges as the guys gripped the handlebars. "Lock it, lock it!" Scott yelled making Stiles look at him, "Do I look like I have the key?" He asked. "Grab something!' Scott said, "What?" Stiles asked dramatically.
"Anything!"
While Amara walked over to them after calming down, Stiles looks out the doors to the bolt cutters leaning against the wall outside. Amara look over at him, seeing the face he got whenever he had an idea, "Stop." She said and he looked at her. "Whatever dumbass idea you got in your head, don't." She said and he sighed and shrugged.
"I have to." He said and went to step forward but she stopped him, "What's your plan?" She asked. "Get the bolt cutters and put them in between the handles." He said and she glanced out the window at the bolt cutters and sighed. "Stay here and I'll get them." She said and started to open the door but Scott stopped her.
"What? You can't." He said and she rolled her eyes and looked at him, "I have Werewolf strength and fire powers. I'll be fine. Keep the door shut behind me." She said before quietly opening the door and stepping out.
She slowly stepped out and cautiously walked down the steps, staying as quiet as she possibly could until she got up to the bolt cutters. She crouched down next to the bolt cutters as she slowly grabbed them while glancing around for the Alpha.
Grabbing the bolt cutters, she turned back to see Scott and Stiles staring out the window of the door, trying to speak. She focused her hearing to hear them yelling at her to run and that's when she could year large footsteps coming at her. She turned around as the alpha leaped towards her stopped when she threw her hand up and a line of fire separated the two.
She wasted no time running up the steps and Scott opened the door for her and they second she got inside the boy slammed the door shut and Amara quickly put both sides of the tool down into the bars, a makeshift lock. "That won't hold, will it?" Scott said and Stiles shook his head, "Probably not." He answered. They all look back at the doors for a moment before running. They run into a classroom and Stiles makes a beeline for the teacher's desk, "The desk- the desk."
The two boys slip around the teacher's desk and start pushing it toward the door only to flinch at the loud squeal of metal against tile before Amara shot forward and stopped them. "Stop, a desk isn't gonna keep him out. All you're doing is making noise." She said and they nodded.
"It's your boss." Stiles said making Scott look at him, "What?" He said. "Deaton. The Alpha. Your boss." Stiles said and Scott shook his head, "No-" Scott went to say but Stiles nodded. "Yes. Murdering, psycho werewolf." Stiles said and Scott shook his head again, "It can't be." He said and Stiles raised his eyebrows.
"He disappears and that thing shows
up ten seconds later to toss Derek
twenty feet through the air. That's
not convenient timing?" Stiles said but Scott just shook his head, not wanting to believe him. "It's not him."
"He killed Derek." Stiles said making Amara sigh softly, "Derek's not dead. He can't be dead." Scott argued."Blood spurted out of his mouth. That doesn't exactly qualify as a minor injury. He's dead." Stiles said and Amara shook her head, "He's not dead until I see the body. Okay? But if we don't get moving we will be dead." She said and Stiles sighed and nodded, "Okay, okay. We get to my Jeep. We get out of here. You seriously think about quitting your job. Good?" He asks looking at Scott, who nodded.
They turn to the windows to view the parking lot. Quietly stepping to the furthest window, they spot Stiles's Jeep sitting in the lot about twenty yards away. Scott puts his hands on the window sill, going to try to open it but Stiles spoke up, "They don't open. The school's climate controlled."
"Then we break it." Scott said and Amara raised her eyebrows at him, "Which would cause a lot of noise." She said making him sigh. "So then we run really fast." They glance back to the Jeep, now seeming much further away, "Really fast."
While Stiles and Scott starts looking for something to break one of the windows, Amara furrowed her brows. "Stiles?" She said making him look over at her, "What's wrong with the hood of your Jeep?" She asked and he looked at her confused. "What do you mean? Nothing's wrong." He said and she glanced at him, "It's bent." She said.
"You mean dented?" He asked and she shook her head, "I mean bent." She said and Stiles cups his eyes to the window. Oddly enough, the Jeep's hood twists up toward the windshield like the top of a tin can. "What the hell-"
A sudden explosion of glass by their head mad them quickly crouch down to the floor, covering their faces from flying glass. Ducked under the window, they look past raised arms to see something skidding across the tile and slamming to a stop on the opposite side of the room amid a shower of broken glass.
Stiles, Amara and Scott sit frozen underneath the classroom window, staring at the Jeep's battery in front of them. "That's my battery." Stiles said and they nodded slowly, still slightly stunned. Stiles starts to get up but Scott grabs him, "Don't."
"We have to move." Stiles said and Scott shook his head, "He could be right outside." Scott said and Amara sighed in frustration. "He is right outside." Stiles argue and Scott keeps him down, hand gripping his friend's shoulder. "Just let me take a look." Craning his neck to see out the window, Scott glances around the empty and dark school lot. "Anything?" Stiles asked and Scott shook his head.
"Move now?"
"Move now."
The quickly get up and run out the class room and glance down the opposite ends of the corridor, nervously drifting forward. "This way." Scott said but Stiles stopped him, "No, no- somewhere without windows." He said and Amara sighed.
"Every single room in this building has windows." Amara said, while giving him a bored and tired expression. "Somewhere with less windows." He said and then realization crossed over Scott's features, "The locker room."
They quickly run to the locker room and slip inside, slightly breathing heavy. "Call your dad." Scott said making Stiles look at him, "And tell him what?" Stiles asked and Scott shrugged slightly. "I don't know! Anything! Gas leak. A fire. Whatever! If that thing seeks the parking lot filled with cop cars, it'll take off." Scott said and Stiles shook his head, "What if it doesn't? What if it goes completely Terminator and kills every cop in sight, including my dad?" Stiles asked.
"They have guns!" Scott said and Amara sighed and shook her head, "Derek had to be shot with a wolfsbane-laced bullet to do as little as slow him down. Normal bullets aren't going to do anything against an Alpha." Amara said and Stiles pointed at her and nodded in agreement.
"Then we-we have to-we have to find a way out and just run for it." Scott said and Amara shook her head, "There's nothing near the school for at least a mile." She said and Scott thought for a moment. "What about Derek's car?" He asked and Stiles nodded, "That could work... We go outside, we get the keys off his body, and then we take his car." Stiles said.
"And him." Amara said making Stiles sigh, "Fine. Whatever." He said before grabbing walking over to the door. He was about to walk out but Scott stopped him making them look at him. "Wait, I think I head something." He said and he and Amara both listened for a moment and then a shadow passes by the mottled glass window of the door. Mere centimeters from them. "Hide." Scott said.
Stiles draws back into the darkness as they all glance around in terrified desperation. There is nowhere to hide. Stiles looks to Scott with pleading eyes, but Scott doesn't seem to know what to do either. Amara glanced around before looking at a locker and tilting her head slightly, "The lockers." She whispered making Scott look at her crazy, "What no-"
"It's better than nothing." Stiles says and
reaches for a locker door as Amara quickly pulled a locker door opened and got inside. Scott sighed before quickly getting into a locker. Amara took a deep breath, closing her eyes she tried ti control her heard beat..
All if the sudden, the door of the locker Scott was in opened, followed by a scream of surprise making Amara and Stiles scrambled out of their lockers to see the janitor. "Son of a bitch!" Scott grabs him, trying to keep the terrified man on his feet, "Quiet- quiet!"
"Quiet, my ass. Are you three trying
to kill me?" Gasping, the Janitor leans against the locker looking like he's on the verge of a heart attack and Amara rolled her eyes. "Dude, you're fine." She said and he gave her an annoyed look, "All of you. Get out." He said.
"Just listen for half a second, okay?"
"No, not okay. Get the hell out of here. Right now!" The door slams open into the hallway, and the three of them get pushed out by the furious Janitor. "Just one second to explain-"
"Shut up and go." The Janitor ordered but all of the sudden the Janitor suddenly whips back into the locker room, swinging the door shut with him. The movement happens so quickly it leaves the three staring in utter confusion at the closed door.
Until the Janitor's face comes slamming back into the window if the door making them all flinch back. They stagger away in shock as the body of the Janitor slams forward again, rattling the door in its frame. "I take back what I said. He is not fine." Amara said before looking at the guys, "Run now." She said and they nodded.
They all finally run for it, racing down the corridor as the locker room door wrenches off its hinges. Bursting into the corridor and falling to the floor. The Janitor's dead body collapses down onto the door and then in one swift motion is dragged back into the darkness of the locker room.
Feet flying across the floor, Amara, Scott and Stiles race for the exit at the end of the hall. They reach the fire door handles at the same time, pushing down and shoving forward. The doors open, but only an inch, clanging against something behind them. Pushing again, they hear the same metallic clang. Something is on the other side, blocking the doors, "What the hell?"
Scott peers out the open inch of the door. "It's a dumpster. A garbage dumpster." He said making them all sigh. "He pushed it in front of the doors to trap us in." Amara sighed and Stiles turns, backing into the door, trying to push off from his feet and move the dumpster behind it. "Help me."
The door clangs against the dumpster again and again as he keeps trying to muscle it open. "Would you stop?" Amara asked as she grabbed the sleeve of his jacket, "Cant you do what you did ealier and toss it away? I'm not dying here. I'm especially not dying in school." He said and she gave him a look.
"We're not going to die." She said and he raised his eyebrows, "Then what's it doing? What does it want?" He asked and realization crossed over Scott's features. "Me. Derek says it's stronger with a pack." He said and Stiles nodded, "Great. A psychotic werewolf who's into teamwork. That's beautiful." He said sarcastically.
They retreat from the doors again, looking down the other end of the hall. But their cautious progression comes to a halt when Scott pauses. He turns to the wall of windows at the side of the corridor looking out on the courtyard and opposite side of the school.
On the roof figure crouches in the darkness, red eyes gazing directly at them. "Run." Amara whispered and the three of them start moving, running, nearly stumbling over each other as the alpha bounds from one level of the roof to the next, landing and leaping in the same instant as they race forward. Behind them, glass explodes into the hallway, the Alpha crashing back into the school.
Scott grabbed Stiles and Amara, pulling them to the adjacent stairwell, "Go!" They race into the lower level of the school, running for safety. They run back into the basement of the school, slipping around corners. Florescent lights flicker above them with an electric hum.
"We have to do something." Stiles said as the hid behind a corner, "Like what?" Scott whispered. "Kill it. Hurt it. Inflict mental anguish on it. Something." Stiles said and Amara thought for a moment before the sound of a door slamming opened made the three of them freeze. Trying to calm they're breathing and rapid heartbeats as claws clicked against the tiles.
Wren quietly pulled out her keys making them look at her. She held her finger up to her lips before slowly walking around the corner. She could see the Alpha at the end of the hall looking into another room. She quickly tossed her keys into another room before quickly running around the corner again.
The Alpha ran into the room and Amara quickly ran back and slammed the door shut. "Get the desk-the desk." She said and the guys quickly rushed to one of the steel desks and rams it against the closed door. Wren slips out of the way as the door jerks forward hitting the side of the desk. The Alpha roars from inside the cage room, slamming into the door. But the desk wedges between it and the opposite wall, trapping it.
"Did that just work?" Stiles asked breathing heavily and Amara and Scott nodded, "I think so." Scott said nodding. Stiles motions Scott and Amara to climb over the desk, Amara did but Scott hesitated as a loud breath came from the room.
Finally, Scott moves, awkwardly sliding over the desk as the Alpha's hand slams against the mesh wire window of the door making of them flinch back. They stare at the massive hand, clawed fingers like talons fitting through the openings as it slowly pulls back, disappearing again into the shadows.
Scott and Amara were about to walk away but Stiles started walking closer, "What are you doing?" Scott asked. "I want to get a look." Stiles answered getting closer. "Are you serious?" Amara asked and Stiles glanced at them "It's trapped. It can't get out." He said and the door rattles as if in response.
"That's right. We got you." Stiles said making Amara shoot him a look, "Stiles, shut the hell up." She said and Stiles waved her off. "No. I'm not scared of this thing. I'm not scared of you. Because you're not going any-" He said but, suddenly, the Alpha leaps up, going right into the ceiling.
They gaze up in horror as the ceiling panels above them start shaking, bending and popping up under the weight of the creature. No longer trapped at all. They turn to watch the panels rumble and shake above as the Alpha makes its retreat.
"Are you scared now?" Amara asked and Stiles nodded slightly before they started running again. All of the sudden Scott stops and turns to Stiles and Amara, "Do you hear that?" He asked making Stiles look at hm confused, "Hear what?" He asked while Amara focused on her hearing.
"Is that a phone ringing?" She asked and Scott nodded before realization cross over Scott's face. "I know that ring. It's Allison's phone."
ðº
"Hey, I can't seem to find them. Okay, give me a second. I'll be right there." Allison said into her phone as she walked through the swimming pool area. She clicks off and is about to put her phone away when it rings again, startling her, "Stiles?" She as she answered.
"It's me. Where are you?"
"In the school looking for you. Why weren't you at my place?"
"Where are you right now?" Scott asked making her furrow her brows at the tone in his voice. "On the first floor-" She said and he cut her off slightly "Where? Where are you exactly?" Scott's voice is so sharp, so laced with urgency that it's startled her silent. "The swimming pools."
"Get to the lobby. Go now."
"Okay, okay, I'm going"
ðº
Scott, Amara and Stiles ran through a door at the same time as Amara did and they quickly ran up to her. "What are you doing? Why'd you come here?" Scott asked frantically and Allison looked at him confused, "Because you asked me to."
"I asked you to?" He said confused and she shows him her phone and the message on it: Meet me at the school - Scott. That's when Allison notices their reactions. "Why do I get the feeling you didn't send that message?" She asked and Scott shook his head slightly, "Because I didn't."
"Did you drive here?" Amara asked and Allison shook her head, "Jackson did." She said. "Jackson's here too?" Scott asked and Allison nodded, "And Lydia. What's going on? Who sent this text-" Allison's phone rings again making her pick up.
"Where are you?" She asked and suddenly the doors opened and Lydia and Jackson walked in. "Finally. Can we go now?" Lydia asks but before any of them can speak they hear an odd rumbling above them making them all look up. "Run." Scott said, He spins, pushing them forward as something bursts out of the ceiling panels behind them. They run until the reached the cafeteria, slamming the door open and running inside.
"Scott, wait- not here- not here." Stiles says as him and Amara looked at the windows but Scott isn't listening. Swinging the doors closed as Scott spins back to search for a way to barricade them in. Allison and Lydia shoots questions at him but he doesn't answer, concentrating his efforts on shoving one of the vending machines forward.
Jackson and Allison get behind it as well, sliding it against the doors. Scott's panic seems to infect them all, heightening the fear among the group. "Guys, hold on." Even a frightened Lydia helps, pushing chairs forward, moving as fast as she can. "Guys, wait a second. Hello." Stiles continues to try and get their attention but they don't listen making Amara roll her eyes.
"Dumbasses!" She yelled making them all stop and turn to her and Stiles, "Okay, nice work. Beautiful job, everyone. Now what do you think we should do about the twenty foot wall of windows!" Stiles said as he shakes his hands at the field of glass to his right. Scott and the others look up, realizing he was right.
"Can someone please explain what's
going on? I'm freaking out here and
I'd at least like to know why." Allison asked and Scott doesn't respond. Doesn't even look at her. "Someone killed the janitor." Amara said making them look at her wide eyes, "What?" Lydia asked and Amara nodded.
"The janitor's dead."
"What's she talking about? Is this a joke?" Allison asked looking at Scott who shook his head, "Who killed him?" Jackson asked and Lydia shakes her head. "No, no, no. This was supposed to be over. The mountain lion-" She tried to say but Jackson cut her off, "Don't you get it? That wasn't a mountain lion."
"Who is it? What does he want?" Allison asked looking back and forth between the three. Stiles looks to Scott for help but his friend almost seems to be shutting down. Just shaking his head, no idea what to say while Allison and the others become more panicked. "What's happening? Scott?"
"I don't know- it's just- if we go out there, he's going to kill us." Scott said making them look at him fearfully, "Us? Kill us?" She asked and Allison turns to Stiles, pressing him. "Who? Who is it?"
"Derek. It's Derek Hale." Scott suddenly spoke up making Amara whip her head around at him. All eyes turn back to him in shock. Especially Stiles and Amara. Scott looks almost surprised at saying it himself. "Derek killed the janitor?" Jackson asked and Scott nodded, "You're sure?"
"I saw him." Scott answered making Amara shake her head slightly as she ran a hand through her hair. "The mountain lion-" Lydia went to say but Scott cut her off, "No. Derek killed them."
"All of them?"
"Starting with his own sister." Scott said and Amara squinted at him, while Stiles gently grabbed her shoulder. "And the bus driver?" Allison asked and Scott nodded. "And then the guy in the video store. It's been Derek the whole time. He's in here with us. And if we don't get out... he's going to kill us too." Scott said and Jackson looked at Stiles.
"Call the cops." Jackson said making Stiles look at him, "No." Stiles said making Jackson look at him crazy. "What do you mean no?" He said and Stiles squinted at him, "I mean no. Want to hear it in Spanish? Noh. Derek killed three people. We don't know what he's armed with." Stiles said and Jackson scoffed.
"Your Dad is armed with an entire Sheriff's Department. Call him." He did and Lydia held her hand up slightly, "I'm calling." Lydia said holding phone up to her ear. "Hold on- Lydia, just wait-" He starts forward, but Jackson shoves him back.
"Yes, we're at Beacon Hills High School. We're trapped in here and we need you to..." Lydia pauses. The others watch her expression change to one of surprise as she slowly pulls the phone away from her ear. "She hung up on me." She said slowly turning back to them and Allison raised her eyebrows, "The police hung up on you?"
"She said they got a tip warning them there would be prank calls about a break in at the high school. She said if I called again they would trace it and have me arrested."
"Then call again."
"They won't trace a cell phone. They'll send a car to your house before they send someone here." Stiles said and everyone sighed, "What the... What is this? Why does Derek want to kill us? Why's he killing anyone?" Allison asked and they all look to Scott for the answer while Amara crossed her arms and raised her eyebrows.
"Why are you looking at me?" Scott asked when he noticed them, "Is he the one who sent her the text?" Lydia asked and Scott shook his head. "No- I mean, I don't know." He said quickly, "Is he the one who called the police?" Allison asked.
"I don't know!" He snaps at her, causing Allison to flinch noticeably. Behind
her, Jackson can't help but smile just a little bit making Amara squint at him slightly. Stiles gets in between them to pull Scott aside along with Amara. "You want me to kill you, don't you?!" Amara whisper shouted at Scott, "You just framed my last cousin for the murder of not only his sister but also my ex-boss." She said and Scott sighed.
"I'm sorry. I-I didn't know what to say. I had to say something." He said and she stared at him deadpanned, "I'm gonna skin you alive." She said. "But if he's dead, it doesn't matter. Except if he's not...Oh God, I totally bit her head off." Scott said and Amara squinted at him, "And she'll totally get over it. Bigger things to deal with. Like getting out of here alive." Stiles said.
"But we are alive. And it could have already killed us. It's cornering us." Amara said and Stiles raised his eyebrows at her, "What? Like it wants to eat us all at the same time?" He asked and Scott shook his head. "No. Derek said it wants revenge." He said, "Against who?" Stiles asked and Amara shrugged slightly.
"Probably Allison's family. I'm sure theres a lot of people who want revenge against them. Hell, if I figure out which one started the fire, I would too." She said and Stiles nodded "Maybe that's what the text was about. Someone had to send it." Stiles said.
"Okay, assheads! New plan- Stiles calls his useless dad and tells him to send someone with a gun and decent aim. Are we good with that?" Jackson said making Scott sigh, "He's right. Tell him the truth if you have to. Just call him." Scott said and Stiles shook his head.
"I'm not watching my dad get eaten
alive." He said before turning to Amara, "What about your mom? You said she was a witch?" He asked and she shook her head. "She's a Protector Witch, while she does have everyday witch magic, Protector Magic is mostly shit like intuition, visions and feelings." She said.
Jackson steps past the others, charging toward Stiles. "That's it. Give me your phone." Jackson says and he spins Stiles around, grabbing for the phone in his pocket. But in a moment of pure instinct, Stiles reels back and punches Jackson, sending him sprawling to the floor.
Cradling his shaking hand, Stiles looks to Scott who is just as surprised while Amara laughed. With the hand not trembling in pain, Stiles reaches into his pocket and fishes out his cell phone. "Dad? Hey, it's me... and it's your voicemail. Um... I need you to call me back. Like now. Like right now-" Something slams into the doors of the cafeteria making Lydia scream and Amara grabbed Lydia and Allison's arms, pulling them back.
"We're at the school-Dad-we're at the school-" Another bang and a stack of chairs tumble down as the barricade against the doors begins to fall. Stiles lowers the phone, backing away with the others while Lydia tightly gripped Amara's hand.
Something hammers at the doors. Smashing at them, pounding, desperately trying to break through. The hinges at the top of the doors begin coming out of the wall, metal seeming to bend and collapse inward. "The kitchen. The door out of the kitchen leads to the stairwell." Stiles says, "Which only goes up." Scott said and Amara nodded
"Up is better than here." She said and with another bang and the decision is made and they run for the kitchen.
The stairwell door slams open as Scott and the others spill out into the second floor hallway. They try doors, all locked. Until Lydia finds an open one and they hurtle into a Chemistry room, quickly and quietly shutting the door. Scott grabs the teacher's chair and fits it under the knob as they hear the stairwell door slam open.
Everyone backs away to the wall where they can't be seen at the window of the door, each holding their breath. The sound of claws against the tile floor as the creature coming closer and closer. The door rattles from the weight of its approach.
Lydia covers her mouth with her hands, trying not to shriek as a breath steams the window at the door. And then it moves on, the sound of its lumbering body dissipating making Amara look at the door in confusion. It definitely knew they were there, why didn't it do anything?
After a moment, the kids breathe. But no one moves. Eyes still on the window of the door, Scott whispers, "Jackson, how many people can fit in your car?" He asked and Jackson shrugged, "Five if somebody sits someone's lap."
"Five? I barely fit into the back." / "There's six of us, Jackass." Allison and Amara said at the same time, "It doesn't matter. There's no getting out without drawing attention." Stiles said and then Scott looked around. "What about this?" Scott's eyes to the steel door past the teacher's desk. "It leads to the roof. We could go down the fire escape to the parking lot in seconds." Scott said and Stiles shook his head, "That's a dead bolt."
"The Janitor has a key." Scott said and Amara raised her eyebrows, "You mean his dead body has it." She said. "I can get it. I can find him by scent. By blood." Scott whispered to Stiles and Amara who scoffed.
"So can I but it doesnt mean I'm dumb enough to actually do it." Amara said and Scott shrugged slightly, "I'm getting the key." Scott said turning to the others. "Are you serious?" Allison asked and Scott nodded, "It's the best plan. Someone has to get the key if we want to get out of here." He said.
"You can't go out there unarmed." Allison says and Scott glanced around before grabbing the teacher's pointer from the chalkboard, gripping it like a baseball bat. Amara sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose as she walked away from him while everyone looked at Scott like he was both crazy and stupid. "It's better than nothing."
'There's got to be something else-"
"There is." Lydia says and nods to the cabinet full of chemicals that Amara was standing next to. "What? Like throw acid on him?" Stiles asked and Lydia rolled her eyes, "No, like a firebomb. In there is everything you need to make a self-igniting Molotov Cocktail." Lydia said.
"Self-igniting..."
"Molotov Cocktail. What? I read it
somewhere." Lydia said shrugging when everyone stared at her, "Well, we don't have the key to that either." Stiles said and Amara shrugged slightly before slamming her fist into the glass of the cabinet making it shatter.
"That works."
ðº
"I don't get this. I don't get why he's out there, why he left and... I can't... I can't get my hands to stop shaking. My hands-" Allison said, a couple minutes after Scott left as she paced. "It's going to be okay." Jackson said making Amara slowly look up to see him grab Allison hands.
She glanced over at Lydia who seems strangely calm, almost like she's determined not to be frightened anymore while Jackson leans closer to Allison. "I can't stop shaking." Allison said and Jackson nodded, "It's okay." He puts his hands over hers, their fingers intertwining, trying to keep her calm while his eyes linger over her just a little too long.
"Jackson, you handed me the sulfuric
acid, right? It has to be sulfuric acid. It won't ignite, if it's not." Lydia said as she looks back at him to find him glaring at her. "I gave you exactly what you asked for. Didn't I?" He snapped making Amara raise her eyebrows.
"Are you serious right now?" She asked making everyone look over at where she was leaning against the chalkboard with her arms cross as she looked at Jackson and Allison. "What are you talking about?" Jackson asked and she shook her head slightly as she got off the board and walked around the desk.
"Just the fact that you're a dick. Which I guess is normal for you." Amara said ans Jackson rolled his eyes, "Do you have a point to this or are you just being an annoying bitch?" Jackson asked making Amara raised her. "Said the dude whose actively being overly friendly to his enemy's girlfriend right in front of your girlfriend. What Jackson? Are you that insecure that Scott might actually be better than you so you after his girlfriend?" She ask and he glared at him..
"How about you shut the hell up and mind your own business. Last I check it was your cousin trying to kill us, so you shouldn't be talking. Who knows, maybe the murder gene is a family trait." He said and she nodded slowly. "You know what? For once, I actually want to prove you right." Amara said as she stepped up to him.
"Okay!" Stiles said as she pulled Amara back, away from Jackson. Before anyone could do anything else a massive roar rang throughout the school, making lockers and door shake. The others turn to hear the echoes of the bizarre sound coming from the school below. All except for Jackson and Amara who both fell to their knees, wincing in pain, crying out in pain.
Stiles instantly got down next to Amara who was holding her head in pain. "Amara?" Stiles asked worriedly and she looked up at him, her eyes glowing her mix of golden yellow and fiery red. Stiles' eyes widened when Amara's canines and claws started to grow out. She groaned in pain before digging her claws into her palms.
"What are you doing?" Stiles asked, looking over at the others who were busy with Jackson. "The Alpha- he's making me shift." She said in a whisper making his eyes widen, "Pain makes you human." She said as her eyes and teeth started to go back to normal before looking up at Stiles completely freaked out. "That's not supposed to happen. He's not my Alpha. He shouldn't be able to make me shift like that." She said and he furrowed his brows slightly before helping her up.
"Amara?" Allison asked as Lydia helped Jackson up, "I'm fine." Amara said. "What did you do to your hands?" Allison asked worriedly making Amara look down at her bloody palms. "Uh- PTSD moment." Amara quickly said while whipping her hands on her pants.
"What was on the back of your neck?" Stiles asked, looking at Jackson who just gave him a dirty look. "I said I'm fine."Â He said and Lydia sighed, "It's been there for days and he won't tell me what happened-" Lydia said and Jackson cut her off.
"As if you actually care." He snapped making Amara glare at him and step forward, "I am not in the mood to deal with your dickhead attitude right now. Keep talking to her like that and I'll make you eat your own dick." She warned and Stiles cautiously pulled her back.
"Can we not argue for half a second here?"
"Where's Scott? He should be back by
now." Allison asked a few seconds later she saw a silhouette at the door, "Scott?" She asked as she hurried over to the door. Grabbing the knob, she twists but is unable to open it. She looks out, seeing only the back of Scott's head, "Scott? What are you doing?"
"Where's he going?"
"Scott!" She pounds on the door, yanking at the knob, shouting his name as Amara turned her head slightly. "Scott!" Allison yelled and Amara held her hand up slightly, "Stop, stop! Do you hear that? Listen." She said and they all listened for a moment before they heard it.
The sound of sirens.
ðº
Amara sat on the back of a police car, watching and listening in to Allison breaking up with Scott. "Hey." Someone said making Amara look over to see her mom walk up to her, "What happened in there? Non-human wise?" She asked and Amara sighed.
"The Alpha killed Derek in front of us, killed the Janitor, chased us around the school... Almost made me shift..." She said making her mother look at her shocked. "How is that possible? You're an Omega, unless you're in someone's pack the only Alpha's that could make you shift is family." Makena said and Amara nodded.
"I know... Mom- You don't think he's-" Amara started to say but Makena cut her off, "No. You ment too much to him for him to do all this." Makena said and Amara just sighed tiredly. "But, I do have some good news and some bad news." Makena said making Amara raided her eyebrows, "Good news first please." She said.
"I looked all around the school, there was no sign of Derek. There was no body." Makena said making Amara's eyes widened, "He's still alive." She said and Makena nodded. "And that's when the bad news comes in. If Derek is still alive, that means-" She started to say and Amara nodded slightly, "He's a state fugitive..."
