Chapter Sixty-Nine

🎭 Lies Of Omission 🎭

"It's almost like this thing doesn't want to be found." Stiles said as he, Amara and Lydia walked around the preserve looking for the Nemeton. "Maybe it knows we're late for class... Because we've been here twice." Lydia said pointing at the mark she put on a tree to mark where they've been. "Crap."

"Can we talk to Jordan now?" Amara asked making Stiles turn to them, "Hang on- if the Nemeton's covered in bodies, shouldn't you be able to find them?" Stiles asked making Lydia raise her eyebrows at him, "Me?" She asked making him nod. "Yes, you. That's what you do! You're the Banshee. You find the bodies. And Amara, you're apparently connected to the Nemeton. You should be able to find it." He said making Lydia roll her eyes.

"Well, the Banshee and the Werewitch are having an off-day, so how about we talk to Parrish?" Lydia asked making him sigh, "We can't." He said. "Why not?" Lydia asked and he hesitated for a moment, "Because one of the bodies... One of them could be..." He trailed off making Amara sigh softly while Lydia raised her eyebrows.

"Could be what?"

"One of them could be a clue..." He said, and Amara sighed, "We're leaving now, Stiles. Lydia and I are going to talk to Jordan and tell him he's the one taking the bodies and I have some part in it. It's always better when they know." Amara said, giving him a slight hinting tone in her voice before grabbing Lydia's hand and walking away.

"Well, then, he should know... he owes me a Jeep!"

🎭

"So, if this place is so important, how come you didn't want to show it to me before?" Parrish asked glancing over at Amara then back at Lydia as he drove near the woods. Amara was in the passenger seat and Lydia was sitting in the back. "Well, the problem is it's not easy to find..." Lydia said and he raised his eyebrows.

"Should we put it in the GPS?" He asked making Amara chuckle and shake her head, "Sure, if you have a supernatural GPS." She said and he glanced at her. "So, how are we going to find it? Because I don't remember ever being anywhere near a giant tree stump." He asked as he made a turn making Amara smirk, "I've been there when I was a kid. But I think you're already starting to remember." She said making him look at her confused.

"How do you know that?" He asked and Amara glanced back at Lydia, "Because you just took a right turn." Lydia said making him furrow his brows and look through the rearview mirror, slightly alarmed.

Not long later, Amara, Parrish and Lydia walked around the preserve glancing around. "Anything look familiar?" Lydia asked and he sighed and shook his head, "Nothing. I'm trying, but it all looks like woods to me." He said and Amara sighed and shook her head slightly. "Me too." She and Lydia pursed her lips slightly.

"Maybe your both thinking about it too much. Maybe it's something you need to feel." She said with a slightly shrug and Parrish raised his eyebrows, "How do I do that?" He asked, glancing around again. "Fight each other." Lydia said making them look at each other. "Why?" Amara asked, "To get you guys to stop thinking." She said and Amara hummed slightly while Parrish was about to say something.

Before he could, Amara suddenly threw a punch towards Parrish which he instantly dodged it, grabbing her arm as he looked at her. "You're actually going to do this?" He asked and she smirked and shrugged, "I haven't fought something in a while, it'll be fun." She said as she pulled her arm back before going trying to punch him a couple more times which he blocked.

"Oh, is this supposed to motivate us?" He asked, glancing at Lydia who smiled in amusement, "No. It's supposed to get you guys to stop thinking." She said. "Fight me, asshole." Amara said as she managed to kick his side making him groan but also chuckled as he shook his head before smirking at her while raising his arms up.

She smiled before trying to kick him again but he ducked making her leg go over his head. She threw a punch but he stepped back as Lydia watched them in amusement as it seemed like they both were having fun fighting each other.

Amara threw some more punches and kicks which he either dodged or blocked until she threw another punch but he caught her wrist. She smirked before kicking his side making him step back slightly. She swung her arm out but he blocked it and slowly, her eyes turned red while his turned a fiery orange.

Slowly, they turned to look off in a direction making Lydia follow their line of sight to see past a few trees was the Nemeton. Lined with bodies of past chimeras, some were partly charred.

🎭

"I need to call it in. No, I need to turn myself in." Parrish said as they were walking back to the car and Amara shook her head. "I don't think that's such a good idea. You turn yourself in then you have to turn me in and I'm not embarrassing my mom by her daughter going to jail for something she did while sleep walking." Amara said making him sigh and turn to her and Lydia.

"You guys just told me I'm the one taking the bodies! I've attacked other law enforcement officers- that's a criminal offense. I shouldn't even be near you two." He said and Lydia scoffed lightly while Amara made him stop, "We're not afraid of you." Amara said and he shook his head. "I'm afraid of me." He said and Amara sighed.

"Look, whatever's happening seems to only happen when there's a body. Other than that, you're still a cool guy, and you're a pretty good deputy." She said. "I'm a very good deputy, and I'd like to stay that way. Flipping over Jeeps and attacking colleagues doesn't exactly fit with "protect and serve." I'm covering up the bodies of murdered teenagers." He said and Lydia sighed.

"You're not covering them up-" Lydia said before realization crossed over her features. "Actually, maybe you are..." She said in a slight whisper making them both look at her confused, "What?" Parrish asked.

"It's the same thing we asked Noah to do with Tracy. You're not covering up bodies- you're covering up the supernatural." Lydia said and Amara instantly got what she was saying while Parrish shrugged slightly, "What's the difference?" He asked. "Maybe you're keeping the secret safe? Maybe that's part of what you do." Lydia suggested and he raised his eyebrows, "I'm a deputy!" He said and Amara shook her head.

"No, no, she has a point. My mom is a Protector Witch so that mean I'm naturally more protective then the average person, more so since I'm an Alpha. And you're not just a deputy for humans. We're both protecting the supernatural by keeping them hidden. You take the bodies and bring them to the Nemeton for me to burn." Amara said and Lydia nodded, "You aren't one of the bad guys." She said and Parrish sighed.

"Guys, you just showed me that both our dreams are real, but Lydia, you haven't heard the rest of it... Every time I carry a body to the Nemeton, I put it down and... add to the ones that are already there." He said and Lydia nodded slightly, "How many?" She asked and Amara sighed and glanced down for a moment.

'Hundreds, Lydia. There's hundreds."

🎭

"Hey... What the hell does he think he's doing?" Stilinski asked, as he and Makena walked up to Lydia and Amara who were sitting on a bench  in the station, "Protecting us... For no reason." Amara sighed making Makena furrow her brows. "From who?" She asked,

"Himself." Lydia said, Stilinski sighed before walking to the holding cell room with Makena, Amara and Lydia following. They walked in to see Parrish sitting on the seat inside the cell and Stilinski walked over and was about to swipe his car but Jordan shot up.

"No!" He said making them look at him, "I get why you sat me at a desk for six months, now..." He said and Stilinski glanced at the girls as Parrish walked up to the bars. "Jordan, we can't keep you in here." Makena said but Parrish sighed and looked at Stilinski, "There's another body, right?" He asked. "Two, actually." Stilinski said making Amara and Lydia glance at each other before looking back at Stilinski.

"I'm the one taking them." Parrish said making Amara sighed softly and nodded, "He's taking them to me to burn." She said making them look at her before looking back at Parrish. "I-I don't remember doing it... But if it really was me at the morgue, then I'm dangerous, okay? You can't let me out, Sheriff." Parrish said before pulling his hand away and turning around.

"You can't."
