Amara's outfit:
Chapter Thirty-One

"Good morning! As you all know, Mr. Harris is still missing- I mean sick. Anyway, I'm filling in while we all hope and pray for a more qualified substitute to take my place. Okay, so let's get started, shall we?" Miss. Blake said before flipping pages in a book. As she does this Stiles tapped his table to get Amara's attention as he leans over to Scott.
"Hey, my dad said that the ER attending wasn't strangled but did die from asphyxiation- they just don't know how." Stiles said as Amara turned to them, "Do you think the on-call doctor could still be alive?" Scott asked and Amara sighed.
"Doubt it. I don't think the Darach would risk it." She said and Stiles nodded, "Scott, there's got to be at least twenty other doctors in that hospital at least, you know? Any one of them could be next." He said. Before Scott could say anything his phone buzzes making him pull it out to see Deaton calling him. Sliding down in his seat to be inconspicuous, Scott answers the phone, "Hey Doc. Sorry, I'm in class right now- can I call you back later?"
"Unfortunately, no... I honestly thought I might never have to burden you like this, but I'm afraid, at the moment, you're my only hope. I'm going to be taken. I need you to find me."
"Doc. Doc, doc, doc- what's happening?" He asked but the line goes dead, a dial tone blaring back at him making him sit back up to look at Stiles and Amara, whose eyes were wide.

While his Deputies scour the clinic for clues, Stilinski tries to comfort Scott with Stiles and Amara now by his side. "Alright, we're doing everything we can. Right now, the best thing you can do is go back to school." Stilinski said as he rested a hand on Scott's shoulder, giving it a comforting squeeze and then steps out to the waiting area. Scott throws Stiles and Amara a look, gesturing for them to follow into the cage room where they'll be out of earshot.
"We have to tell him." Scott said making Stiles scoff, "You mean, like, tell him? Or, tell him something else that isn't telling him what I think you want to tell him?" Stiles asked making Amara furrow her brows slightly for a second while Scott sighed.
"You know what I mean." He said and Stiles squinted at him slightly, "You remember how your mom reacted? She didn't look you in the eye for, like, a week!" Stiles said and Scott shrugged slightly. "And she got over it! And- and it actually made us closer." He said and Stiles sighed softly, "I don't know, dude... I mean, look at him. Come on, he's completely overwhelmed as it is!" He said.
"He's overwhelmed because he has no clue what's happening." Amara said before shrugging slightly, "He's got people dying in his town- the town that he's supposed to protect- and it's not his fault that he doesn't know what's happening. He's gonna find out sooner or later. I'll be better if he finds out from you telling him." She said.
"Yeah, but is now really the right time?"
"What if not telling him now gets someone else killed?"
"What if telling him gets him killed, huh? I mean, okay. Look, I get that Deaton's been like a father to you- I get that, okay? But this is my- Scott, this is my actual father. I can't... I can't lose both of my parents, all right? Not both of them." Stiles said and Amara comfortingly grabbed his shoulder while Scott sighed softly, "You're right." He said and Stiles thought for a moment before shaking his head and sighing.
"No, I'm not. I'm not right. I'll tell him." Stiles said and Scott nodded, "I'll help you." He said and before Stiles could say anything Amara tapped his shoulder making them look at her and she nodded at the other room. They followed her gaze to see Ms. Morrell talking to Stilinski.
"Please, whatever you need. However you can help find my brother." She said making Scott and Amara turn to Stiles who mouths "brother?" Seeing she's caught their attention, Morrell approaches the three, lowering her voice to an urgent whisper.
"Okay, listen closely, all of you- no sheriff, deputy, or detective is going to be able to find him." She said and Scott nodded, "You don't have to ask us for help." He said. "Actually, I'm trying to help you... Because if you're going to find my brother, then you need to use the one person who might actually have an ability to seek out the supernatural." She said before turning to Amara as realization crossed over her face.
"Lydia."
â
"Let go." Lydia said but Cora doesn't let go of her wrist making Lydia raise her eyebrows, "I said-" She stared to say again but someone cut her off.
"Let go." Amara said making them look over to see her and Stiles walk into the locker room, "I believe she said let go, my dear cousin." Amara said and Cora finally releases Lydia making Amara nod in satisfaction. "Alright now, we need Lydia for some important business. Cora, you are more than welcome to join." Amara said before turning around and walking out.
In the empty classroom, Stiles opens a box on one of the tables in front of Cora, Lydia and Amara. Peering inside, Lydia removes a planchette from the box as Stiles unfolds a tell-tale board with letters and numbers on it. "An Ouija board?" Amara asks giving Stiles a weird look, "Also called a spirit board. And it's worth a shot."
"A shot in the dark."
"Will you just try? This is for Scott's boss. The guy who's saved our collective asses more than once." He sets the planchette in the middle of the board. "All of us?" Cora asks and Stiles nods. They each gently place their fingers on the edge of the planchette.
"Okay, Ready? Where is Dr. Deaton?" Stiles asked and they all waited, ach of them peering down at the planchette, focusing on it. Lydia purses her lips, bored, then notices Amara, Cora and Stiles watching her, "What?" She asked.
"Aren't you gonna answer it?"
"Oh, I don't know the answer. I thought we were asking some sort of spirit." Lydia said, "Well, do you know any spirits?" Cora asked making Amara sigh softly and Lydia look at her, "Is she for real?"
"Okay this isn't gonna work." Amara said taking away the board and planchette, "What if we ju-" Stiles started but Amara just shook her head. "Stiles, no. It's not gonna work." She said and he sighed. "Fine, we'll try a different method." He said, pulling out Deaton's keys. "These are Deaton's keys to the Clinic. Close your eyes. I'll put them in your hand and you try to get a feel for his location. It's called psychometry." Stiles explains making Lydia purse her lips, "I'm not psychic."
"You're something. Try, okay?" Stiles said and Lydia closes her eyes and holds out her hand. Stiles places the keys in her palm, "Ooh." She mumbled jumping slightly. "What?" Stiles asks excitedly, "They're cold." Lydia said making Stiles sigh.
"Lydia, concentrate. Trying to save lives here." Stiles said starting to get frustrated. She closes her eyes again and wraps her fingers over the keys, brow furrowed in concentration. "What do you see?" He asked and after a moment, she opens her eyes and shakes her head. "Nothing. Absolutely nothing." She says making them all sigh. "Okay... we'll try another method." Stiles says holding up a simple number two pencil.
"Automatic writing?" Amara asks and Stiles nodded. Skeptical, Lydia takes the pencil and presses the tip to a sheet of paper. Cora and Stiles peer over her shoulders, watching her draw. "Lydia, what are you doing? What... what the hell is that?" Stiles asks looking down at the paper, "A tree." Lydia says making Amara chuckle quietly at the look on Stiles's face.
"A tr-? Lydia, you're supposed to be writing words- like, in sentences, something like a location, something that would tell us where he is." Stiles stressed making Lydia look at him, "Well, maybe you should've said that."
"Isn't she supposed to be some kind of genius?" Cora asked making Lydia set down the pencil, "Genius? Yes. Psychic? No. Honestly, I don't even know why you're bothering with me, anyway... I mean, especially since it's obvious you should be talking to Danny." Lydia said making them look at her confused. "What? Why Danny?"
"Because." Scott said making then all turn to look at him at the door, "Last night, he was a target... But he wasn't a sacrifice."
The bell rings and students pour out of classrooms for the end of the day. Normal teenagers rushing out, a contrast to Scott, Stiles, Amara, Cora and Lydia who hurry down the corridor with far weightier concerns. "But isn't Danny still in the hospital?" Cora asked, "Yeah. That's where we're going right now." Stiles said.
"I'll meet you there." Amara said making them look at her, "Why?" Cora asked and Amara held up her phone. On the display is a text from Allison: I think I found something.
â
"So, I was looking through one of his drawers, and I found this." Allison said, holding something up as she and Amara walked into her room. All if the sudden the elevator dinged making them stop, "He wasn't supposed to be back yet." Allison said and Amara raised her eyebrows.
"What do we do?" Amara asked and Allison opened her closet before pulling Amara in. She quickly but quietly shut the door, leaving her and Amara standing chest to chest. "Not the first time I've been in the closet." Amara whispered making Allison give her a look but still couldn't help but smile. Amara stared at her for a moment before furrowing her brows slightly, "Are we dating?" Amara asked quickly making Allison look at her confused.
"What?" Allison asked, "Are we dating? I'm not really sure where we stand." Amara said and Allison raised her eyebrows. "You're asking that now?" Allison asked and Amara shrugged slightly, "I don't when is a good time to ask. I just thought since we both here, standing very close in a closet, is a good enough time to just rip the bandaid of-" Amara started to ramble until Allison grabbed the back of her neck, pulling her down into a kiss.
Amara instantly kissed back until Allison slowly pulled away. "Yes, we're dating." Allison said making Amara nod slightly and quietly clear her throat before smiling. They paused slightly when they heard footsteps before a door closed. Allison slowly opened the closet door and waited for a moment before she heard the front door close.
She quickly grabbed Amara's hand before pulling her to Argent's office. "See this map?" Allison asked as they walked over to the desk, "Last time we were in here talking, my dad put a book over it. There was something about the way he did it... It was like... it was like he was trying to cover it." Allison said and Amara furrowed her brows slightly.
"I don't see anything." Amara said and Allison nodded, "Yeah, you can't until you use this." Allison said while holding up a black light before shining it over the map to show different marks. "He's been tracking and marking everything- Cora and Boyd at the bank, the office in the penthouse above us, all of the dead bodies... He has a symbol for where someone was taken, and then a different mark for where the bodies are found, see?" Allison said.
"Now, here's the scary part- there have been six sacrifices, right?" Allison asked and Amara nodded, "There are twelve markings on the map." Allison said making Amara furrow her brows. "What does that even mean? Did your dad find the other bodies and not tell anyone?" Amara asked and Allison shook her head slightly, "I don't think so... "
"I think he knows where the body is going to be found. So, one of these six locations- one of these- is where Deaton could end up. I mean, it doesn't tell us where he's being kept right now, but..." Allison said and Amara nodded, "But it's close to figuring it out." She said and Allison nodded.
Amara pulled out her phone and held it up to take a picture of the map. The elevator suddenly dinged again making them look up and their eyes widen slightly.
Argent walked into the apartment and opened the door to his office, glancing around to see no one in sight. He walked down the hall before opening Allison's door to find her sitting on her bed, eating some candy while looking at a text book.
"Hey." Argent said as he walked in making Allison look up, "I, uh, I didn't hear you come in." Argent said and Amara carefully snuck out behind him. "Yeah, I was just doing some homework." Allison said and Argent smiled and nodded before walking out, shutting the door behind him.
â
Under the examining room's overhead light, Amara, Cora and Lydia watch Stiles gather Danny's work on the steel table. "Okay, so what does this kid's homework have to do with finding Deaton?" Cora asked and Stiles didn't look up from the papers, "Because it's not just homework, okay? It's a project on geomagnetic fields. They flow through the earth. They can even be affected by lunar phases, all right?"
Stiles shows them Danny's proposal page where teacher's notes have been written in red, "I strongly advise you to choose another topic. The ideas here, while innovative and thoughtful, border on pseudo-science. Not suitable for class." Lydia read.
"Harris wasn't just a sacrifice- he knew something." Amara said looking at all of them. "Now, check this out- Argent wasn't the only one with a map, all right? Danny had one, too. Danny marked all the telluric currents, okay? Now, the weird thing about Beacon Hills is that it actually is a beacon- you wouldn't believe how much energy flowing through the earth is around this town." Stiles says as he unfolds a normal road map of Beacon Hills. Strange wavy lines have been marked all over it.
"Stiles look, they match." All eyes focus on the two maps as Amara grabs a black marker putting down the same symbols that was on Argent's map. "So, maybe where he was sacrificed is somewhere in between-" Stiles said as he traces his finger across the map when Cora grabbed his hand and guides it back to a landmark titled Beacon Hills First National. "He's in the vault- the same vault." She said.
Grabbing his helmet, Scott hurries for the door with the others behind him, al except for Cora as she pulled out her phone. "Guys, hold on-" Lydia said, "Lydia, we don't have time-" Amara said but trailed off when she sees Cora looking at her phone with a troubled expression. "Cora? What's wrong?" She asked walking over to her cousin, "It's Boyd. The plan didn't work. They cut the power." Cora said looking up at all of them.
"It's just like he said... Go. I can save Deaton myself." Scott said and went to leave but Stiles stopped him, "What? Scott, what about us?"
"Cora can't get there fast enough without you. Go. We can save both of them."
â
The door to the electrical room breaks open and Cora rushes in with Amara, Stiles and Lydia right behind her, all of them glancing about a confusing array of circuit breakers. "Okay, what do we do?" Stiles asked, "Pull them. All of them." Amara said and together, they begin yanking the breakers while Cora texts Boyd.
They ran into the loft but too late. There Boyd laid in the puddle if water in front of Derek with blood on his stomach. Cora rushes to Boyd's body, devastated. "No..." Amara said, freezing slightly as she realized if she was just a minute earlier, she could have saved him.
Amara slowly walk over to them and comfortingly grabbed Derek's shoulder whole crouching down next to him. "Can you heal him?" Derek asked in a low voice making Amara shake her head, "It's too late... I'm sorry." She said in a slight whisper as tears clouded her eyes.
