Chapter 56

" We've Got This. "

Rochelle Quinn's POV:

Warning: Rape and Childhood Sexual, Mental and Physical Abuse Mentioned

"Before you said that boys can't be raped." He breaths out, his voice breaking at the last word. "If boy's can't be raped, if people don't rape boys, then why did you rape me?"

The only answer Kenzie received was silence.

Dangerous, deafening silence.

Kace reacted first, after a moment's pause, instantly moving to his father's body and kicking him, and kicking him, and kicking him. He pulled the man up by his collar and pound a fist into his bloody face. And another, and another.

"He's my kid brother. You promised me you would never hurt them, you swore. I'll kill you, I'm going to fucking kill you." He screamed, and this time none of his brothers tried to stop him as he beat his dad senseless.

Kane and Kade looked at their father blankly, with no traces of sympathy.

But Keegan looked at Kenzie, yet his face wasn't pitiful or empathetic. It was reassuring and kind, the exact thing Kenzie needed to see at this moment.

He went up to his brother and tried to hug him, but Kenzie pushed him away and stood straight. He was still desperately trying to act cold, uncaring. But I knew that he needed his brothers more than anything right now.

Keegan ignored him, and forced him into a hug, holding his brother gently.

"You're my big brother, let me look after you for once." Kenzie clutched onto his kid brother like he did to me. If we wasn't in this situation, I would've found this scene cute.

Goth brother connects with Cinderella.

It would've been a great story to tell.

"I believe you, Kenzie." Kenzie cried as Keegan said the very words that meant everything to a survivor of trauma. "I'm never going to let him hurt you again."

The picture was almost perfect.

Until the sound of smashing could be heard.

Kane had joined his twin in beating their dad.

Kade was now on the phone, muttering quickly under his breath. I could only assume it was to his brothers. I'm almost certain that Alec, Ivan and Sky would be arriving very soon.

And Mrs Jensen had gone back to screaming.

"He's your father." She shouted. The women seemed more angry at her sons then her husband and I couldn't understand how that could be.

"He's a dick!" "He isn't my father." The twins argued at the same time.

Kace glared dangerously at his parents. "That man stopped being a father the moment he raped my brother. The moment he hit my sister. The moment where his wife is more angry at the victim rather than the criminal."

He called me his sister.

"I think you should leave, both of you." Keegan addressed his parents circumspectly, watching his mother shatter in front of him.

"Us? This is our home Keegan! Surely you don't believe this...this madness! Your father would never do anything to purposely harm any of you! It was probably some twink that he fucked!" Mrs Jensen argued, her bloodshot eyes showed disbelief and annoyance and it took everything in me to not break her nose into tiny, minuscule pieces.

"No it isn't. This is a family home, and you're no longer our family." The blonde haired boy replied, his expression didn't falter as his mother reached out for him. He only responded by stepping away, tightening his fists. "And I believe my brother. You said it yourself Mom, he was nine years old."

"You can't make us leave." Mrs Jensen's face started to switch, her emotions appeared like her husbands. And then I saw her for what she really was; A snake dressed in expensive armor.

"No but the police can." Kade placed his phone on the table, having hung up the call just a few moments ago. "And Dad's boss can. Unless you want him to find out that his employer is a paedophile and a rapist." Kenzie flinched at the blunt terms. "Then I suggest you leave. Now."

Mrs Jensen grabbed her husband and dragged him up. She took the car keys left on the side and came over to me and Kenzie.

"You're no son of mine. This is all your fault." Her hand raised as though going to slap him, I caught her wrist and twisted it in my brutal grip.

I dived on her, pounding my fist into her face. Again and again until my hand was covered in her sickly blood. My knuckles split open on the third punch, yet I continued despite the obvious crack which sounded through the air.

No one tried to stop me, not even her own sons.

"Leave, Bitch." She coughed blood out of her mouth and clutched her cracked nose. Jenny grabbed hold of the woman and pulled her out of the house. She came back for the pathetic excuse of a man and dragged him out of our sight by his ankles, sparing no mind to his head hitting the floor again after every slight movement.

"No one finds out about this. I never visited and they never left. Rocky, you're 19 now. Your probation officer gave the all clear and you can stay here with the residents consent." My social worker spoke quickly, before grabbing the car keys and rushing out of the door.

"You have my consent." Kace added, looking at me with a newfound respect in his eyes. I nodded my head gratefully and went to shake his hand, and to my disappointment he shook his head.

"Don't be stupid." He opened his arms and hugged me tightly, "Thank you for looking after Kenz."

I smiled slightly, "No problem, Dickwad."

"I'll kill him." A voice growled darkly.

I spun around to face my brothers. Alec, Ivan and Sky stood in the doorway, with a range of guns and knives in their possession. I almost laughed at the seriousness on their faces. Alec's eyes zeroed in on the newforming bruise on my cheek, he looked infuriated.

"Which one?" He growled again, holding up his knife and pointing it at each of the brothers.

"None, Al." I tried to laugh but I ended up wincing as the pain on my jaw kicked in. "It was their father."

"He won't be their father much longer." Sky told them matter-of-factly, twirling his pocket knife around his fingers. My pain always seemed to bring out a side to them that nobody would recognise.

I shook my head and tried to smile. "I don't think they care at the moment."

That confused them.

Keegan guided Kenzie out of the room. But he looked back at me and nodded his head, letting me know that it was okay to inform my brothers of his fathers monstrosity.

"He...he abused Kenzie when he was younger." I whispered, looking straight at Ivan as he caught my worried gaze. They knew what I meant by abuse almost instantly.

Alec and Sky also looked at Ivan too, but his eyes were solely on me.

"What?" Sky's eyes hardened as he gazed back at me.

"Why are you looking at each other like that?" Kade asked, puzzled.

I hesitated, lacing my fingers together nervously. "We grew up in a rough area, physical and sexual abuse wasn't uncommon."

"Ivan....?" Kade left the rest of the question unspoken, but it was clear to everyone what he was asking.

Alec looked at the floor while Ivi avoided looking at anybody. My lip shook as I tried not to cry at the horrifying memories.

"Oh my god." Kade mumbled disbelievingly.

"I killed him." I confessed nonchalantly, staring at the wall blankly. "The...monster who did it- Bulldog. I killed him."

"The reason you was in Juvie - Oh. Why...Why did you call him bulldog?" Kace questioned, confusion lining his tone.

"He had a bulldog tattoo, on the top of his thigh. I used a knife to cut through it when I did it." I stated calmly, taking a deep breath. Ivan's shaking breathing echoed across the room, Alec took his brothers hand in his and gave it a tight squeeze.

"How did you get done for involuntary manslaughter then?" Kane's eyebrows furrowed as he asked the one question that I had asked myself for so long.

"Lawyer pulled some strings so that I had to see a shrink. Called it Complex PTSD, repressed anger, psychotic episode, wasn't in my right mind. Said I didn't mean to kill him, I only intended to get answers for what happened to me. Sentenced me to a year and compulsory counselling sessions. " I said in a monotone, "Supposed to take medication as well but it makes me too happy, doesn't feel right."

"So he...hurt you all, like that?" Kace inquired carefully, to which I shook my head.

"No. It was physical and mental with us. Beating us a bit, locking us in a dark room for the night. All of them protected me from the worse of it though, even young Skylar." I smiled sadly and ruffled the delinquents hair. "I..." I couldn't say the words. My eyes clenched shut and I tried to slow my breathing. "I'll never forget how fucked up that home was."

Kace put his head in his hands, pulling gently on his own hair. "I can't believe this happened."

"I wanna kill that Sonovabitch." Kane muttered, sitting down next to his twin brother.

I could sense them then. Kenzies soft scent drifted into my nostrils so I knew that Keegan would be with him. My back was still to the door and I didn't react, I didn't let them know that I knew they were there.

"Kenzie has strength that I admire. He'll always be stronger than we'd ever be able to comprehend. Come to think of it...he'll always be stronger than he thinks as well." I say truthfully.

"I wouldn't have gotten through it without you, Rae."

I grinned softly at Kenzie and pulled him into a hug.

"We've got this, Kenz. I'm proud of you." I mumbled in his ear.

"Was it really my fault, Rae?" He muttered quietly, yet the brothers could still hear him thanks to the deafening silence across the home. "Did I provoke him?"

Ivan answered for me, speaking up for the first time. A bitter sparkle of strength illuminated his green eyes. "No. It happened to me too. It wasn't our fault."

Alec continued after noticing Ivan's difficulty at talking, "The only person who can be blamed for rape and abuse is the abuser themselves. It is never the survivors fault. Don't you dare forget that."

Remember what Alec said...

It is never the victims fault.
