âM-Miss Pond, did Mr. Rios do something to upset you?â
Silvia frowned and turned to Joe. âYouâre quite chatty today, Joe.â
He quickly lowered his head. âIâm sorry. Iâll send you the address right away.â
âOkay.â
After she received the address, she contemplated for a bit and decided to find Alan.
In less than an hour, she stopped her car at the entrance of Ryoln City Grand Hotel.
As she stepped out, she noticed Curtis exiting the hotel lobby with a disgruntled look.
When they saw each other, both seemed a little surprised.
âMiss Pond, what brings you here?â Curtis asked first.
Silvia smiled. âI came to meet someone. What about you?â
Curtis had gone there to inform Alan that Winston, a brilliant doctor known as Moon, might be able to help Chris. However, Alan did not believe him and asked his subordinate to kick him out.
âI just came to attend to some matters.â
Silvia nodded without asking further. âOkay. Iâll make my way inside. See you next time.â
Once she entered the hotel, Curtis quickly gave Neil a call.
âMr. Remus, I just saw Miss Pond at the entrance of Ryoln City Grand Hotel. She mentioned that she was meeting someone. Do you think sheâs found out about that incident?â
There was a brief silence on the phone before Neil demanded, âFind out who sheâs meeting at the hotel!â
When Curtis checked the hotel surveillance, Silvia had already reached Alanâs room.
She knocked on the door, and a middle-aged man opened it shortly after.
He was maybe around fifty or sixty, and he was shocked to see her. âYou...â
âIâm Silvia Pond. I have something to discuss with Mr. Rios. Could you please let him know Iâm here?â Silvia said indifferently.
The man feigned ignorance and replied coldly, âI donât know who this Mr. Rios is!â
She remained unperturbed as she said, âMr. Rios sent some people to kidnap me this morning, and I have proof. If you donât know him, Iâll have to take this evidence to the police.â
The manâs face turned pale. After a few seconds, he reluctantly said, âPlease hold on.â
He quickly returned, though he still appeared unfriendly.
âYou may go in now.â
Silvia calmly walked into the presidential suite. There was someone in a wheelchair by the window in the lounge. He was dressed in a gray suit, and he had slightly gray hair.
He was facing away as she stood about a meter behind him. âMr. Rios, you dare send your goons to kidnap me, but you canât even face me?â
Alan turned his wheelchair around with a fake smile on his face.
âMiss Pond, I have no idea what youâre talking about. Why did you come here?â
When Silvia saw his face, she immediately noticed a striking similarity to Chris. They both had thick eyebrows and big eyes, but Alanâs face showed signs of aging.
She chuckled and played a recording of her conversation with the men who had followed her this morning.
Alan remained calm after he listened to it. âMiss Pond, I donât know you. Why would I want to kidnap you? It looks like someoneâs trying to frame me.
You should investigate it thoroughly.â
Silvia sneered. âIf you donât know me, why address me as âMiss Pondâ? Mr. Rios, I have little patience. This isnât Imperial City, and Iâm not someone to be taken lightly.â
Both of them locked eyes for a few seconds, and his tone turned colder. âYouâre just the owner of a small clothing company. You should feel honored that my sonâs interested in you. If youâre smart, be with Chris. If you manage to bear a son for the Rios Family, I can even give you a hundred companies, each as big as your current one!â
