Chapter 22: 21- Breakfast

My Twin Mates and IWords: 6823

Recap-

"Here you go," I held out his shirt for him to grab. Axel sighed, took it, and sadly covered up his gorgeous chest with it. "You too." I pointed at Blake menacingly and didn't put my hand down until he put his shirt on. "Okay, now let's go get some breakfast. It'll help to fill up your fat bellies."

"Fat?" Blake looked outraged. "Look at this!" He pulled his shirt up, showcasing his abs. And although I really just wanted to stare at them for the whole day, I knew that the longer we stayed locked up in my room, the longer my mom thought up of some crazy scenarios about what we were doing in there.

"Hush," I straightened my pajama shirt and gestured towards the door. "Now hurry up and go."

I cautiously stepped out of my room and peeked down the hallway to see if my mom was waiting outside. The hallway was empty. With a sigh of relief, I started to shuffle down the stairs towards the living room. Before I could even walk into the living room, Blake and Axel started pounding down the stairs like two huge elephants, ruining all of the sneaking around I was trying to do.

"Why do you have to walk like Godzilla?" I rolled my eyes at them. Both of them had goofy grins on their faces. I was about to whisper-yell at them to be more quiet, when my mom interrupted us.

"Hi dears!" I had no idea how she could be so bubbly in the morning. "Are you hungry?" She started rushing us into the dining room and babbling about something.

"Mom!" I groaned. "Calm down!"

"I'm just excited!" she exclaimed. "Your new boyfriend...s!"

"Mom."

"The last time I caught you with a boy was-"

"Mom! Can you just-AH!" I rubbed my face with frustration.

"Did you say good morning to your dad?"

"Is he home?"

"He's in his office."

"I'm going to go talk to him." I started walking towards my dad's office before I paused and turned my head to look at my mom. "Mom."

"Yes honey?"

"Please don't scare them away," I gestured towards Blake and Axel.

"What? I would never-"

"Please mom."

"Okay, okay," she waved me away and I reluctantly turned around and walked away, trusting that my mom wouldn't go all crazy on them.

"Hey daddy," I leaned against the door to my dad's office.

"Hi sunshine!" he immediately got out of his seat and wrapped me in a tight hug. My dad used to be in the army, and in old pictures he was super tall and muscular. A good amount of that muscle was now covered in fat, but his hugs still suffocated me a little. "How are you?"

"Good."

"Hmmm," he took off his glasses and looked me straight in the eye. "So your mom tells me that you have a new boyfriend, or boyfriends."

"Ummmm..." I trailed off.

"I don't like it," he huffed. "A young girl shouldn't have multiple boyfriends."

"But-"

"Remember Luke?"

"Yea but-"

"I'm going to have to say a word to these boys."

"No, pleeeeeease." I knew he would use his army-voice on them. That voice made many people want to go and pee their pants.

"It's not up for discussion."

"Fine," I sighed.

"Did your mom finish cooking breakfast yet?"

"I think so."

"Okay let's go," he placed his glasses on his desk.

"Don't scare them off."

"No promises." He walked out of his office as if he was ready for war.

I glared at his back as I followed him back to the living room.

I sighed in relief when I saw Blake and Axel helping my mom set the table. I thought that she would've ran them off by now.

"Your mom said that she was going to show us some of your baby photos," Blake grinned at me as he placed a plate of pancakes on the middle of the dining room table.

"Greeeeaaaaat," I said sarcastically. I was about to go grab some forks for all of us when I heard my dad's booming voice.

"So you two are the boys who want to date my daughter," he glared at both Blake and Axel.

"Yes sir," Axel looked straight in my dad's eyes, not backing down at all. That was good; my dad didn't tolerate cowards.

"You should know that I don't like this," my dad huffed. "And that if you hurt my daughter, I will flay you alive."

"Yes sir."

"Now, moving on, do you two play any sports?"

"Football sir."

"Great," he paused. "Now what did you think about that game...."

While my dad, Blake, and Axel bonded over football or whatever, I helped my mom set the table. I had no idea why she was cooking all this stuff for breakfast, but I didn't say anything, because I knew it would hurt her feelings.

"Okay!" my mom clapped, getting the attention of everyone. "Sit down and eat your breakfast." I immediately sat down in my usual spot, which was right in front of the hash browns, and groaned when Blake and Axel sat on my left and right.

"Really?" I whispered.

"Always gotta be near you baby," Axel wrapped his left arm around my shoulder as he put some sausages on his plate and on mine.

"Thank you," I said as I cut the sausage in half and put one piece into my mouth.

"I know you like big sausages," Axel whispered in my ear. I choked and tapped my chest a few times before I could breathe normally.

"Honey are you okay?" my mom asked.

"Yep," I put my attention back on my plate, knowing that my cheeks were bright red.

"So when are you going back to school?" my dad asked.

"Tomorrow," Blake answered. "We actually have a game on...." I zoned out from the conversation that they were having when I got some hash browns. The crunchy, salty, savoriness of the potatoes made me happier than a pig in mud. Hash browns were my favorite part of breakfast, bacon was my dad's, and oatmeal was my mom's. As I peeked at Axel and Blake's plates, I noted that sausages were Axel's favorite, and pancakes were Blake's. I believed that one's favorite food revealed a little bit of their personality.

"Emma?"

"Yes?"

"I just asked you a question," my mom said.

"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention," I smiled awkwardly.

"Well, I was asking when your next cheer practice is," she paused. "I bought you some new leggings from Lululemon, you can wear them."

"Thanks mom, I have practice tomorrow after school, I can wear them then."

"That's great." We all went back to our meaningless chatter when I suddenly heard a loud growl come from outside. I dropped my fork on the plate. My mom gasped.

"Was that a wolf?" I turned so that I could look out the window.

"I'll take care of it," my dad got up and started walking around. "I have a rifle here somewhere, if it tries to hurt any of you."

"Dad, I don't think-"

"It's okay sunshine." I don't even think that he heard what I had said. I realized that Blake and Axel had also gotten up when I turned to Blake to ask him something.

"What are you-"

"Let us take care of it," Axel said sharply. I could've sworn that I saw his eyes flicker to a different color before he turned away.

What the hell was going on?"

"It's just a wolf, I have no idea what you're worrying about."

"No, it's not just a wolf," Blake muttered.

"Huh?"

What did he mean?
