NATASHAS POV

I can see you over there

Starring at your drink

Watchin' that ice sink

All alone tonight

"Hey Bobby, I'll take another beer and this woman will have-"

"I'll have another vodka. Three shots please." The woman at the bar said before turning to me, "Thanks."

I nodded, cracking open the ice cold beer Bobby placed in front of me.

"I'm Natasha by the way." I brought the bottle up to my lips and took a sip.

"I'm y/n." The y/h/c smiled softly over at me before gulping down one of her shots.

And chances are

You're sittin' here in this bar

'Cause he ain't gonna treat you right

Well, it's probably not my place

But I'm gonna say it anyway

'Cause you look like

You haven't felt the fire

Had a little fun

Hadn't had a smile in a little while

Baby

"Hate to be that woman but, what's a woman like you sitting at a bar and downing your problems in three shots of vodka?" I asked as I slightly turned my body towards hers.

"You really want to know?" Y/n raised an eyebrow at me as if challenging me.

"I wouldn't have asked if I didn't." I took another drink of my beer.

Y/n sighed, taking another shot, "My boyfriend- ex now, he um, well he cheated on me. Multiple times apparently. One of the girls told me. She didn't know he had a girlfriend."

"Fuck him. You don't need him." I shook my head as a bitter taste hit the back of my throat. What kind of guy would cheat on this woman? I mean, she was beautiful as hell but I'm sure that was the only reason he stayed. He didn't want to know her mind, soul and spirit before her body. Relationships built on lust don't last.

"Yeah.." y/n swallowed before silence fell between us.

Blue looks good on the sky

Looks good on that neon buzzin' on the wall

But darling, it don't match your eyes

I'm tellin' you

You don't need that guy

It's so black and white

He's stealin' your thunder

Baby, blue ain't your color

"You came to this bar to drown your pain, right?" I asked y/n after a heartbeat of silence.

"Yeah." She nodded.

"Well, lets have fun instead. Show him that you're bigger than him and that you can do so much better."

"Look, you're a nice girl but I'm not going home to have a one night stand with you." Y/n shook her head.

"That's not what I meant. There are other ways to have fun than just fuck. Let me show you." I offered her my hand, my half empty beer becoming long forgotten.

If all the guys she's been with definition of fun was to fuck, then she's been hanging with the wrong crowd her entire life and I wanted to be the one to change her perspective.

"...okay." Y/n agreed after a moment, taking my hand as I led her towards the old karaoke machine.

I'm not tryna

Be another just

Pick you up

Kinda guy

Tryna drink you up

Tryna take you home

But I just don't understand

How another man

Can take your sun

And turn it ice cold

"So what about you?" Y/n took a sip of water as we fell into an empty booth, breathing heavily after many rounds of singing and dancing.

"What about me?" I raised an eyebrow at her.

"You're alone in this bar too." Y/n stated.

"I'm not alone if I'm with you." I smiled at her.

Y/n playfully rolled her eyes as the corners of her lips curled into a small smile, "You know what I meant." She said softly.

I sighed, "Would you believe me if I told you I come here just for fun? My friend Carol and I come to this bar all the time."

"Wheres Carol now?" Y/n asked as she rested her head on the palm of her hand. Her chubby cheeks looking so cute.

"Sick with the flu. But I think I got someone better then Carol with me tonight. Don't tell her I said that." I teased as y/n giggled.

Well, I've had enough to drink

And it's makin'

Me think that I just might

Tell you if I were a painter I wouldn't change ya

I'd just paint you bright

Baby

Cause blue looks good on the sky

Looks good on that neon buzzin' on the wall

But darling, it don't match your eyes

I'm tellin' you

You don't need that guy

It's so black and white

He's stealin' your thunder

Baby, blue ain't your color

No no no

Blue ain't your colour baby

Blue looks good on the sky

Looks good on that neon buzzin' on the wall

But darling, it don't match your eyes

I'm tellin' you

You don't need that guy

It's so black and white

He's stealin' your thunder

Baby, blue ain't your color

"You sure you don't want me to come home with you?" I asked worriedly as I stood with y/n as we waited on her Uber.

"I told you, we're not fucking."

"That's not what I meant." I laughed under my breath, "I just meant are you going to be okay alone? Considering-"

"That I got cheated on? I'll be okay, Nat. Don't worry about me."

"I can't help it." I whispered under my breath so y/n couldn't hear.

"Here's my number." Y/n handed me a piece of paper with numbers written in pen just as her Uber pulled up to the curb.

"Call me sometime." She said before closing the door and the car drove off.

"Oh I will." I smiled.

Blue ain't your color, umm mm

No, no baby

Call me baby

Let me light up your world
