As we finished dinner, I suggested we talk in our bedroom, away from the eyes and ears of the palace staff. Mayura nodded, and we walked to OUR room.
I took a deep breath, my heart pounding in my chest. "Mayura, I know I've made mistakes," I began, my voice low and gentle. "Iâm truly sorry."
Mayura looked at me, her eyes searching mine. "You donât have to be, Abhimaan," she said softly. "It wasnât your fault to begin with."
I felt a weight lift off my shoulders, a sense of relief washing over me. "Thank you, jaana," I said, my voice filled with emotion.
We sat there in silence for a moment, the only sound being the beating of our hearts.
"How did you do this, Mayura?" I asked, my curiosity piqued. "How did you manage to find that clip so easily?"
Mayura looked a little nervous, as if she was about to share a secret . Then, she smirked. Yes, she actually smirked!
"Jaana, whatâs going on?" I asked, my voice laced with a mix of curiosity and caution. "What are you hiding?"
But she just kept smirking, her eyes sparkling with mischief. And I knew right then and there that I was in trouble. Big trouble.
She smiled and smirked, this time even hotter. "Comeon abhimaan not so easily try harder ," she said, her voice husky and playful.
I was surprised, but I couldnât help but tease her back. "You want the Abhimaan Deep Shekhawat, to beg? You want me to grovel at your feet?"
Mayura just laughed, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Maybe just a little," she said, her voice dripping with sass.
I didnât beg, instead, I threw a challenge. "Oh, really? You want me to beg? Well, Iâm afraid thatâs not going to happen, Wifey ," I said, a teasing glint in my eye. "Iâm the king, after all. I donât beg."
Mayuraâs eyes narrowed, her smirk still in place. "Then I have to reconsider!?" she asked, her voice playful yet firm.
"Ah, so now the Queen is manipulating?" I said, a sly grin spreading across my face. "But be warned, Wifey â¦if you lose, youâll have to accept our marriage, no questions asked."
Mayuraâs eyes sparkled with excitement, and she leaned in closer, her voice barely above a whisper. "Iâm not afraid of a little challenge, Abhimaan. Bring it on."
We went to our bed, this time, we both had smiles on our faces. We climbed into bed, and as we settled in, I turned to Mayura and wished her a goodnight. She smiled back at me, her eyes already drooping with exhaustion.
"Goodnight, Abhimaan," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
"Goodnight, Jaana," I replied, my voice soft and gentle.
The next morning, I woke up to the most breathtaking sightâMayura, sleeping peacefully, her beauty radiant even in slumber. I couldnât resist the urge to gently kiss her forehead, my lips barely grazing her skin. She stirred slightly but didnât wake up. I smiled and got out of bed, starting my morning routine.
An hour later, I was adjusting my watch when I caught a glimpse of Mayura waking up through the mirror. I teased her playfully, "Ah, finally, the heavy sleeper awakens!"
Mayura huffed, her eyes still half-closed, but a smile was breaking through. "Shut up, Abhimaan," she muttered, her voice husky from sleep.
I chuckled and turned around, my eyes locking onto hers. "Good morning, Jaana," I said, my voice filled with warmth. "Did you sleep well?"
Mayura nodded, her smile growing wider. "I did, thank you for asking."
I walked over to her side of the bed and offered her my hand, helping her sit up. "Letâs start the day, shall we?" I said, my eyes sparkling with excitement.
Mayura narrowed her eyes, her gaze piercing as she stared at me, investigating something. Then, out of nowhere, she dropped a bombshell. "No, youâre not dropping me off at college," she said, her voice firm and authoritative.
I was taken aback, my mind racing. How did she know? Was it that obvious on my face? I stuttered, "Mayura, I was just...just thinking ofâ¦"
But Mayura cut me off, her smile sly and knowing. "Abhimaan Deep Shekhawat, youâre not as sneaky as you think you are," she said, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
I was stunned. I just fucking stuttered. The ABHIMAAN DEEP SHEKHAWAT STUTTERED?? How did she know me so well? Could she read my mind? I felt like I was under a spotlight, my every thought and intention exposed. I couldnât help but wonder what else she knew, what other secrets she had uncovered.
"Mayura, how...how did you know?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
She just laughed, a throaty, husky sound that sent shivers down my spine. "Letâs just say, I have my ways, dear husband," she said, her eyes gleaming with mischief.
As Mayura turned to make a quick escape to the washroom, I caught her by the wrist and spun her back around. She gasped, her eyes sparkling with surprise as I pulled her close to me.
"Wait, ," I whispered, my voice low and husky. "You called me 'husband '?"
Mayuraâs cheeks flushed, and she looked up at me with a sly smile. "Maybe I did," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her closer, my heart racing with excitement. "Call me again ?" I asked, my lips brushing against her ear.
Mayura shivered, her body melting into mine. ", Abhimaan, sometimes I forget that youâre my husband, and not just the king," she said, her voice husky and seductive.
I groaned, my lips tracing the curve of her neck. "And what makes you forget, my wifey ?" I whispered, my hands roaming over her back.
Mayuraâs eyes locked onto mine, her gaze burning with desire. "The way you look at me, the way you touch meâ¦it makes me forget everything except that Iâm yours," she said, her voice barely audible.
I crushed my lips to hers, devouring her mouth with a passionate kiss. "And Iâm yours, Mayura," I whispered, my heart pounding in my chest.
As we sat down for breakfast, I couldnât help but check my phone for recent updates. What I saw made my eyes widen in surprise. My business and stocks had skyrocketed overnight, just like they had before. I couldnât believe it. It was all because of my Jaana, Mayura. She had a magic touch, and everything she did seemed to bring me success.
Just then, I noticed Mayura was engrossed in her phone, her fingers flying across the screen as she chatted with someone. I raised an eyebrow, curious about who she was talking to.
"Whoâs that?" I asked, trying to sound casual.
Mayura looked up, a sly smile spreading across her face. "Just my girlfriends," she said, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
I pretended to be hurt, my eyes widening in fake shock. "Oh, so now you have your friends and youâre forgetting about your poor husband?" I teased, my voice laced with playful drama.
Mayura laughed, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Abhimaan, who will believe you are that devil of underworld ?" she said, rolling her eyes. "I can have friends and a husband, canât I?"
I pouted, my lower lip jutting out in a pretend sulk. "I guess so, but only if you promise to make time for me too," I said, my voice softening.
