Josh's POV

Damn that Adira. Of all the people to get paired with, I got stuck with the frustratingly attractive and equally as unpopular Adira. From her curly blonde hair to her pouty lips, she made me fight an internal battle everytime she walked into the room: did I want her despite her boring personality? On top of that, I was known as the-- I don't know what girls call it-- player? That means I get all the ladies and now she completely ruined it. Okay, maybe it wasn't all her fault, but I knew that she would just love for me to be the perfect baby daddy when that is the last thing that I wanted. It was better not to get involved.

After tossing her stupid book, I stormed away from the Nerd Willow as the crowd watched wide eyed. I glared at all of them, throwing intimidation at the skinny guys and a smooth look to any watching girl. I didn't care about this marriage thing. I still had game.

When I got to my first class, luck would have that who walked in-- Adira. She had a new book in her hand as she walked in late, I'm suppose coming from the library I'd never been too. She sat down next to me after the teacher instructed.

"Hello class," said our teacher, Mr. Detlaf. He rubbed his bald head, seeming awkward "Even though before this was Algebra, the school mandates this now be Family Preparation. I don't really have much training in this-- then again I really didn't have any training in Algebra either, but I was a banker before the plague-- so bare with me. Today you are all gettting tested for STD's," at this, the whole class groaned. I saw Adira give me a wary look. I glared at her and she hid beneath her hair. Like I had STD's. I may not always use a condom, and I sleep with a lot of girls, and they've slept with a lot of guys but.....

Well shit.

One by one the students went to go get tested, and while that was happening Mr. Detlaf handed out an assignment full of questions to ask our new partners. I gave an audible groan of frustration upon recieving ours.

"Problem Mr. Fauxgard?" asked Mr. Detlaf wryly. I smirked and replied sarcastically.

"Oh, nothing Mr. Detlaf. I don't mind being married to a stranger at all," I growled. Mr. Detlaf rolled his eyes.

"Trust me, it could be much worse Joshua. And besides, Adira is a lovely girl," he said. At this Adira cringed, as no one wants to be defended by a teacher. I smirked at her to rub it in and she blushed a deeper red. It was almost cute.

Mr. Detlaf walked away and I looked over the stupid assignment.

"I'm not doing this," I said, crumbling the paper and tossing it aside. Quietly, Adira walked over, picked it up, and uncrumbled it. She sat down beside me. After smoothing out the wrinkles, she spoke.

"It's a for a grade," she stated.

"So?" I said. She sighed in frustration and once again I reveled in her pain.

"So, I have a 4.0 and really need money to go to college," she stated, not meeting my eyes. I chuckeled.

"You seriously think you're going to college after having my kid?" I said. Even I knew that was a mean thing to say, and I saw her fac register the remark. Instead of getting mad, she looked down at the paper and traced the wrinkles with her finger.

"Just answer the questions with me, dammit," she muttered. I rolled my eyes and grabbed the paper. She could be such a kicked puppy.

"It's just a game of twenty questions," I said, looking at the assignment "Okay, so the first is your sexual history. I'm assuming for a nerd like you, I will put zero partners--" she didn't say anything in defense and I chuckled hautily "And for me I will put 'expert level'."

"As if," murmured Adira. Excuse me? I twisted around and looked her right in the eyes. I saw her breath catch and hands begin to shake. Good. Right where I needed her. I got super close, touching her chin lightly, our lips inches from each other.

"Do you really mean that, Adira sweetie?"
