Right after Darrion spoke, a few other shareholders echoed his sentiment.
âYeah, this happened to me too. My work is in a mess! Now, one person has to bear the workload that originally belonged to three people. No one can stand it!â
âIf this situation continues, MY Corporation will close down one day!â
âHonestly, Miss Pond, you established this company, but you werenât around for a few years. Even if you have ideas, you should carry them out step by step. Donât get everything done at once!â
Silvia did not respond. Instead, she looked at Dulcie nonchalantly and said, âShow me what Mr. Torresâs department has been working on recently.â
Darrionâs expression changed. âMiss Pond, what is the meaning of this? You donât trust me?â
Silvia took a folder containing the document from Dulcie. Then, she smiled and said, âMr. Torres, I have more faith in data than your character. After all, data wonât lie to me.â
âHow dare you!â
Darrionâs face turned red with rage, but Silvia closed the folder and looked at him coldly.
âMr. Torres, based on the document, your department only has five projects in total. The deadlines for three projects are half a year away. Besides, you started the two other projects one year ago and have yet to finish them.
âYou shouldnât come to me. Instead, you should reflect on why your staff members couldnât finish two projects in one year even though there were so many of them previously!â
Silvia criticized Darrion until his face turned red. He felt totally embarrassed. He gritted his teeth and said, âThose two projects are in their final stages.
Aside from that, other staff members have their own projects. We canât ask them to leave their work to clean up this mess, right?â
Silvia was not amused. âThatâs your business. You donât have to tell me how you assign tasks. What I want is the final outcome! Besides, your department hasnât secured any deals this year. If your department doesnât produce any profit for the company, Iâll consider closing it by the end of the year.â
Darrionâs expression turned dour. He glared at Silvia. âMiss Pond, this company doesnât belong to you alone. You canât act like a dictator.â
Silvia challenged him. âIn that case, weâll look at your earnings at the end of the year. If your department continues to make a loss, itâll affect the other shareholdersâ bonus.â
Immediately after, all the shareholders looked at Darrion differently. The shareholders who had initially planned to cause trouble like Darrion felt a cold shiver run down their spines.
Silvia did not look at Darrion anymore. She appeared indifferent as she said, âIâll make quarterly and annual plans for each department. If it performs way worse than planned by the end of the year, Iâll either hand the department over to someone else or shut it down.â
Seeing that everyone was silent, Silvia got up and said, âIf there are no issues, weâll end the meeting here. Dismissed!â
Darrion stared at her gloomily as she left.
In the subsequent days, Silvia kept herself busy with her company. She did not interact much with Neil either. They would only meet whenever they left and returned to the mansion every day.
Soon, it was the day before Dulcieâs birthday. After Silvia punched out, she headed to JM to pick up the gown she had prepared for Dulcie.
As soon as she entered the shopping mall, she bumped into Ada and Melanie. They were holding hands while shopping.
When they saw Silvia, their expressions changed.
Melanie frowned at Silvia as she coldly asked, âWhy are you here?â
âI came to do something.â
Melanie was her mother-in-law, but Silvia knew that Ada had always been her ideal daughter-in-law. Therefore, no matter how hard Silvia tried to please her all these years, Melanie never took her seriously.
However, Silvia had gotten over it. She was also not as nervous as she used to be when she faced Melanie.
Melanie was annoyed when she noticed that Silvia was about to leave. âIâm planning to buy two dresses. Since we bumped into each other, come and help me out!â she said.
In the past, Melanie would often buy dresses that did not suit her. However, after she went shopping with Silvia a few times, she realized that Silvia could always find the most suitable dress for her. Other rich ladies would also compliment her when they met her. This made her get used to letting Silvia pick dresses for her whenever she went shopping.
She was shopping with Ada today. The dresses that Ada picked for her looked nice as well. Yet, when she put them on, they did not seem as great as those picked by Silvia.
Even though Silvia heard Melanieâs commanding tone, she remained indifferent. âI have something to do. Ada can help you out.â

Melanie was furious. She glared at Silvia as she gritted her teeth and said, âSheâs pissing me off! I shouldnât have let her marry Neil!â
âMrs. Remus, donât be angry. Thatâs just how she is. Sheâs not doing it on purpose.â
When Melanie heard this, she frowned without another word.
