Chapter 48

" The Kings "

Rochelle Quinn's POV:

"Stay here and only come in when I shout to you." I commanded quietly, my gaze moving from each of my friends.

"Dude, I don't know about you but I think revenge is long overdue." Reagan spoke with hostility, his eyes unnaturally cold.

Bodhi hit his brothers back, "I know, bro, we'll get them back for what they did to Rocky."

I ignored the statement.

"I'm going in." I nodded my head at them, pausing once I held the door handle. I looked back, "No one else gets hurt but them."

I walked into the building, eyebrows furrowed at the isolated state of the corridor.

A hand unexpectedly grabbed my arm. I swung around with a clenched fist, making contact with the person's jaw without thinking.

"Ow!" Kane cried out, holding his hand up to the newly forming bruise. "What was that for?!"

"Why the fuck are you still here?!" I exclaimed, purposely ignoring his question.

"We stayed so we could protect you." Another voice replied, making me realise that Kace, Kenzie and Keegan stood behind him.

" You stayed to protect me?" I snorted, finding humour in the statement. "Looks like I'm in trouble then."

Kenzie looked at me with a solemn gaze, but didn't comment.

Keegan spoke up, his voice shaking from fear. "They have knives, Rock, you need to run. They could hurt you."

I shook my head at him, a small smile tattooing my lips. "We don't run Keegan, not when you're a Diamond. We stand our ground and we fight. No matter what."

"What if you get hurt?" Kenzie asked demurely, it was so quiet that I almost didn't catch it.

"Me? Get hurt? Never." I chuckled, "I wouldn't ever let the Rossi's stand alone. The Kings and Dean want revenge on Alec, so they'll want revenge on me too."

"They're in the Cafeteria. We don't know where Alec or Sky are." Kace told me hesitantly.

I nodded my head in gratitude, surging forward in the direction of the Cafeteria.

Kenzie grabbed my arm, lowering his head to my ear. "Don't do this, Rocky. You wouldn't do this if you cared about me."

I yanked my arm from his grip. I spat my words at him, angered by his pathetic way of trying to stop me. "They're my family. No one hurts them."

A slow clap echoed through the silent corridor, breaking me away from the brothers.

"Brilliant performance, Quinn."

Masking my surprise and painting a smirk on my face, I pushed Kenzie away from me.

"Oh, Jayden, I've missed you."

He came out from around the corner, a pocket knife held securely in his hand. "That was a heartwarming performance, Rochelle. I even had to wipe away a stray tear my eye."

I laughed at his taunting tone, completely ignoring the brothers behind me and the usage of my name. "I'm glad I managed to entertain you, King."

He stepped closer to me, pointing the knife in my direction. "You won't save them, you know?"

I chuckled again, yet I knew it sounded more haunting than amused. "What you gonna do with that, Jayden? Stab me? I'd like to see you try."

I could literally feel the brothers tense up behind me as I stepped forward until we were just inches away from each other. I attacked first, swinging my arm backwards and hitting his nose. He stumbled back, his other hand unconsciously moving up to stop the bleeding. My fist swung skillfully into the boy's ribs, causing him to cry out in pain. He was unprepared and obviously thought I wouldn't be as experienced as I was now. He fell to the floor, and I used the opportunity to straddle his waist and hit him continuously in the face.

Shock radiated off the Jensens behind me and I knew that I would regret my actions later on.

"You came here to attack my brothers. Your family's stupider than I first thought."

Punch.

"Stab me, Jayden."

Punch.

"Fucking stab me."

Punch.

"I can't." He wheezed out, coughing as my legs tightened their grip on his body. Only furthering the pain in his ribs.

Punch.

"Why not?!"

Punch.

"Killian." He panted, clenching his eyes shut. "Killian."

My fist paused in mid air.

Killian King.

I had forgotten about Killian.

"What about him?" I managed to ask, yet I dreaded the answer.

He opened his eyes slowly. I bit my lip as I took in the anxious expression on his young face. "He would kill me if I ever hurt you."

A sharp pain erupted in my heart at the thought of seeing Killian again. I didn't reply to his words.

The King's were the rival gang that the Black Diamonds were against when I was younger. Their leader has had beef with Bodhi for years, even from before I met them. Despite my consistent rivalry with Jayden, my past with Killian always found a way to prevent any unnecessary pain between us. I never shared the same amount of hatred for them as the others did.

He saved me just like Alec and the others had.

But unlike them, he saved me from his brothers.

"They have Sky." His breaths came out slowly and pained, "In the Cafeteria. They won't hurt him until Alec shows up."

"Okay." I shuffled off the boy, facing the Jensens. "Kenzie, take Keegan and Jay to the boys locker room with Kade. Make sure the idiot doesn't drop down dead. Kane and Kace, go outside and tell Zach to stay in the car with Ivi. Tell the others to come to the Cafeteria, and tell Alec I said no knives."

"How do you know Alec will be there?" Kane asked, confused.

I sent him a smirk, "I know my brother. He'll be there."

I sauntered into the Cafeteria as a Black Diamond would: Confident, ruthless and determined. I stayed hidden from sight, shaking my fist off as a way to get rid of the pain.

Kace was right when he said the entire family was here.

All the brothers, minus Jayden, and the sister were stood in the centre of the room. Sky stood restrained in between two of them- who I soon recognised as Elliot and Brett. Jackson Dean was right behind him.

Considering I hadn't seen them in years, they had barely changed.

Royal King's presence radiated pride and respect as though they were solely made for him. A signature smirk illuminated his face as his blue eyes twinkled with mischief. That boy was an epidemic of courage.

Liam stood beside his elder brother, not bothering to hide the knife forced into his pocket. His smile caused the girls to swoon despite being sat terrified in their seats.

The brothers fed off fear.

The twins were sat on the only empty table in the room, observing the behaviour of everyone in their sight. Charlie and Cole King are deadly. Everyone always says you need to look out for the quiet ones, and the twins only furthered that argument. Unlike the rest of their brothers, they sat back and observed. Searching for strengths and weakness'. They may not fight often, but God forbid anyone ever hurt either of them.

Brett held Sky's shoulder, keeping him in place. He was the brother which I hated the most. He wasn't just a bad boy; He was a bad person as well. Evil through and through. He paid no mind to people who weren't like him.

I'd be lying if I said I never had a soft spot for Elliot. Don't mistaken me, he can be just as merciless as the rest of his brothers. But he was just a kid, at the end of the day. Just a kid who tried to follow what his older brothers did and impress them.

And then the last brother stood silently away from his brothers. His head lowered slightly and his messy, dark hair covered his face.

A whistle echoed across the room, yet I ignored it as my eyes reminded glued to the man.

His head shot up, giving me the perfect view of his face.

My breathing hitched.

It's in the eyes.

It was always the eyes.

His eyes made him different from the others. Not a icy blue or a dazzling brown.

His eyes were green, like pine. And I guess I can say I got lost in the woods every time I looked at them.

My chest constricted at the emotionless expression tattooed onto his face, it appeared so different from the child I knew all those years ago. My heart still beat against my ribs, aching for the soothing touch in which it received during one of the worst experiences of my life.

Killian King never failed to get my heart racing.

The whistle sounded again, finally breaking my stare away from him.  Layton's half smile, half smirk soon come into my view as she sat high on a table, despite narrowing her eyes at the knife's bulge in Liam's jacket.

"You do realize who he is don't you?" Her sarcastic voice could've been heard from miles away, the deafening silence had finally broke apart.

Royal King raised a brow at her, obviously questioning her undeniable confidence. "I know who he is."

The power in his voice sent shivers down my spine; I didn't walk out of the shadows.

Layton kissed her teeth, "Then you're fucked."

She continued before the anger in Royal's eyes reproduced, "Because if you know who he is, then you know who's coming for him. Trust me, Sweetie, that ain't good."

The blond brother spoke up, releasing his hold on Sky's shoulder, brandishing a knife from thin air and pointing it in her direction. I gritted my teeth.

" Alec, Ivan and Jesse are no match for us." Brett hissed, tightening his grip on the blade as a threat.

Yet to their surprise, and my own, she smirked at them once again. A devilish spark lit up in her eyes. "I'm sure his sister is though."

Her words appeared to catch the others attention; All of their gazes were fixed upon her.

Liam's eyes diverted from Brett to Royal, confusion dominant on his features. "And what is this sister like?"

Voices began speaking up from all across the Cafeteria.

" Fucking crazy."

"She's badass, bro. Kicked Dean's ass and Jensen's."

"You're screwed man."

Sky's eyes closed and a smile lay idly on his face, all the brothers glared at his words, aside from Killian.

Elliot's small voice was heard next, a sprinkle of fear relighting in his tone. "Who is she?"

The sound of footsteps could then be heard.

Nobody spoke.

I stopped in front of Royal and Liam, crossing my arms as my lips moved upwards.

Sky's voice came out in a whisper, knowing exactly what had happened whilst still having his eyes closed. "Rochelle Quinn."

*********

What is Rochelle going to do??

And who are these people? How do they tie into Rocky's past?

Enjoy and thank you for reading!
