271 I Like Girls like You
âOh? The lunch must be an excuse because Joseph wants to make it up to you. You should reply to him quickly,â Jane said.
Then she looked at Isabella and joked, âIsabella, if you donât reply to his message quickly, he will punish you.â
âJane, why are you so pleased with this?â Isabella asked.
She said with an evil grin, âDo I need to find you a handsome guy and let him teach you something?â
âA handsome guy?â Janeâs eyes lit up.
âA mature and reliable guy,â Isabella said.
âBut I like uninhibited guy,â Jane replied.
âHeâs more handsome than every man you have seen before,â Isabella added.
Jane nodded and said, âI want him. Then it is settled and you are responsible for my happiness now.â
.....
Isabella smiled and said, âAlright. I will introduce you to him. He is a nice guy. If you are not my friend, I would not set him up with you. Donât forgive to prepare a present for me if you two began to date. I will go out and make a call first.â
Isabella looked at the time and was afraid that Joseph was in a meeting so she decided to send him a message instead of calling him.
[I am busy at noon. I have plans already. ]
After Isabella send the message, her phone rang.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
It was Joseph and he sounded unhappy, âCan you stop being so petty? I donât like petty women. Nothing happened between me and Stella. Donât mess up with me.â
Isabella was rendered speechless. It was he who was pleading but he sounded so brash.
âIâm not being petty. I have plans at noon,â Isabella said.
âWho will you have lunch with?â Joseph asked.
âHe is the principal of the Peace University of Architecture,â Isabella explained.
She lowered her voice, âHe might have the manuscript of the drawings so I have to seize the opportunity.â
âThe principal of the Peace University of Architecture? The old man?â Joseph mocked, âWhere is it? I will come to you. I am afraid that he will do something bad to you.â
âNo!â Isabella refused.
She didnât want Joseph to ruin it because he was too proud and unreasonable. She said, âWho do you think the principal is? We will meet in the middle of the day. And I have a senior to go with me so I will be fine.â
âA senior?!â Joseph yelled.
âAre you serious? Joseph, I didnât mess up with you about you and Stella!â Isabella said.
Joseph didnât what to say so he said coldly, âI want to take you to pick up rings. Forget it. You ruin it.â
Then he hung up.
Isabella was stunned.
She also didnât know what to say now.
She thought that Joseph was indeed unpredictable and arrogant...
At noon, Cedric picked up Isabella on time and took her to the seafood restaurant. The principal of Peace University of Architecture, Mr. Austen, had arrived. He had grey hair but looked hale and hearty. He was a serious and amiable gentleman.
With Cedricâs help, they three had a great talk. Cedricâs father used to work with Mr. Austen so Mr. Austen trusted Cedric. The reason why Cedric went to check the photos in Mr. Austenâs home was that he wanted to help Isabella.
Isabella thought that Cedric was considerate and thoughtful.
She appreciated Cedric and was excited when she thought of setting Jane up with Cedric.
Isabella thought that Jane and Cedric had different personalities. One was quiet and another one was outgoing so they would make a great couple.
The study room in Mr. Austenâs house was spacious. There were many books and old photos. After lunch, Isabella and Cedric sent Mr. Austen home and visited his study room by the way.
The winding steps to the study room were beautiful. But the patterns on the steps were weird and made Isabella feel dizzy.
âAre you feeling uncomfortable?â Cedric asked.
He reached out his hand and said, âThese patterns can put your mind at ease. After you read for a long time, you will feel much better when you look at the patterns. But you havenât seen them so you might feel uncomfortable. I will hold you.â
âThank you,â Isabella said.
Then she placed her hand on Cedricâs arm. She liked him even more and she would be so happy if Jane could marry him.
âWhat are you looking at?â Cedric asked.
He noticed that Isabella was looking at him so he asked gently and politely.
âNothing,â Isabella said.
Cedricâs eyes twinkled and he smiled and said, âSince the lunch, you began to observe me.â
Isabella scratched her head and said with a smile, âCedric, you told me before that you didnât like quiet girls. Do you mean that you like outgoing girls?â
Cedricâs eyes lit up when he looked at Isabella. He said, âI like girls who can be quiet sometimes and can also be outgoing when she goes crazy for something, to be precise.â
âDo you like her to go crazy for something? Are you serious?â Isabella was surprised.
She laughed out and said, âI know now!â
âWhat do you know?â Cedric said.
âI know what kind of girl you want! I will find you one!â Isabella said as she patted her chest.
âTell me more,â Cedric said. His fingers stopped on one box on the shelf and he opened it.
âYou like outgoing girls more,â Isabella said.
She explained, âBut the girl you like should be thoughtful and quiet in front of others but she can be passionate and interesting when she is with you. She must have similar hobbies with you.â
Cedric nodded and said, âYou are right. Isabella, you do know what kind of girl I like. Even my best friend doesnât know it!â
Isabella said proudly, âOf course. Cedric, donât worry. I will find you a girlfriend who you will like!â
âBut I have a condition,â Cedric said.
He was looking at the things in the box as he said, âShe must be pretty. I like pretty girls.â
âYou like pretty girls?â Isabella said.
She thought that Jane was pretty enough. She chuckled and said, âNo problem! You would not care the shape of her face, her height, and the length of her hair, right?â
âThe shape of her face and her height...â Cedric hesitated.
Seeing Isabella being so happy, he reached out and ran his fingers through her hair. He said thoughtfully, âI like a heart-shaped face, long hair, and the same height as you. In a word, she must be as beautiful as you.â
Isabella tried to keep what he said in her mind. Many people said that she and Jane looked like sisters. Thinking of that, Isabella nodded and said, âDonât worry. You and she will be a perfect match.â
Cedric took back his hand and smiled at Isabella. He said, âDo you know why Mr. Austen allowed you to visit his house?â
âBecause of you. You were thoughtful when you talked with him at lunch and I buttered him up, too.â Isabella said.
She smiled and said, âYou didnât know that I am articulate, right? You introduced me to Mr. Austen, which is so important for me, so I have to seize the opportunity. Or I can never come here and look for things I want.â
