“Neil, why are you here?”

He looked at her coldly. “What did you just say to her?”

“N-Nothing.”

However, Neil continued to stare daggers at her. “Jane, from the very first day we started dating, I warned you not to cause her trouble. Did you just ignore what I said?”

“Neil, it’s not like that. I just bumped into Miss Pond in the restroom and said hello.”

Neil ignored her and left.

Jane panicked and chased after him, but a bodyguard blocked her way.

“Miss Leighton, please conduct yourself properly.”

Jane’s face turned red with rage, and she said, “Get out of my way! You’re just a bodyguard! Who do you think you are to stop me?!”

“We’re done. I don’t want to see you anymore,” Neil said to her in dissatisfaction.

“What?!”

Jane’s face turned pale. Her eyes filled with shock and disbelief.

Neil wanted to break up with her just because she gave Silvia a warning!

What happened to the kindness and patience he had shown her all this time?

“Neil, I don’t agree with this breakup! We were already planning to get married. You want to end our relationship just because I told Silvia to stay away from you?!”

Neil’s expression remained cold. “When you mentioned marriage, I never agreed to it. Besides, you had your parents spread rumors that I proposed to you at the Egean Sea. Do you think I’m clueless?”

He did not care back then, so he allowed her to do whatever she wanted.

“But you didn’t oppose it either!”

Neil could not be bothered to argue further, and he sternly said, “Take her away.”

“No! Neil, I don’t want to leave! I don’t want to break up with you! I promise never to appear before Silvia again. Please forgive me this time!”

No matter how much she cried and shouted, Neil ignored her.

The bodyguards then drove Jane out of the restaurant. “Miss Leighton, please leave immediately.”

“No! Let me in. I want to talk to Neil. Get out of my way!”

Irritated by her yelling, one of the bodyguards looked at her and spoke disdainfully, “Do you really think you still have a chance to see Mr. Remus? If you had behaved, maybe Mr. Remus would have kept you around for some time. But after provoking Miss Pond, do you think Mr. Remus will spare you?”

Jane was stunned. “But... didn’t he break up with her already? He’s been treating me so well...”

“Haven’t you figured it out yet? Mr. Remus was just being nice to you to make Miss Pond jealous. Unfortunately, you failed to see through his act and thought that he had fallen in love with you!”

Jane stopped halfway through her sentence. She suddenly recalled a conversation she had with Neil before they got together. He had told her that he could give her anything apart from love.
