51 Stealing My Man From Me?
After the happy breakfast time, Joseph went to work and Charlie left to attend some social activities. Isabella just stayed in the Wilson Manor to rest herself.
Charlie had asked William to ask a day off for her so that she could rest.
With piles of delicacies in the kitchen in front of her, Isabella accepted this decision with satisfaction.
âGrandpa, take care.â
As the Wilsons had very strict family rules, everyone, from servants to Joseph and Isabella, needed to escort Charlie to the main door and watch him leave. Only when Charlie disappeared out of the sight would Joseph go upstairs to change into a suit.
Isabella stood at the door with one foot and was about to go back when she saw a kitten with tiger-skin patterns quickly passing through the bushes.
âWhat? Are there cats in the manor?â wondered Isabella.
âThey are street cats.â
William also saw the kitten walk through the bushes and said with a smile, âIt must be seeking some food here. The manor is very big and in the suburbs where few people would travel. It is very common to see them in and out.â
.....
âI see.â Isabella said excitedly, âIâll go out for a walk later and see if I can see them. I like small animals very much.â
When her father, Aaron, was still alive, Isabella remembered that they kept a pet cat at home.
Later, she had to move into the Smiths with her mother after her fatherâs death. The cat seemed to be thrown away or gave away.
At that time, she had been sad for a long time.
âMiss Isabella, if you like animals, you can go to the zoo in the southwest corner of the manor. Iâll ask the maid to accompany you.â William suggested.
âA zoo?â Isabella said happily, âCan I go? Then I...â
âHow could you go? They donât like idiots like you!â
Joseph walked down the stairs and put on his coat while saying coldly, âIf your foot is well, then you can go to school. I didnât build the manor for you to visit for fun.â
Hearing this, Isabella immediately lowered her head out of disappointment, but she didnât dare to retort Joseph, who clearly was in a bad mood. God knew why he acted so angrily in the morning. Isabella said honestly, âI will stay in my room and rest today. I wonât go anywhere.â
Joseph snorted coldly and went straight out the door.
Looking at his tall and handsome back, Isabella sighed, âIsnât Joseph a bit schizophrenic? Why does he always turn against me every time the conversation goes well? Even if he doesnât like me, he doesnât need to be mean to me, right? I did nothing to provoke him.â
William smiled and explained, âMr. Joseph has been like this since he brought you back last night. Perhaps itâs because he is anxious about your wound.â
âHe is anxious for me?â
Isabella seemed to have heard a big joke. She gestured to William, âWilliam, you werenât at the hospital yesterday. When I was in the hospital getting treated, he looked like as if I owed him a lot of money! He asked someone to carry me and leave! He didnât even care if I like it or not!â
William still smiled and said, âDoctor Morris is an expert and can give your wound a better care so it would heal more effectively. You misunderstood Mr. Joseph.â
âNo way! I misunderstood him? Thatâs not the point! The point is his attitude!â
Isabella expressed her dissatisfaction as she putting her hands on her waist angrily, âI have become a limp. Why canât he be nice to me? Iâm not demanding him, but he scolded me many times along the way! He accused me of being self-overestimated and indiscreet in my speech and act. He said that I just sowed the seeds of my own ruin. Have I offended him before?â
Williamâs facial expression froze for a while and he said, âThat could be ... well, that Mr. Joseph regretted that he didnât protect you well...â
âWhat?â
Unable to continue this topic, William directly changed to another one, âSpeaking of which, Miss Isabella, I made a lot of desserts for you since I knew that you wonât go to school today... â
âWow! Really, can I go directly to the kitchen and pick some for myself?â Sure enough, Isabella was more interested in food.
âOf course.â William smiled.
Since neither Joseph nor Charlie would come back for lunch, Isabella spent most of the day in a carefree manner.
The chef, maids and even William were all very fond of this cheerful and lively girl.
Probably because the atmosphere of the Wilsons was too depressing, everyone felt very comfortable when they met such a fun hostess.
However, good time never lasted long. Not long after the lunch time, Isabellaâs bad luck returned.
A call from the Smiths urged her to go back immediately.
It was from Rosa. When on the phone, Rosa spoke in a low voice.
After thinking for a long time, Isabella couldnât figure out what she had done that might provoke Carl recently. So she gave up and asked William to prepare a car to take her to the nearby streets.
Then she limped back to the Smithsâ house.
As soon as she entered, Isabella immediately felt a tense atmosphere.
Rosy sat on the sofa in a professional suit, with her arms crossed and a cold expression on her face.
Apparently, she came back directly from the company.
Carl also looked strange.
âRosy, hi.â Isabella greeted carefully.
âYouâre finally back?â
Rosy sneered. Before Isabella could change her shoes, Rosy stood up and walked over angrily. She kicked Isabellaâs injured right foot without any reason!
âRosy, what are you doing?â
Isabella screamed in pain. Seeing that, Rosa immediately stood up and asked worriedly, âIsabella!â
âWhat am I doing?â
Rosy pulled up Isabellaâs ponytail and questioned, âI should be the one asking you this question.â
As she spoke, Rosy took out a newspaper and pulled Isabellaâs head upwards and said, âYou dare to steal my man from me. Do you want to die?â
On the front page of the newspaper, the headline read âThe mysterious girlfriend of Lukas Shaw, the famous young actorâ and there was a photo of Isabella hugging Lukas tightly in the hospital attached.
Of course, the picture of Lukas comfortably kissing Isabellaâs forehead was also captured by the paparazzi.
âThis is a misunderstanding!â Isabellaâs eyes widened.
âMisunderstanding? You two are so close in the picture. Do you think Iâm blind or an idiot?â
Rosy pulled Isabella to the ground with great force and fiercely kicked her in the stomach. âBitch, I know you wouldnât be good for too long. You are such a cheap woman.â
âRosy, Isabella said it was a misunderstanding. Can you listen to her explanation before you get angry?â
Rosa finally couldnât help but run forward to grab Rosyâs hand, pleading, âLukas is about to get engaged to you. How could he have anything to do with Isabella?â
âWho do you think you are?â
Rosy shook Rosa off, âLike mother like daughter. You two both like to steal othersâ men.â
âI hurt my foot and the doctor asked Lukas to hold me down!â
Seeing Rosa being overthrown on the ground, Isabella hurriedly hugged Rosyâs leg and said, âIf you donât believe me, just ask Lukas! Donât involve my mother in this!â
âYou hurt your foot?â
Rosy suddenly turned around and a sinister look flashed across her eyes. She stepped on Isabellaâs injured ankle and fiercely said, âIs this one?â
