Chapter 164 Try Again Henry keeps refusing my call. Has he... fallen for Crystal? I canât believe sheâs Dadâs biological daughter! How can this be? How can she snatch away everything that belongs to me? Audrey sneered. So what if sheâs Dadâs biological daughter? Once I destroy this evidence and eliminate that half-dead jeweler, no one will learn the truth, and Iâl remain the apple of my fatherâs eyes!
A chuckle escaped her lips as she tore the letter into pieces.
Downstairs, her husband was engaged in a passionate night with the housekeeper. They paid her no mind. as their lustful moans echoed throughout the house.
Nevertheless, Audrey didnât care that her husband was ignoring her.
Back in Barnwood, Henry had been busy socializing as it was the end of the year. It had been days since he met with Crystal.
Meanwhile, Crystal was celebrating Christmas with John and Anna.
âThe water pipeâs broken!â exclaimed Anna from the kitchen. When she stepped out, her apron was soaked through, and water droplets were dripping on the ground.
John swiftly said, âChange your clothes quickly. Donât catch a cold.â
The care he displayed toward her warmed Annaâs heart.
As she sauntered toward her bedroom, she said to Crystal, âCan you call someone to fix the pipe, Crys? We wonât be able to have dinner like this.
Crystal nodded and made the call.
Half an hour later, the doorbell rang, and she went to open the door. They sure arrive fast-
When the door was opened, she saw Henry standing outside in a dark blue shirt, gray wool trousers, and Ä gray, branded coat.
He appeared mature and stunning in that attire, Stunned, Crystal blurted, âWhy are you here?â
The manâs gentle gaze landed on her. âIâve finished my work.â
Just as Crystal wanted to speak with him outside, Anna stepped out of her room after changing into a new set of clothes and saw him. âHenry, youâre here!â
Henry used that opportunity to enter the living room. After he stylishly set the gifts in his hand down, he handed his coat to Crystal. âIf I werenât busy with my work, I wouldâve visited Mr. Winters sooner.â
Joyously, Anna said, âYou donât need to buy anything! Your presence here is more than enough!â
Staring at Crystal, Henry uttered slowly, âI should do this since this is our first year together.â
Anna could tell the hidden meaning behind his words.
Silently, she shifted her sight to John, signaling him to go by the book.
Of course, John understood his wifeâs message.
While Henry genuinely wished to court Crystal, their parents hadnât met each other yet. Thus, the couple wouldnât conform to local etiquette regardless of whose family they were dining with at Christmas.
âItâs to be expected at this time of year. Show Henry some hospitality, but donât keep him around for too long. He still needs to have dinner with his family later tonight,â John said with a grin on his face.
âCan you call and ask why the plumber isnât here yet, Crystal?â Anna asked while pouring their guest a cup of coffee.
Without delay, Crystal attempted to return to her room to make the call because she didnât want to handle Henry.
However, he swiftly interjected, âNo need for that. I can fix it.â
Anna beamed. âYou know how to do this, Henry? In any case, I donât think you should. Itâll dirty your clothes.â
âItâs fine.â Henry rolled up his sleeve and grabbed the tools.
In response, Anna gestured for Crystal to stop the call and accompany Henry.
After the couple ambled into the tiny kitchen, they shut the door.
Crystal squatted next to Henry and watched him fix the water pipe with skill. A hint of surprise flitted across her face. âI didnât expect youâd know how to do this.â
Gazing at her, Henry grinned. âI know many things.â
Crystal blushed. Can this man behave himself for once?
But it wasnât an exaggeration of his skills at all. He did fix the water pipe fairly quickly.
While Crystal had heard of the saying âMen are the most charming when doing thingsâ before, she had never experienced it. At that moment, though, her heart was pounding as she watched him finish fixing the pipe.
Henry put the tools away and smiled. âWhatâs the matter? Never seen a man as handsome as me before?â
Reflexively, Crystal attempted to stand up.
Instead of letting her go, he whispered, âI need to head home for dinner later. Letâs go on a date-after this. I have a present I want to show you.â
Hesitation swirled in her eyes. I am touched, but....
Henry gazed at her before kissing her cheek.
âAre you done yet, Henry?â Anna pushed the door open just then and happened to witness that scene.
Crystalâs cheeks burned with embarrassment as she wondered how to react. Meanwhile, Henry rose to his feet and washed his hands. âMadam Anna, I wish to buy something with Crystal for Christmas later. Iâve been quite busy recently and didnât have the chance to shop with her.â
Anna agreed. âOf course. You youngsters should spend more time outside.â
After Henry finished washing his hands, he tidied his shirt.
Politely, he informed the older woman, âIâll have Crystal home before dinner. Also, I would like to bring her to meet my family on Friday. I thought itâd be better if I mentioned this first.â
Suppressing her joy, Anna encouraged Crystal to change her clothes and go on a date with Henry.
Ten minutes later, Crystal settled into the passenger seat of the gold Bentley Continental.
Biting her lip, she said, âI didnât agree to meet your parents.â
Henry lit a cigarette and left his left hand hanging outside of the window. âDonât you think you should meet my parents after I met yours? Or do you think marriage isnât something one needs to tell their parents abour?â
Enraged, Crystal turned her head toward him.
He grabbed her head with his right hand and kissed her The deep and passionate kiss lasted for a long while before he pressed his forehead against hers. âWe donât need to tell them about our private life, but not when it comes to marriage.â
Crystal didnât want it to happen that quickly. âDidnât you say you have a present for me?â
Grinning, he extinguished his cigarette and drove the car.
The man only made a single stop during the journey to his condominium.
He bought a pack of cigarettes and a small box of condoms, placing them conspicuously on the dashboard.
An infuriated Crystal turned her gaze away. âThis is the present youâre talking about?â
Henry buckled his seatbelt.
Upon hearing what she said, he smirked and brushed his finger on her reddened cheek. âWho said Iâm using it on you? Or is it your first thought to have sex with me when you saw it?â
Crystal rolled her eyes. What a shameless man.
After turning his attention back to the road, he coughed. âErm... I donât perform too badly in bed, right, Crystal?â
Crystal couldnât answer that question.
After all, he was the only person she ever had sex with. However, she could guess that his sexual need was greater than the ordinary manâs, and he performed better than the average.
While she remained silent, her blush was an obvious answer.
Everything that happened next unfolded naturally.
After all, adult couples only needed a glance to grasp their partnerâs sexual urge.
Just as they entered the condominium, Henry pulled the woman into a hug from behind. I love her slender waist. As he pressed her body against hers, he mused aloud. âThe living room or the bedroom?â
Crystal was disoriented by his kisses.
Lifting her head slightly, she uttered, âBedroom. Henry, donât...â
