104 Youâre So Calm
âWhat? It has past seven oâclock?â Joseph immediately opened his eyes.
Twenty minutes later, Joseph and Isabella went downstairs. Isabella was so embarrassed that her face was red.
âGrandpa, good morning. I was a little tired yesterday and got up late today.â Joseph was cold and behaved respectfully and politely.
âItâs alright. Take your seats.â
Charlie behaved normally but looked happily. âWilliam, letâs have breakfast.â
âYes, Sir.â William immediately passed the order to the kitchen. Soon, the breakfast was served.
Normally, Isabella was the noisiest person while having meals. She was embarrassing today and lowered her head having her meal without saying a word.
âMiss Isabella, how do you like the soup today? Is it good?â
She didnât say anything, but William always asked her opinion. He smiled and said, âIâll prepare you some soup and you can take it to school if you like.â
.....
Only then did Isabella notice there was a soup. She hurriedly said, âIts taste is great. I donât need more for school. Iâm full.â
âYouâd better take bring some.â Charlie interrupted with a smile, âJoseph, you too.â
Isabella felt something was wrong with Charlieâs expression. She stirred the soup and asked doubtfully, âWhatâs in this soup? Why does it taste bitter?â
âItâs the herbal soup which has nourishing efficacy.â
The chef, who waited on besides, proudly explained, âMr. Josephâs soup is for reinforcing kidney. It is a pity that they are not cooked for long enough. I will prepare better herbal soups, which are more nutritious and flavorful, from tomorrow morning! You will be energetic every day!â
Isabella was a little freaked out when she heard this.
Isabella choked. Joseph immediately passed her a napkin, âAre you so overwhelmed that canât speak?â
As said so, he expressionlessly drank up the herbal soup in front of him.
Isabella was embarrassed and thought Joseph was so calm!
Isabella finished her breakfast in silence.
Because Charlie asked particularly, Joseph personally took Isabella to school after breakfast.
Isabella held a large thermos in her arms. They were silent along the way.
âFinish this too.â
After the car stopped at the school gate, Joseph thrust his thermos into Isabellaâs arms and said unhappily, âYouâll die if you donât finish it.â
Isabella was shocked.
Isabella pulled her neck into her collar and said embarrassingly, âEven though itâs a good soup, but it is aphrodisiac. Will something strange happen to me if I drink it?â
Joseph tugged at his tie, seemingly a little hot, âThen pour it away! If I drink the soup, you will regret it!â
â ... Iâll finish all of them!â
Isabella was scared. She immediately jumped out of the car with two thermoses in her arms and disappeared quickly.
âShe doesnât know whom she is dealing with!â Joseph glared at Isabellaâs back, âA two-faced woman! Gerry, letâs go!â
Gerry drove off.
Isabella stepped into the campus toward sunlight.
Happy students gathered around in the grass, on the playground, and in the woods, full of young spirits everywhere.
Isabella had mixed feelings when she suddenly remembered what had happened in the abandoned warehouse last night.
Humiliation, pain, desperation, and indifferent relationship with her family, were nothing compared to freedoms and pleasures.
People should earnestly work hard and live.
God was fair and would never be cruel to a hard-working person...
Isabella saw a white MPV driving towards the office building not far away.
Isabella looked at the thermos in her arms and came up with an idea suddenly. She walked towards the office building...
Someone was knocking on the door.
Lukasâs office was a separate luxurious lounge. Occasionally, he was invited to come over for lecturing open class, mainly because of his fame rather than what he taught.
Therefore, he didnât need an office, but an independent and quiet place to stay.
Lukasâs manager opened the door, âAre you ... Isabella? Lukas is...â
âItâs alright. Donât bother to tell him. Please give this to him.â Isabella handed the thermos to the manager and grinned. She turned around and was about to leave.
âIsabella, wait!â
She heard a familiar and gentle voice. Lukas walked over while he was wiping his hair with a towel. He said to his manager, âGo and have your breakfast first. Iâll talk to Isabella for a while.â
After the manager left, Lukas pulled Isabella into the room.
âI have to go back to my dormitory to get my stuff.â
Isabella leaned against the door and said unnaturally, âHave this soup. I will not stay here anymore.â
After said so, she was about to close the door.
Lukas closed the door.
Lukas slammed the door and said, âYou can ask Jane to get your stuff for you. Why are you avoiding me?â
Isabella looked up while Lukas looked down. Isabella shrunk back awkwardly, âI donât other students see us. Theyâll gossip.ân/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
âIs it because your sister and I are getting engaged?â
Lukas released her hand and sighed softly. He opened the thermos and sniffed, âIt smells good. Did you make it?â
âNo.â
Isabella lied, âA friend gave me two bottles of soup. I saw your MPV just now. I cannot finish all of them. So, I bring you one.â
Lukas took some soup. He shook the thermos and curled his lips, âThis soup is aphrodisiac. Who gave it to you?â
Isabella blushed. She pretended that she didnât know, âWhat? Is it aphrodisiac? He must give me the wrong one! I was told that this soup is good for health! The idiot...â
Lukas smiled and said, âItâs fine. Isnât it good for me? I filmed all night last night, and only removed my make-up just now. I feel exhausted and lost appetite. You are here to bring me this tonic soup. Isabella, youâre so sweet.â
Isabella immediately said with relief, âThatâs great. Iâm really happy that it helps!â
âJohn was beaten. Do you know that?â Lukas said casually while he was having the soup.
Isabellaâs smile froze. She rubbed her nose, âI donât know. But he always fights with others, doesnât he?â
âNo. He was beaten this time. Both his legs and one arm are broken. Furthermore, he didnât dare to tell your father who did it. It seemed that he was scared.â
âThey are totally broken...â
Isabella rubbed the corners of her clothes. It turned out that Joseph was merciful and didnât break Johnâs other arm.
âYou donât care much about John, do you?â Lukas glances at Isabella, âBecause he often bullies you, isnât it?â
