âThat doesnât have to be the case. You just have to do something for me, and Iâll let you go.â
An hour later, Silvia walked out of Lose Demon. Scorpionâs words were still echoing in her ears.
He had asked her to consider his request, but it was obvious that she had no other choice.
Her mind raced as she walked toward the car. She was about to get in when she suddenly heard a cold voice.
âSilvia, arenât you supposed to be asleep in the mansion? Why are you here?â
Silvia turned around and saw Neil standing behind her in displeasure. There was a hint of surprise in her eyes.
She had been deep in thought, so she did not notice when Neil appeared behind her.
She remained silent for a while before she said, âDid you come out to look for me?â
âWhat do you think?â
Neil walked up to her and lowered his head to look her in the eye. âYou havenât answered my question.â
âNeil, this is a private matter. I donât want to talk about it, okay?â she whispered.
The tension between them was palpable after that.
He remained silent for a few seconds and said in a low voice, âAlright. Letâs go home.â
Both of them did not say anything on the way back to the mansion.
Silvia stared out of the car window and got lost in her own thoughts. Meanwhile, Neil wore a cold expression and grabbed the steering wheel very tightly. He was obviously suppressing his anger.
After they reached the mansion, Silvia bade him goodnight and returned to her bedroom.
Neil stared intently at her bedroom door, and his eyes were filled with dissatisfaction.
Even though they were back together, he felt like he no longer understood her.
When Neil arrived at his office the next morning, Curtis immediately updated him on the progress of his investigation.
âMr. Remus, I only learned that Miss Pond went to the most luxurious private room in Lose Demon last night. I canât seem to find any information on the person she met and what happened.â
Neil had a ruthless look in his eyes. âContinue your investigation. I want the identity of the person she met!â
âMr. Remus, Iâm afraid that I canât get more information. The surveillance cameras in that private room have been destroyed. Unless Miss Pond tells you willingly, thereâs nothing else I can do,â Curtis said solemnly.
Right then, it felt as if the air in the room had dropped to a freezing temperature. Curtis lowered his head and kept quiet as he was too afraid to look Neil in the face.
It seemed like forever before Neil said, âYou may excuse yourself.â
After Curtis left, Neil stared at the document on his table for a very long time. Eventually, he took out his cell phone and made a call.
âHelp me look into a person.â
Over at MY Corporation, Dulcie noticed that Silviaâs mind was elsewhere during their morning meeting. Once the meeting ended, Dulcie went to see her in her office.
âDid you have a fight with Neil? Why do you seem so distracted this morning? Youâve never been like this before.â
Silvia shook her head. âIâm fine. Iâve probably just been a little tired recently.â
âIf youâre really tired, you should rest for a few days. After all, MY Corporation depends on you.â
âI know. About your father, if you want me to go easier on him, I couldââ
Before she could finish her sentence, Dulcie interrupted her.
âItâs fine. You donât need to do anything. Just proceed as you usually would.â
âAlright. You may excuse yourself.â
After Dulcie left, Silvia fell into deep contemplation. Finally, she decided to call Scorpion.
It did not take long for her to hear Scorpionâs cold voice.
âYouâre calling me this early in the morning, Iris. Have you given it some thought?â
