Tyler, Cole, Chad and the Chief met back at the precinct. Chief Johnson was already there. He had been informed of what was going on and had met them there.

"Has anyone tried calling Miranda?" Johnson asked the men. "She has a new cell, but I don't know if she will answer."

"She will if it's me," Cole said. "Give me the number."

Johnson told him and Cole dialed listening as it rang and went to a mailbox that wasn't set up.

He hung the phone back up and shook his head. "No luck."

"She'll show her face again," Tyler said. "You can bet she will. There is no way that she is going to let Tyrone get away."

Back at the hotel room, Miranda had just sat onto her bed when her cell phone rang. She frowned when she saw it was Cole. She let it ring. So he knew she was there, oh well, they wouldn't be able to find her, at least not yet. She stood up, found some pajamas and crawled into bed, wondering what the next day would bring.

She awoke the next morning to her cell phone ringing. She glanced over at it and frowned. It was Cole again, but again, she ignored it. She was not going to let them know where she was, no matter her feelings for him.

Cole hung up, frowning "She won't answer my calls," he said to Chief Stratton.

"She could be hurt," Tyler frowned.

"It is possible, but I doubt it. The decoy didn't say anything about her being injured," Stratton pointed out.

"But she was wearing black, so it could have been hard to tell," Cole frowned.

"Cole, I am pretty sure she wasn't hurt," Stratton assured.

At the hotel, Miranda got up and showered then dressed for the day in her blonde wig, a t-shirt and jeans, and blue contacts. After she had eaten breakfast from room service, she headed out.

She had her gun strapped to her ankle in case she needed it and then walked down the street. She was going to keep an eye on Tyrone's men. She was sure they would try something else since they had been thwarted the night before.

Miranda wandered the streets, acting like a tourist until she decided she was hungry. She stopped at a little outdoor café, and sitting down she ordered a sandwich and some lemonade. Just as her food was brought to her, her cell phone rang again. She smiled when she saw it was Tyler.

She sighed and answered it. "You just don't know how to leave anyone alone do you, cousin of mine," she said.

He laughed. "Good to hear you are still alive cousin of mine."

"Why wouldn't I be?"

"Last night Miranda, you didn't have a hand in that did you?"

"I have no idea what you are talking about," she said, playing innocence.

"You are not a very good liar, you know that?" he replied.

"Oh really, so where do you think I am?" she asked.

"I believe you are here in San Francisco."

"No, really? But I bought a bus ticket to Colorado."

"Yes, you did, but you never got on that bus, did you?"

"Whatever gives you that idea Tyler? Why would I waste my money on buying a ticket and not use it?" she laughed.

"Whatever, look we need to know where you are."

"Nope, sorry Tyler, and if you think you can trace my phone? Too bad, I have blocked the transmission."

"Ooh, you really are sneaky," he admitted.

"Better believe it."

"Cole wants to know if you are hurt, he is worried about you, you haven't been answering when he has called."

"Yeah, sorry about that. I don't want him to yell at me."

Tyler chuckled. "You know he is ticked that you are ignoring him."

"Yes, I am sure he is. Tell him I am sorry."

"He's right here."

"Um,"

"Miranda," Cole growled.

"Hi?" she squeaked.

"Miranda, where are you?"

"Um, somewhere."

"Miranda, was that you last night that took out those men?"

"What men?"

"You know who I am talking about Miranda. You need to tell us where you are. You need protection."

"No, I do not, and why did you go behind my back and let some stupid decoy take my place?" she asked angrily.

Cole winced and Tyler felt for him as Miranda chewed him out.

"Look, Miranda, we are doing it for your safety, love."

"Don't say that Cole. I am seriously ticked off. Why didn't you tell me that you were planning on sending in a decoy?"

"It wasn't my idea. It was your Chief and my Chief's idea."

"But you went along with it."

"I didn't have a choice, Miranda."

"Cole," she growled.

"Miranda, you are our number one priority. We are trying to protect you."

"Yes, but others are going to die, including my decoy. Tyrone will find out she is a fake."

"No, he won't."

"So you say, don't underestimate him, Cole, he is a very clever man. The decoy is going to need more protection, Tyrone wants that chip, he will get it, even if he has to cut off her head to do it."

Cole and Tyler both winced on the other end because they knew she was right.

"Look, Miranda come in, we will protect you, please, for me?" Cole begged.

"And put me in hiding again. Forget it, Cole. Look, I have things to do."

"Miranda please let me know where you are."

"No, I have to stop him before anyone else dies." She hung up then, feeling angry. She shouldn't have taken it out on Cole, but she was so ticked at him, for going along with the whole stupid plan.

"You heard her," Cole said, looking Tyler. "She won't show herself until Tyrone is brought down."

"Damn her," Tyler muttered.

"I don't even know why we are worrying about her, she can take care of herself," Chad spoke up. "We've all seen her work. Why are we so worried about her? Maybe we should let her take down Tyrone once and for all."

"No, we are doing this our way," Stratton said, looking at Johnson, who nodded.

"How is our decoy by the way?" Johnson asked.

"She is getting restless, so we are moving her tonight," Tyler said.

"Who is moving her?" Stratton asked.

"Me and a few other cops, we are going to try and show her around, we want to attract Tyrone."

"Is that wise?" Johnson asked.

"Probably not, but I have a feeling if we see him, Miranda won't be too far behind."

The other men nodded, sure Tyler was right. Cole yawned then. "I need to get home and get some sleep since I never got any last night, I will see you guys later, and let me know if you hear anything else."

"Will do," Tyler said and watched Cole walk out the door. He kind of felt bad for Cole, he was only trying to protect Miranda, all of them were, but he knew that made her more upset since they were trying to keep her safe.

Tyler turned back to the two Chiefs. "So, we wait," he said. The other two men nodded at him, wondering how long before Miranda would show herself, or if she would end up dead.

After speaking with Tyler and Cole, Miranda ate her lunch then wandered back to her hotel. She rested for a while and then waited until dark before she got into disguise again. She wanted to see what her decoy was up to tonight and if she had any more guards. She got into her car and drove to the hotel, parking down the street. She didn't have to wait long, her decoy was on the move. She watched as Tyler brought her out, then left her standing in front of the antique shop.

"Well, that was stupid," Miranda fumed, "she will be killed for sure."

But she knew that if Tyrone was driving the streets looking for her, he would spot her and pick her up, that was what they were planning on.

But the woman was shaking, she didn't act calm at all. She would blow her cover for sure. She was about to call Tyler and tell him to call off his little plan when a limo pulled up in front of the antique shop, someone jumped out and shoved her inside. Miranda waited because she knew Tyler would be following. Sure enough, she watched as a dark blue sedan started tailing the limo. She followed Tyler at a discreet distance. The limo took several turns, but Miranda didn't stay behind them, because she knew where the limo was headed, so she headed there first, and parking down the street she waited. She wasn't sure if Tyler lost them or not, but she didn't care. She had to rescue the decoy.
