233 The Obligation as a Husband
âDonât forget to eat your breakfast.â
âDonât worry. Iâll eat on the way.â
Charlie tried his best to open his eyes and look at Isabella. His eyes flickered. âGood girl, Iâm listening.â
Through the gap between the doors, Joseph watched Charlie enjoy himself with Isabella. After thinking for a while, Joseph did not enter but turned and left.
Although Isabellaâs joke did not alleviate Charlieâs illness, she could tell that he enjoyed having her by his side. Thus, only when Doctor Morris came to give Charlie a drip did Isabella leave.
At the bus stop, she sat in the waiting area and took big bites of bread. A black Rolls-Royce stopped in front of her. Joseph rolled down the window. âGet into the car. Iâll send you to school.â
Isabella opened the door and got into the car, with a wide smile. âThank you, Mr. Joseph!â
âWe will get married soon, so I will try to get used to this new lifestyle. Thatâs why I sent you to school. You donât need to thank me. Itâs an obligation as a husband,â Joseph said in a flat toneless voice.
âHusband...â
.....
Isabella looked at his handsome face and blushed. âDo you start from today?â
âThen when do you want me to start?â
âItâs up to you. You were so fierce in the morning, and I thought it would be difficult for us to get along well with each other.â Isabella was a little shy and surprised.
Joseph lowered his eyes. âIâm sorry for what happened this morning...â
âNever mind!â
She pulled Josephâs sleeve and said excitedly, âI know what you want to say, but itâs fine! Iâm not angry at all. I was just upset about annoying you again. But I didnât do it on purpose! I wonât touch your things anymore!â
Joseph looked at her bright smile and felt a little sorry for her. He reached out to stroke her cheek and wiped off the crumbs on her face. âNo, Isabella, you can touch my things at will. As my wife, you have the right to share all of my things!â
Looking at Joseph, who was very gentle, Isabella was over the moon. She couldnât help asking, âThen darling, what does the word on your ring mean?â
Joseph froze. Isabella thought it was too gross, so she shyly covered her face. âSince itâs the first day, I want to change the way I call you. If you donât want to be called like that, what about âHoneyâ?â
â...â
Joseph held her hand. âI like both. You can call me whatever you like.â
âThen what does âsunnyâ mean?â
âItâs just a name,â Joseph said calmly.
âI guessed right. Itâs the designerâs name!â Isabella looked proud. She held up his left hand and carefully looked at the ruby on it. âI heard before that superior designers liked to leave a mark on their works! As expected, itâs so beautiful! I finally know a little about you!â
She was excited, but Josephâs eyes darkened. He changed the topic. âDonât eat breakfast on the road anymore. As my wife, you should behave yourself.â
Isabella explained at once, âNo problem! I didnât eat breakfast because I massaged Master Wilsonâs belly!â
Joseph was noncommittal. âGrandpa has been sick for a long time. You donât need to rub it. The maids and nurses will take care of him.â
âThat is different...â
Isabella pouted, âThe patient is more likely to want to be around. In the past, when my tummy ached, my mother would rub it, and then I felt much better. But after John was born, she didnât care much about me. When I was lying in the hospital, despite the doctors, I felt very uncomfortable.â
She looked lonely as she said, so Joseph thought for a moment and pulled her into his arms. âNow that we are family, then from today on, no matter who is sick, the other one has to put down everything and accompany the sick one.â
Isabella looked up at his proud face. She suddenly felt that his arrogant and imperious look was a little cute. She was moved and said, âDo you mean what you say?â
âOf course.â
âMake the pinky promise.â
âWe are all adults. Itâs too childish.â
âBut honey, I want it! You said you would be nice to me!â
Joseph had no choice but to stretch out his hand. Isabella immediately wrapped her forefinger around his. âIn the future, Joseph and Isabella must help each other. When either of them is sick, the other one must stay by his or her side! Itâs a deal!â
Joseph looked at her smiling face that was brimming with joy and pulled her into his embrace, kissing her on the lips. âItâs a deal, Isabella.â
When Isabella entered the school, her face was still flushed.
After the pinky promise, Joseph began to make out with her. Although she was ready to be his wife, she wasnât mentally ready for the sex. When making out with him, she flushed and her heart beat faster.
âIsabella, I want you...â
She still remembered how husky his voice was when he gently bit her ear. She had thought it was too erotic, but why did she feel it was so sexy now?
She wanted to tell her mother and Jane about this good news. She wanted to share her happiness with them!
Just as Isabella was thinking about it, a car horn interrupted her. She turned around and saw Lukas.
She stopped and said politely, âGood morning, Mr. Lukas.â
She looked distracted, so he asked, âIsabella, letâs have lunch together.ân/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Isabella smiled and lied, âThank you for your invitation, but I have had an appointment.â
Lukas lowered his eyes. âItâs in the Sichuan cuisine restaurant that we always went to. Iâll tell you something about your biological father. I will wait for you until 12:30.â
âMy father? Wait!â
Isabella was stunned, only to see that Lukas had stepped on the accelerator and quickly headed to the administrative building...
âIsabella, you look so happy, so you must have experienced something wonderful, right?â
As soon as Isabella entered the classroom, Jane rushed to her and hugged her. âIs that guy a sex expert?â
Isabella poked Jane on the shoulder. âShame on you! I do have something to tell you. Iâm so lucky.â
âWhat is it? Did you win the lottery?â
âItâs about the same...â
âJane, I may well get married soon.â Isabella thought about her encounter with Joseph and felt as if she had won the lottery.
