Amara's outfit:
Chapter Forty-Nine
ð° The Dark Moon ð°
"This doesn't seem so bad." Stiles says as him, Lydia and Amara look around, Lydia having a hold on Amara's arm. Them and the rest of the pack were in Mexico to negotiate with the Calaveras. "It's not the town, it's the plan." Amara says making Stiles look at her offended, "What's wrong with the plan?"
"Stiles, this could be the stupidest plan we've ever come up with. You're aware of that, right?" Lydia says exasperatedly and he nodded, "I'm aware it's not our best..." He said making Amara raised her eyebrows, "We've had better plans?"
"We are going to die." Lydia said making Stiles glanced at her. "Are you saying that as a Banshee, or are you just being pessimistic?" Stiles says as they start walking. "I'm saying it as a person who doesn't wanna die." Lydia says and Amara laughed, "Okay... Would you mind restricting any talk of death to actual Banshee predictions?"
"This plan is stupid and we're all going to die." Amara says and Stiles chuckled and nodded his head, "Oh thank you." He said sarcastically and she smiled.
Walking up to the building of the club, two men stood in front of them, "Estamos aquà para la fiesta?" Lydia asked and the men looked at each other then shook their head making her sigh. Stiles pulled a card out of his pocket before showing it to one of the men, he looked over to a camera making Stiles hold the card up to it and then a few second after the door buzzed open.
Taking a deep breath, they walked in, the door shutting behind them as they walked down a hall. The music they could already hear was making the walls shake violently. As they walked, Amara made sure to keep a good grip on Lydia as well as Stiles shoulder so they dont get separated.
Standing at the bar, three shot glasses got set in front of them making them raise their eyebrows in confusion. Stiles went to grab his wallet but a hand grabbed onto his and Amara shoulders, "No. On the house. Most American teenagers don't cross the border to refuse a drink." Someone said and Amara rolled her eyes.
"We didn't come here to drink." Amara said before dropping one of the bullets she found on the loft floor into a shot glass.
"Severo hates this music. Me? I've always loved the music of youth. This especially, it has a savage energy." Araya said, looking down at whatever she was doing making Amara sigh. "We're here for Derek Hale." She said making Araya look at her and smile, "Is that so?"
"We know you have him. We've heard you can be bought." Lydia said and Stiles put stacks of cash on the desk, "That's fifty thousand for Derek." He said making Araya chuckle. "Now, where does a teenage boy get money like this? Japanese mafia?" She asked and people around them started cocking their guns making Lydia and Stiles jump and look around while Amara didn't seem fazed.
"Not smart to come alone." Araya said making Stiles raise his eyebrows, "What makes you think we're alone?" He asked. Araya's face fell into a scowl. "You brought a wolf into my home?" She asked and Amara smirked, "We brought two Alphas." Amara said before flashing her red eyes making Araya's jaw clench for a moment.
"My friends...I don't think you're aware of your poor timing. Do you know what the dark moon is?" She asked and Amara pursed her lips and shrugged, "The part of the lunar phase when the moon is least visible in the sky." She answered and Araya nodded, "But do you know its meaning?" She asked.
"Some people say it's a time of reflection of grief." Lydia said and Araya chuckled, "Grief and loss, mija. I wonder why, when you and your friends have suffered so much loss, you would risk it again for someone like Derek Hale." She said making Stiles squint at her. "Cause we don't like to lose." Stiles said and Amara nodded' "And he's literally my cousin."
"Nadie en la cantina. Front door clear, south clear." Someone said over the radio. "North? Norte?" Severo asked but got no response, "Dónde está el norte?"
"Stiles, take ten off the table." Scott's voice came through the radio making Stiles take away a stack of cash, "Maybe you should just take the deal." Lydia said in a slight whisper. "While I am keen to follow the warning of a banshee, I'm going to have to decline." Araya said making Stiles sigh, "Awww, come on. Just give us Derek. You don't want him anyway! Haven't you noticed what a downer he is? No sense of humor, poor conversationalist. Just, come on. Take the money." Stiles said and Amara nodded in agreement.
"Severo? Show them how the Calaveras negotiate." Araya said and some man walked up to Amara, holding a syringe. He grabbed her should but before he could do anything she grabbed his arm, standing up and slamming his head down onto the table.
She sighed as she let him fall to the ground before looking up at Araya, "Did you seriously think I'm that easy? I'm disappointed, I expected more from you."
ð°
"He's awake!" Kira said, standing over Scott as he slowly opened his eyes making Stiles, Malia and Amara run over to them. "Scott, you okay?" Stiles asked before him and Amara helped Scott up, "Yeah... They don't have him. They don't have Derek." Scott said and Amara sighed.
"We know... But right now, they've got Lydia." She said making him look at her wide eyed, "Lydia? What do they want with Lydia?" He asked and she just shrugged. He instantly started looking around the room and the door making them sigh softly.
"We already looked for a way out. I think a lot of people have." Kira said and Malia sighed, "I say, when that door opens again, we take out whoever's standing in the way and run for it." She said making them look at her. "What about Lydia?" Kira asked and Malia looked at her confused, "What about her?" She asked and Amara sighed. "We're not leaving without her." She said and Malia looked at her crazy, "Why not?" She asked and Stiles stepped forward
"Because we don't leave without people. Remember, we talked about this? Rules of the wild kingdom don't apply to friends." He said and Malia sighed, "Is that what you would do as a coyote? Leave her for dead?" Kira asked and Malia shrugged.
"If she was weak and injured, yeah. If hunting had been bad that season, I would eat her- Then I'd leave." She said making Stiles sigh and look at everyone, "Believe it or not, that's progress." He said. "All right, guys. We're not dead yet, and that means Araya wants something." Scott said making them look at him, "But, if the Calaveras don't know where Derek is, that means they didn't take him from the loft, right?" Kira asked. "Maybe he left on his own? Although I highly doubt that. He would have at least told my mom if he was leaving town." Amara said and Scott furrow his brows slightly.
"Maybe someone else got to him..."
ð°
"Oh, God..." Lydia whispered when she got pulled into a room where Scott and Amara was chained down to metal chairs. "Hey! Hold on a minute! Let her go! You've got us! Let the others go." Amara said as a man pushed Lydia down onto another chair and chained her down as well.
Severo, who had a hold on Kira's arm, pulled her over to a table. "Your hand goes here." Severo said as he grabbed Kira's hand and put it on a control box. "So, let me explain what's about to happen, This one, the fox, has an immunity to electricity. So, she's going to turn the dial on the Alpha. If she doesn't? I turn the dial on the Banshee." Severo said and Kira shook her head.
"No. I'm not doing this!" She said and Severo raised his eyebrows, "I see. Are you sure? One of your friends has the power to heal. The other? Not so much." He said and Amara raised her handed hand slightly. "Why am I just in regular chains? You do realize I could break out of these if I felt like it, right?" Amara asked and Severo smirked, "Because whatever he feels, you feel." He said and she scoffed slightly.
"So basically I'm getting like a contact pain? That's boring."
"What are you doing? Is this a game to you?" Scott asked, glancing back at Araya, "This is a test, lobito- let's see if you pass. We're going to ask some questions. You answer them? Nobody gets hurt. You don't answer? We turn on the dial." Araya said and Scott looked over at Kira. "Do what they say. Whatever they want. Amara and I can take it." He said and Kira took a deep breath before nodding.
"So... We don't know where Derek is. We want to find him as well. You know who took him." Araya said making Scott scoff slightly, "What? How would I know that?" He said.
"That doesn't sound like an answer to me." Araya said and Lydia looked up, "We don't know! Why do you think we're here?" Lydia said and Arya sighed. "Kira, turn the dial." Araya said and Kira's eyed widened as she shook her head. "Should we turn the dial on Lydia instead?" Araya said and Severo went to grab the one connected to Lydia making Amara's eyes wide.
"Hey! No! That's not necessary. Kira, do it." Amara said and Scott nodded in agreement and Kira stared at him for a moment before grabbing the dial, "Let's start at one..." Araya said. Kira took a deep breath before turning the dial making Scott and Amara both groan in pain as Scott started to get electrocuted and Amara felt his pain.
"Tell me! Who actually has Derek? Who had a reason? A vendetta particular to the Hales?" Araya said and Scott looked up at her, breathing heavily, "I said, I don't know..." He said. "Oh, you don't know because you haven't figured it out yet! So think! Who could have taken him?" She said.
"Tres." Severo said as he nodded to the dial making Kira's eyes widen, "It's okay." Scott said making Kira look at him. "It's okay." He said and she looked away before turning the dial making him and Amara groan. "Who had the power? The power of a shapeshifter?" Araya yelled and Amara shook her head slightly, "We don't know!" She said.
"Oh! Someone who could have turned without you knowing. Turned, but not by a bite!" Araya said making Amara look at her with furrowed brows while Scott and Amara groaned, "I don't know." He said. "¡Diez!" Araya said making Kira look at her crazy, "¡DIEZ!" Araya and Kira didn't make a move.
Araya walked over and pushed Kira and Severo back before turning the dial herself and Scott screamed in pain while Amara gritted her teeth while wrapping her hands around the chains. All of the sudden Amara's eyes turned before breaking the metal cuffs and standing up.
"Say the name, Amara." Araya said and Amara slowly looked over at her while breathing heavily, "Kate..." She said with anger clear in her voice.
ð°
"So... You're just letting us go?" Scott asked as he and Amara followed Araya down an alleyway, "I sent four men out to where Kate was rumored to have been seen. None of them came back. Let's see if you can do better." Araya said as she turned to them and Amara rolled her eyes slightly.
"You could have just told us she was alive." Amara said and Araya raised her eyebrows, "You wouldn't have believed me." She said and Amara shook her head. "I would have. That woman has tormented my family for years... I wouldnt be surprised if she came back from the dead to continue." Amara said and Araya nodded slightly.
"Now I know what kind of Alphas the two of you are... And where your next step lies." Araya said and Scott furrowed his brows, "What next step?" He asked. "When either of you take the bite of an innocent- when you make a wolf of your own? When you do that, then I will cross your border and come knocking at your doors." Araya said and Amara nodded slightly, "Trust me, this world has enough idiots in it. I dont plan on bringing in anymore." She said before grabbing Scott's arm and walking away.
"So, what now?" Stiles asked as Scott and Amara walked up to them, "She think she knows where we can find Derek." Amara said as she looked at the girls who were all leaning against the jeep. "She's gonna tell us where?" Malia asked, "Uh, actually, she's giving us a guide." Scott said and someone on a motorcycle drove up to them and the girl on it took off her helmet making Amara smile.
"Breaden? Long time no see." Amara said as she walked over to the girl who smiled at her before they hugged each other. "You know her?" Stiles asked as Amara and Braden pulled away. "She's my god-mother and a mercenary." Amara said and Braeden nodded, "Right now, I'm the only one who's gonna take you to La Iglesia." Braeden said making Lydia raise her eyebrows at her. "The Church?" She asked, "What's "The Church?" Stiles asked and Breaden glanced at him.
"It's not a place you'll find God."
ð°
The jeep was quite for a moment as they followed Braeden until Malia spoke up, "Okay, I'll ask... Who's Kate Argent?" Malia asked leaning forward and Kira raised her hand slightly, "Uh, I'd like to know, too..." She asked awkwardly.
"Well, we were at her funeral, so I'd like to know how she got out of a casket that was buried six feet underground." Stiles said and Scott shook his head, "She was never in it." He said.
"She was Allison's aunt... and a total sociopath." Lydia said after a few seconds making them look over at her before Kira glanced at Amara. "You don't have to talk about it now if you don't want to..." Kira said and Malia looked at her, "Um, yes, they do!" She said and Scott nodded, "Yeah, she's right. You guys should know. You need to know." He said and Amara sighed.
"Kate was the one who set the fire that killed most of my family. Some of them survived, like Cora and Peter..." Amara said and Lydia nodded slightly. "A very angry Peter." She said and they nodded. "Yeah, he's the one who bit and turned me-" Scott said and Lydia interjected, "And the one who finally caught up to Kate and killed her."
"And we saw her buried." Stiles said and Amara shook her head, "No... All we saw was a casket, remember? She wasn't in it. The Calaveras heard that Kate had been killed by an Alpha's claws. They wanted to make sure she was really dead. Her body was healing, more and more, as she got closer to the full moon. She was coming back. So, they switched the bodies. If a Hunter is bit, they have to take their own life before they change. The Calaveras... they treat the Code like law. They make it their responsibility to enforce it." Amara explained.
"Good for her! I wouldn't do it, either." Malia said making Scott glance at her, "Would you kill a half-dozen people to get out? Because that's what she did." He said. "So, Kate's a Werewolf now?" Kira asked and Scott sighed, "I don't know. You know, there's a saying... "Sometimes, the shape you take reflects the person you are."
"What kind of shape is a sociopathic bitch?" Lydia mumbled making Amara chuckle and nod slightly. All of the sudden it felt like they had hit something making the jeep rock a bit as Stiles pulled out and everyone instantly got out.
"What happened?" Braeden asked after she climbed off the bike, "I dont know- it felt like we hit something." Stiles looked around the car. "Scott, Amara, we need to get there by night. It's too dangerous, otherwise." Braeden said making Scott sigh and look at them conflicted, "Go." Amara said and Scott shook his head. "Not without you."
"I'll stay here, someone needs to find Derek. We'll figure something out. Just go." Amara said and Scott nodded as Kira walked up up to him. They talked for a moment before hugging and Scott went off with Braeden.
Amara glanced around then crouched down next to the tire before noticing something, "Stiles, I don't think we hit something- I think something hit us." She said pulling out what looked like a sharp bone, "What the hell is that?" Stiles asked and Amara took a deep breath before shaking her head and standing up.
"I have an idea but I'm not 100% sure. But, let just say that if I'm right than we might be screwed if we don't get out of here." Amara said making them all glance at each other.
"Do you even know what you're doing?" Amara asked as she watched Stiles work on the jeep and he glanced up at her. "It's my jeep, of course I do." He said and she just raised her eyebrows at him, "Maybe we should just walk." Amara said making him look up at her with a glare, "Hey, I will never abandon this Jeep! You understand me? Ever. Ever. Ever." He said, getting back to work.
Lydia turned around and grabbed something out of the tool box and looked like she was gonna throw it at him before setting it down and rubbing the back of her neck making Amara chuckle.
"Work faster, Stiles..." Malia said looking out in the distance, "There's something out here with us." She said and Amara moved to stand next to her, looking out in the distance.
ð°
"Lydia, could you please hold the light still for a second? It's really hard to see anything if you keep shaking it like that..." Stiles asked as Lydia held a flashlight for him. Night had fallen already and Stiles still hadn't gotten his jeep fixed yet. "I'm shaking it this way because we're in the middle of nowhere with your broken down Jeep, and we're being attacked by yet another razor-clawed monster, and I'm terrified." Lydia stressed making Amara glance back at her.
"Well, just be slightly less terrified... And hold this." Stiles said handing Lydia something he pulled out, "What's this?" She asked. "I don't know. I'm hoping it's not important." He said making Amara sighed and pinch the bridge of her nose.
"Anything?" Kira asked walking up to Amara and Malia, "It's too hard to see. We should've brought another flashlight." Malia said. Kira walked over to the head lights and reflected the lights off of her katana. Looking out in the distance they see a figure moving. Malia growled and ran forward making Amara's eyes widen, "Malia!" She yelled, running after her ignoring the calls behind them.
Amara looked around, cautiously as she didn't see Malia anywhere. "Malia!" She called out as she started walking down a path way. She paused slightly, taking a deep breath only to cringe when she smelt death, followed my blood.
Suddenly someone grabbed her shoulder making her instantly spin around to see Malia, "Ugh, it's me. It's me." Malia said, holding her side. Amara looked down and instantly noticed the deep gash making her eyes widen as she grabbed Malia's arm.
"What the hell happened? What did you see?" She asked and Malia shook her head, "I don't know, but it's big and fast-And it cuts deep." Malia said and Amara grabbed Malia's arm and wrapping it around her shoulder. "Just so you know." Amara said making Malia look at her, "Stiles will lose his shit when we get back."
"You.... You, please don't do that ever again!" Stiles said and Malia looked at him confused. "Do what?" She asked making him glance at her, " I... I thought you just took off. I thought you were running." He said. "I was running." She said making Stiles sighed, "No, like, I thought you were leaving." Stiles said and she shook her head, "I wouldn't leave without you."
"Really?" He asked surprised, "I would never leave without you. Them, I would leave." She said and Amara nodded slightly. "How sweet." She mumbled sarcastically. "That doesn't look good." Lydia said leaning over to look at Malia's cut, "It's okay." Malia nodded and Kira raised her eyebrows, "Are you sure: It looks deep." Kira said. "I can feel it healing." Malia said and Lydia raised her eyebrows, "You didn't see anything?" Lydia asked and Malia shook her head.
"Barely... It had a strong scent, though." Malia said and Stiles glanced at her, "Like what?" He asked. "Like death. I could smell it before I found Malia... Which means I'm pretty sure I was right about what out there." She said. Before anyone could question her, they pulled up to the church right as Braeden and Scott came running out.
"Is that him? Is that Derek?" Malia asked looking at Stiles, "Uh... Sort of..." Stiles said glancing at Amara who looked at him as well, both of them shocked a they looked back at Derek.
Or to be more specific, a 17-year-old Derek Hale.
