She frowned and packed her things before she headed outside. “When did you get here? Why didn’t you tell me you’ve arrived?”

“About half an hour ago. I thought you might be busy, so I planned to wait for you downstairs.”

“Alright. I’m taking the elevator. See you in a bit.”

Five minutes later, Silvia opened the car door and got in.

“Let’s go.”

Neil quietly drove his car into traffic and focused on the road.

The atmosphere in the car was a little awkward since they had not seen or contacted each other for a week.

Neil and Silvia started speaking at the same time. They exchanged a glance and simultaneously fell silent.

Neil tightened his grip on the steering wheel and said, “You go first.”

“Did you invite me out to talk about something?”

They did not say anything until they reached the restaurant.

She looked at him. “I know that you continue to get in touch with Ada because she saved your grandmother and mother. But I can’t accept how much she keeps showing up in our lives.”

“I’m sorry.”

“I didn’t come here to hear your apologies. I’ve been thinking a lot these past few days, and I’m sure that I still love you. However, if you continue to keep in touch with her, I don’t know how long my love for you will last. The day it runs out, I won’t turn back.”

Neil’s expression changed. “I won’t let that day come!”

Silvia looked at him with a serious expression. “You told me before that you would cut ties with her. I hope you’ll keep your word.”

Neil held her hand. “I promise I’ll find another way to repay her.”

After they patched things up, Silvia moved back to the mansion.

However, Neil still felt a bit uneasy. They were only dating at the moment, and Silvia could break up with him at any time.
