âI said go back to your ward first.â Alastor suppressed his emotions and ushered Felicia out.
Feliciaâs eyes turned red as she looked at Anastasia. âYou must be pleased. Alastor will be tired of you too someday.â
Anastasia chuckled.
She thought, âTired of me? He has long grown tired of me. Itâs just that he suddenly leaves his comfort zone. Itâs only because I have truly made up my mind about the divorce that he momentarily loses his composure.â
âAlastor, Iâll wait for you next door.â Felicia looked at Alastor with a meaningful gaze and turned to leave.
Her eyes were full of seduction.
The implication was clear.
Anastasia let out a sarcastic laugh. There was a high probability that Alastor would have to go and placate her well later. After all, he was even willing to scold her that day.
âYou, too, get out,â Alastor asked Jason to leave.
Alastor thought Jason was in the way.
âItâs you who should get out of here.â Anastasia frowned and was unable to stand Alastorâs condescending attitude.
âAnastasiaâ¦â Alastor took a deep breath.
He could bear everything, but whenever he saw Anastasia defending Jason, he could not control his emotions.
âWeâre married. Iâm here with you. Let him leaye?â Alastor looked at Anastasia.
Anastasia ignored Alastor and focused on packing up the lunch box. Then, she handed it to Jason. âI want to eat a grilled cheese sandwich and have meat chowder tomorrow morning. Is that okay?â
Jason nodded.
âRest early,â Anastasia asked Jason to leave first.
Jason stood aside and was silent for a long time. Eventually, he left with the lunch box in his hand.
Anastasia knew she was not being fair to Jason.
But leaning on the couch stiffly, keeping watch over her, and staying overnight in such a cramped ward to suffer was the kind of hardship Alastor should experience as her husband.
After all, they had been married for four years, and he hadnât experienced anything.
âAre you sure you want to stay overnight and take care of me?â Anastasia asked.
Alastor nodded seriously. âIâm your husband. Of course, Iâll be the one to take care of you.â
âAre you not busy with work today? You seem exhausted. You wonât have a good rest here,â Anastasia reminded Alastor in advance.
Alastor was someone who valued the quality of his sleep. When they had just gotten married, they used to sleep in separate rooms because he was not used to sleeping with someone else. Hence, she would return to the other room on her own after going to bed.
Later, Alastor slowly got used to it, and he let Anastasia stay. However, she still felt uncomfortable using the restroom at night.
That day, Alastor had unexpectedly volunteered to stay overnight at the hospital.
Anastasia chuckled ironically and pointed to the garbage on the table. âClean up. Except for my Chili Dog, everything else can be thrown away.â
Alastor knew Anastasia had a temper, so he would do whatever she told him to. âAnnie, eat less junk food.â
âThe junk food you mentioned brings me happiness,â Anastasia retorted coldly.
Alastorâs hand, which was cleaning the trash, paused for a moment. Alastor took a garbage bag and collected all the trash, leaving only the Chili Dog.
âMy legs need to be massaged every three hours. You can follow the massage instructions at the head of the bed and massage my legs.â Anastasia leaned against the headboard and asked Alastor to massage her legs.
Alastor sat by the bed obediently and reached out to help Anastasia massage her legs.
Anastasiaâs gaze was somewhat dreamy. Anastasia thought, âAlastorâs hands are truly voluptuous and attractive.â
In the past, Anastasia thought Alastorâs hands were only fit for holding a pen âApply a bit more force. Havenât you eaten yet?â Anastasia followed Naomiâs tone and was picky about Alastor.
Alastor frowned and knew that Anastasia did it on purpose.
He hadnât served others before. His hands would be sore after massaging her legs for a while.
Alastor stopped massaging her legs and wanted to talk to Anastasia.
âGo on. Is that all the energy you have?â Anastasia said lightly.
Alastor rubbed between his eyebrows and suppressed his anger.
âAnastasia, if you need a caretaker, I can arrange one.â Alastor had no patience.
âSo you canât stand it anymore?â Anastasia sarcastically chuckled âDo you know how long I had taken care of your mother back when she was sick and hospitalized?â
â
During that period, Anastasia was exhausted every day, to the point of a nervous breakdown.
Anastasia had fallen to the ground several times, which had taken her some time before she could pull herself together.
Anastasia thought, âIf I had rested properly during that period and my immune system had not weakened so severely, perhaps I wouldnât have cancer at such a young age.â
