Miranda scaled the wall with her bag, then waited for her moment then jumped down and ran to a bush, right next to the house's electrical box. She wired it with explosives, then headed around the house discreetly placing explosives all over. The guards wandered the ground, but none of them were really paying attention, all of them acting bored with their jobs, which made it easier for her.
She then snuck to the garage where she planted bombs under the limo. She hid the remote in her gun holster and then decided to cause a distraction to get inside.
She hid the duffle bag behind a bush and pulled out some grenades that Ferrel had tucked in there. There were several men standing by the gates, watching as cops suddenly pulled up outside. Great, Tyler hadn't been able to hold them off. She would have to hurry. She pulled the pin on a grenade and threw it. It landed by their feet. They glanced at it, then it exploded. Several men went flying. "Six down, thirty to go," she smiled, and she threw another grenade at the men who were headed towards the gate to investigate the explosion. She caught them by surprise and sent several more flying. She was suddenly spotted, and bullets flew over her head. She made a run for it and running around the house she scaled up the rose trellis, where she was grabbed and yanked down. One slugged her in the stomach. She gasped in pain, but she stood her ground. "Move it," they told her, and pointing their guns at her they followed her inside the house.
Tyrone met them in the hallway. "So, miss decoy, trying to play hero are you?"
"Well, someone needed to rescue the detective," she sneered.
"So, you are using your real voice now are you?" he laughed. "You sound nothing like her. It must be difficult trying to act like someone you aren't. Especially a world-famous cop."
"Well, I fooled you didn't I," she smirked.
"Search her," Tyrone growled.
The man went to search her, and she kicked out, hitting his knee. He collapsed, and the other man shot his gun. She saw it coming and ducked, so the bullet hit the man she had just kicked.
He collapsed to the ground, dead.
"Fool, I don't want her dead yet," Tyrone growled, and yanked Miranda's gun out of her holster, and then shot the other man. "Clean up this mess," he told two other men, and then he grabbed Miranda by the hand and yanked her up the stairs. He dragged her into the room where the decoy was at. He shoved her onto the bed. The decoy was sitting in a chair, tied and gagged with duct tape. She looked at Miranda desperately. Tyrone glared down at Miranda, then spotting the necklace, he ripped it off of her. "This had better be the real one," he growled.
He opened the back and examined the chip. "This is the real one, good job decoy, I am proud of you. If it had not been I would have killed you."
"You will do that anyway," she said in the decoy's voice.
"That is true, but this will prolong it for a few minutes."
He then leaned down over her. "Tell me decoy, is my property surrounded in cops?"
"How would I know? I escaped so I could come and save the detective."
"Very clever of you, but that does not matter now, as long as we stay in here, and my guards are out there to protect us. We'll be fine until I get rid of both of you."
He then walked over to Carla and ripped the duct tape off of her mouth, unfortunately, it ripped the bottom of her mask off.
While distracted for the moment, Miranda pushed the detonator. A great explosion rocked the house.
Tyrone whipped around, "What the hell just happened?
Miranda shrugged.
"Go check it out," he told a guard. He nodded and ran off, while Tyrone finished peeling Carla's mask off. A blonde girl showed underneath. Tyrone swore. He then looked over at Miranda.
"I have been holding the fake this whole time?" he roared.
"I don't know, you tell me, Tyrone, how do you know that isn't the detective's real look?" Miranda asked.
He walked over to her and taking out a knife, he sliced her jeans open. He smirked as he saw the bullet wound. "You are the real one," he snarled.
"You got me Tyrone, but that doesn't mean anything. How do you know that she is not the real detective and I have been posing as her this whole time?"
He glared at her. Then he smiled. "Because detective, your decoy is a whiner, why do you think I gagged her? She kept complaining that she would be rescued, that everyone would come and save her, so I gagged her, perhaps that was a good thing because now I know who the real detective is," he smirked. "The real Lara, if that is your name, would never whine and complain."
"That proves nothing," the blonde said, using Miranda's voice, almost perfectly. "How do you really know I'm not the real Miranda Dylan, and we have just been trading places."
Tyrone walked over to Carla then, and while distracted, Miranda pushed the remote again. Another explosion rocked the house, and some plaster fell from the ceiling.
Tyrone frowned, "The cops must be on the grounds, damn them," he said. He nodded to the other two men who were standing guard. "Get Tomori's men, tell them they are needed."
The men nodded and left the room. He then pointed Miranda's gun at Carla.
"First the fake one dies, then you detective," Tyrone said, "but I want to make you suffer a bit first," he grinned, "because of all the losses you have made me suffer."
"Tell me, Tyrone, since you are going to kill me anyway, where is your drug production?"
"Since you are about to die, then I will tell you, because who will you tell?" he laughed.
"It is next to the chop shop, are you satisfied?" he said.
A man walked into the door then with a computer, "boss, give me the chip," he said.
Tyrone nodded and handed the chip to him, but then he took the computer and sat at the desk, telling the man to watch the two women. Tyrone hit several keys on the computer. He smiled. "Good, it is the real one."
He then took the microchip back out and pocketing it, he stood. Miranda hit another button on the remote. The man saw her, and walking to her he grabbed the remote from her, as the next explosion rocked the house. The man handed it to Tyrone.
"So you are the one who has been destroying my house, very sneaky detective," he growled at her. "Where are the other bombs?" he demanded.
"There are three more on the house," she shrugged.
"Go disarm them," he told the man. He nodded and left the room. Tyrone then looked to Miranda. "You just proved you are the real detective. The fake one would have never risked her own life setting bombs around the house, not knowing if she would die or not. Very gutsy detective," he told her. He then walked to her and yanked her earrings out. "I want these back" he growled, "I don't want them tainted with your blood," he smirked.
Miranda only glared at him, not saying a word. Two men ran into the room then.
"Boss the cops are all over the property. There are at least fifty or more," one man said.
"Shoot them, and get my helicopter ready."
The men nodded and ran from the room. Tyrone looked at Miranda then at Carla. Then back to Miranda. "You are my ticket out of here detective," he told her. He grabbed her off of the bed. He then aimed the gun at Carla. "I don't need you anymore," he told her, and as he pulled the trigger, Miranda hit his shoulder hard, so the bullet hit Carla's shoulder instead of her head.
The force knocked Carla and her chair to the ground. Tyrone then aimed the gun at Miranda's head. "I will kill you now," he said.
"Now Tyrone, I am your ticket out of here, remember?" she told him.
He frowned at her and then dragged her out the door, leaving Carla behind, injured, but alive.
Tyrone dragged Miranda down the hall and stopped in the middle of the hall. He hit a small button on the wall, and a panel slid open. There was a ladder in a small closet. He grabbed her and shoved Miranda up it and soon they were out on the roof where the helicopter was. Four men stood by the helicopter with semi-automatics in their hands.
Tyrone shoved her into the helicopter, a guard climbing in after them, just as cops showed up on the roof. Two of those officers were Tyler and Cole. Tyler paled when he saw her. She smiled wryly at him, as Tyrone pushed her into the helicopter and it lifted into the air. Tyrone's men fired at the officers, but they fired back and took them down.
"What now?" Cole asked as he saw the love of his life being taken away by a mad man.
"I don't know Cole. We have no communication with Miranda now, Tyrone took her earrings that she was wearing, and who knows where he is taking her. Maybe Carla knows," Tyler said and headed back inside.
Cole nodded and followed Tyler.
The paramedics were just loading Carla onto a stretcher. She was crying.
"Where did Tyrone take Miranda?" Cole asked her.
Carla looked at him. "I don't know, he never said."
"You know you are the sorriest excuse for a cop," he told her. "Why did you think you could come and rescue Miranda all by yourself? All you did was end up getting shot, and her kidnapped."
"What are you talking about?" she said, "she is the one who came to rescue me. She was the one who went back to the hotel last night to get the real microchip."
Cole went very pale. "Tyler did you know that was Miranda?"
Tyler only shrugged. He couldn't hurt Cole.
"She had me fooled," he lied.
"Why did she act like that?" Cole asked.
"Because she wanted to make sure you didn't fall for her decoy," Tyler grinned.
"Man, I was so ticked off at her, she sure can act," he admitted.
"I know," Tyler said.
"I hope you can find her," Carla said, "She just saved my life. Tyrone was going to shoot me in the head, but Miranda hit him and he hit me in the shoulder instead. He was going to kill her too, but took her hostage instead," she sighed. "He said he was going to make her suffer first before he killed her."
Tyler frowned and turned to Cole. "Get any police chopper in the air that you can, we have to go after them."
Cole nodded and speaking into his police radio told the dispatcher to send some into the air.
"Tell her to send some cops over to that drug lab also, let's get him while we can."
Cole nodded and repeated the instructions.
Tyler then turned to Carla, "After you heal you will be sent back to Minnesota."
"Good, because I quit, I cannot handle being her anymore. How does she do it? When Tyrone dragged her out of here, she wasn't even scared. She just let him drag her out. She was headed to her death, and it seemed like she didn't even care."
"Sounds like her," Tyler nodded. "She faces death with eyes wide open."
"Please find her," Carla said, as they wheeled her out, "and if you do, thank her for me, she saved my life three times."
Cole turned to Tyler as Carla was taken out. "There are three choppers in the air, and thirty men headed to the drug lab."
"Good, I just hope she can get out of this one."
"I hope so too Tyler, I have some serious apologizing to do. You know last night when she kissed me? Her lips were familiar, but I was so ticked off that I didn't stop to realize it was her. I was a fool, and now I might be too late to tell her that I truly love her."
"I hope you get that chance," Tyler told him as they headed outside. Cole surveyed the damage of the house, grinning. Miranda was quite the lady. She had destroyed Tyrone's mansion. It was sagging at the corners, several windows gone, and his limo was smoldering all around the yard in pieces.
Tyler saw him grin. "She is good with explosives, I have to give her that," he grinned.
"I know, I was just looking at the destruction, and she killed twelve of his men with two grenades, she is seriously good."
"I know," Tyler acknowledged.
"I would gladly take her place right now," Cole said. "If we catch Tyrone he is going to pay. I will personally hunt him down and kill him if he hurts her."
"You and me both," Tyler told him.
"I will too," Chief Stratton said, walking up to them, "any word yet?"
Cole shook his head. The Chief smiled at the house. "She did that didn't she."
Cole nodded, "And she took out twelve men with two grenades."
"She is some lady," he grinned.
"I know," Cole sighed.
The Chief then looked over at Tyler. "Why didn't you tell me that Miranda was playing her own decoy?"
Tyler shrugged. "She told me not to tell anyone." He glanced at Cole.
"Hey, I thought you didn't know," Cole frowned.
"Sorry Cole, I was just protecting you. She asked me not to say anything because she wanted to get the decoy out. She felt it was her fault that she was there in the first place."
"So it was the decoy that was held here the whole time?" the Chief asked.
Tyler nodded. "Yes, it was Carla. Tyrone didn't even know that Miranda was the real thing, until a little while ago when he tore off Carla's duct tape and found out she was wearing a mask."
"I am going over to the lab," the Chief then said. "I want to see if any of those goons will talk."
The other two men nodded and watched the Chief walk away.
"I hope we can find her," Cole said, running a hand through his hair. "I will give anything to get her back."
"We all will," Tyler agreed, as the men headed to help clean up the mess.
