Chapter 16: Ch 16: Zarrazax

Paul and Paula ran away as I was having a stare off with this god.

“What about your lover, what is she going to think if she hears that you are hitting on other women?” Zarrazax got a nervous tick.

“She doesn’t mind…”

“Sure… how about you find someone else to harass I’m quite busy!”

“Yes! Yes! A woman with spice! You are coming with me!” He tried to grab me but I slapped him across the face. I released the mana from my hat again and used [Torrential Downpour].

“Ugh not this shit again!” He sent a spark into the sky and the rain stopped and the sun broke out.

I used [Torrential Downpour] again. We kept changing the weather to gain the upper hand.

“Hey stop it!”

I stuck out my tongue. “Nope!” I used another [Torrential Downpour] and used [Tsunami]. Zarrazax got flushed away. I saw steam erupt from the [Tsunami] but there was enough water to douse his flames. This god is a joke. I saw a spark fly up and I shot it down with an [Azure Spear] and used [Mistflower Field].

“Shit! Glub… wait! I can’t swim!” I have no idea what the deal is with this god. He can’t even swim? I used [Azure Mist].

“Go drown and die!” He didn’t stick around this time. A fire pillar shot to the sky the moment I used [Azure Mist] and he disappeared.

I dispelled [Azure Mist] and calmed down. I sat down and waited in case he would come back. Paula and Paul approached me 30 minutes later but there was no sign of that loser returning.

“Aya are you ok?” I inspected myself.

“I think so. I’m just a bit annoyed. Losers like this are threatening the mythical races? What is going on?!”

“I don’t know… you chased him off quite swiftly. How did you do that?”

“I don’t know, I used [Azure Mist] and he instantly fled.”

“Well, your [Azure Mist] is unfairly strong. It seems even that loser realized that. You might want to just go for that combo if he returns. It will surely scare him off.”

“I guess…”

Paul looked around. “It seems this area has a new lake.”

I struck a victory pose. “Aren't I amazing?!”

We returned to Vong. I had concluded that everything was escaping from me lately. I locked myself up in my room and was working on a solution. It needed to be strong enough to restrain a god. So, like this, I can catch that loser and Verruka. I decided to alter the skill [Water Snake]. I would continue altering it and turn it into chains. I would name it [Azure Chains]! This was easier said than done. The basis was easy but it needed the right properties to be effective.

Paula had knocked on my door multiple times but I didn’t open. I needed full focus on this skill.

“Aya! Open the door! You’ve been in there for almost a week!”

“Huh, is it this late already?”

“Open the door!” I opened the door.

“Aya, before you say anything look!” Paula held a mirror in front of me and I screamed.

“Who is that? Is that me?!” Paula nodded. I ran back inside my room, grabbed everything I needed, and went to take a bath.

I thought about my progress while relaxing in my bath. Paula had left behind this strange lotion which had these small particles in it to rub into my skin. It felt like it was scratching and cleaning my skin. I need to take better care of myself. My [Azure Chain] is almost finished. I just need a magic rune that isn’t easy to get. It can only be extracted from the ambient mana if there is a low contamination. Places with low contamination are quite rare. I thought of any place that could have low contamination and my mind went back to the place where Ylia died. It was deep in the mountains and the contamination around that ancient building was unusually low. Is it possible that that building purifies the ambient mana? I need to check that out.

“Oh wow, you really have a killer body!” I looked to the side and the loser was staring at me to my horror.

“You are dead!” I stood up and threw an [Azure Spear] at him and he dodged and closed in. He grabbed my chest.

“And so soft!” I augmented my knee and kicked him in his family jewels. It seems gods have these because he was writhing on the ground. I used spatiotemporal magic to swap clothes on me and ran out of the bathing room. I grabbed my hat and staff.

“I’m sorry Paula I need to go!”

“Come back! You won’t get away with this!” The loser ran after me quite clumsily. I ran out of the house, hopped on my staff and headed toward where I had found that strange ancient building.

I noticed an eruption of fire behind me and a large fireball was following me. I released the mana from my hat and used [Azure Flower] and sent the petals after him while I flew away at max speed. I got an idea mid-flight. What if I bind this loser with [Azure Chain] after I complete it and seal him inside that ancient building? He won’t bother me anymore if I succeed. He is quite stupid so it should work. It does mean that I can’t use this to seal Verruka but I’d rather deal with Verruka than a creepy pervert loser. I flew up to the clouds and used [Cloud Siphon] and created an enormous ball of water around me. I also send clouds after the loser.

I turned any cloud that came close to him into a large [Azure Flower], which violently exploded. The sky brightened and a large flaming object came at me. It was not a [Meteor] but it looked like it. It had too much mana in it so I could only guard myself with [Water Body] and [Water Barrier]. The impact made me lose consciousness.

I woke up in a cave. No this was incorrect. This had been created after I got sent flying into a mountain. I wiped a trickle of blood from my mouth. I was relatively fine. This [Azure Aura] had saved my life. If the impact of that hit wouldn’t have killed me, getting blasted into a mountain certainly will. I checked the mana compartments in my hat. It seems that I did die and my hat provided me a burst of mana to revive. I dusted myself off. I have to be more careful. Using up a lot of mana will impact how many times my hat can revive me. I climbed out of the newly formed cave and tried to find my bearings. I was in a mountainous area and I could see the ocean in the distance. Did that loser send me flying to my destination? I used [Locate] to make sure I knew where I was.

I confirmed my location and teleported to where the strange building was. It seemed that I had some time so I started pulling the last rune I needed out of the ambient mana and completed [Azure Chain]. I saw a fireball approaching me so I used [Torrential Downpour] and sniped any spark I saw with [Azure Spear]. The fireball crashed into the ground next to me. The loser had landed in a stupid pose trying to be cool. I augmented my fist with water magic and punched him in the face.

“Ow! Is violence how you show your love?” I punched him again. He had clumsily tried to block it with his arms. The longer I fight this guy the more incompetent he seems. He finally blocked my punch.

“Ha!” I used [Waterblast] and blew him away.

“Look what you’ve done to my face!” I pointed at myself. Blood was trickling down my forehead and out of the corner of my mouth because I got sent flying.

“How about this? I will heal you if you come with me.”

I took a cute pose and used [Seduce]. “You’d do that for me?” I looked at him with puppy eyes but he blasted me with some strange golden fire. “Hey! Oh.” The golden flames healed my wounds and my face. It wasn’t even hot. I created an [Ice Mirror] and looked at myself.

“Still hot as ever. Unfortunately, you’re an idiot.” I used [Tsunami], now that my face was healed I can fight more confidently.

“But you said…” I followed up with [Azure Chains].

“Hey, wait this is different! Why can’t I move?” He tried to use normal damaging flames but the downpour was dousing them as usual. I jumped up, released the mana from my hat, created an enormous [Azure Spear], and dropped it on Zarrazax. It had pierced his torso and had pinned him to the floor. I then created an enormous [Ice hammer].

“Wait! I don’t like where this is going! How about we start out as friends first?!” I slammed the hammer into the [Azure Spear] driving it through Zarrazax body. He was screaming his lungs out and then went silent. Did I kill him?

The dust cleared and he was just passed out, still in [Azure chains]. I fist-pumped. I did it! I kicked him a couple of times and blasted him with various types of magic to vent. He was still alive but that didn’t matter. I dragged him to where the ancient building was supposed to be.
