Chris was taken aback. He subconsciously gripped the doorknob, frozen with shock.
âChris, why are you standing at the...â
Silviaâs words trailed off as she spotted Neil standing opposite Chris.
She frowned while she dried her hair with a towel. âWhy are you here?â
Neil sneered and glared at her. âLooks like Iâve come at the wrong time. Am I interrupting you two?â
Silvia clenched the towel as she put on a calm facade. âYouâve probably seen the divorce agreement. When are you free? We need the divorce certificate,â she said.
âSilvia Pond, I never agreed to the divorce! Come back with me!â
Noticing Neilâs intention to grab Silviaâs hand, Chris quickly stood in front of Silvia.
Neil glared at Chris, and his voice was cold. âGet lost if you donât want to be shut out by all media!â
Chris gave Neil a cold glance and confronted him with a fearless attitude.
âMr. Remus, Iâm afraid it wonât be easy to do so. Besides, Silvia doesnât want to go with you.â
Chris had formed numerous connections in the entertainment industry over the years. He would not be ruined just because Neil wanted him gone.
Neilâs expression turned malicious. He took his phone out to make a call.
Silvia had been standing behind Chris. Right then, she said, âNeil, donât get unrelated people involved. Letâs talk.â
Neil put his phone down as his anger escalated. He stared at her with contempt and said, âAre you worried about him? Iâve been away from Ryoln City for only a month, but youâve already found yourself a sugar baby. How âefficientâ of you!â
Silvia ignored him and turned to Chris. âChris, you can go inside. Iâll talk with him..â
Chris was worried, but he was in no position to interfere with their affairs since they were married.
âOkay. Just call out if you need help.â
Once Chris left, Silvia turned back to Neil. However, Neil immediately dragged her away.
âWhat are you doing?!â
Silvia was furious. Neil was inconsiderate even when they were about to get a divorce. She regretted her decision to marry him!
Neil remained hostile and said nothing. He pushed Silvia into the car forcefully, got in from the other side, and started the engine.
He drove so fast that they traveled halfway down the mountain in no time. Silvia looked at him angrily.
âLet me out! Neil Remus, why are you doing this?!â
âFasten your seat belt!â
Neil gripped the steering wheel. The veins in his hands bulged. He was obviously infuriated.
Silvia did not do as he asked. She looked at him indifferently and said, âNeil, I wasnât being impulsive or unreasonable when I said I wanted a divorce.
I meant it.â
The Black Maybach screeched to a halt on the side of the road. The inertia made Silvia hit her head on the windshield.
The pain made her frown and take a sharp breath.
Before she could collect herself, she heard Neilâs sneer.
âYou want a divorce so you can be with your sugar baby? No way!â
Rubbing her head in frustration, Silvia snapped. âNeil Remus! Are you out of your mind?! I know you like Ada! Iâm willing to get a divorce, so what else do you want?!â
Neilâs expression grew even colder. âWhat does this have to do with Ada?â
Silvia smiled with mockery and retorted, âWhy wouldnât this have anything to do with her? Donât you like her?â
Silviaâs question silenced him.
After a long pause, Neil looked at Silvia without affection and said, âYou donât have the right to accuse me. At least Iâm not cheating on you. Youâre my wife, but youâre staying with another man in his mansion!â
âYouâre not cheating on me? You wonât admit it until I catch you in the act, will you?!â

âSilvia Pond!â
Silvia regained her composure when she saw how furious he was. She calmly averted her gaze and said, âWhatever happens, Iâve decided to get a divorce.â
âWhat if I disagree?â
Annoyance flashed in Silviaâs eyes as she grew increasingly frustrated. She had no intention of conversing further with Neil.
Neil frowned when he noticed her changed demeanor toward him. Right as he was about to speak, his phone rang.
It was a call from Ada. Neil glanced at Silvia and answered it.
âAda, whatâs wrong?â
âNeil, the power went out in the mansion. Iâm scared... Can you come over and stay with me?â
Adaâs voice trembled and cracked.
She had been afraid of the dark since she was a child. She used to be afraid of walking on dimly lit streets. She also had to sleep with the lights on every day. Staying alone in a mansion without electricity must have terrified her.
âDonât be scared. Iâll be there soon. Everything will be fine.â
After he hung up, Neil found Silvia giving him a mocking look. For the first time, he explained, âThe mansion lost power, so Iâm going to check on Ada.
Take a taxi and go home on your own.â
Following a few seconds of silence, he continued, âStop thinking about getting a divorce. Iâll never agree to it.â
Silvia pretended to be indifferent and slowly said, âNeil, it doesnât concern me whether you agree or not. I donât love you anymore. Iâm definitely going through with it!â
