Silvia felt that Ryanâs gaze was a little strange. However, she had no intention of hiding her identity since she already attended the party.
âYeah. Why?â
Ryanâs eyes flickered with an inexplicable emotion. âIâm sorry. I didnât know that you were the president of MY Corporation. If I had known, I wouldnât have instructed my secretary to cancel our meeting that day.â
She was momentarily stunned as she found his words a bit odd.
âMr. Anderson, thereâs no need to apologize. Thatâs normal.â
There was a glimpse of disappointment in his eyes, and he softly said, âIf thereâs another opportunity for collaboration, Iâll prioritize MY Corporation.â
Silvia was surprised, but she soon realized it was probably for Neilâs sake. She smiled and replied, âThank you, Mr. Anderson.â
âI mean it.â
Taken aback by his sincerity, she was about to respond when a cold voice interrupted them from behind.
âWhat are you two talking about?â
Silvia wanted to roll her eyes, and she coldly said, âItâs none of your business.â
Neilâs expression darkened. He sat beside her and replaced her cocktail with a glass of milk.
âDrink less. Itâs better for your health.â
Silvia wanted to talk back, but she did not want to quarrel with him in front of Ryan. So, she lowered her head and remained silent.
âRyan, go ahead and handle your business. Thereâs no need to stay here with us.â
Ryanâs eyes darkened a little as he looked at Neil. âOkay. I have some business to discuss, so Iâll go over there.â
Once he left, Neil turned to Silvia and said, âKeep your distance from him in the future.â
Silvia glanced at him with hostility. âDonât worry. Even if I were desperate for a man, I wouldnât target those close to you.â
He frowned but said nothing.
Silvia quietly finished her cake. When she stood up to leave, he grabbed her wrist again.
âCan we talk about our situation?â
She looked at him in disbelief and asked, âHere? Now?â
âIs it not okay?â
âItâs inconvenient.â
Then, she shook his hand off. At this moment, Dulcie walked over to her and pretended not to see Neil.
âSilvia, follow me. Weâre meeting some clients.â
âSure.â
Once they were out of his sight, Dulcie angrily said, âWhat the hell is wrong with Neil?! He brought Ada to the party, but he keeps bothering you. Is he trying to ride two horses at the same time?â
Silvia fell silent for a while. Then, she looked at Dulcie with a complicated expression and said, âPlease try not to use idioms when you speak in the future.â
âWhy?â
âIâm afraid others will laugh at you.â
Dulcie rolled her eyes in anger. âIs that what youâre focused on? You should know that heâs been bringing Ada to every dinner party this month.
People say sheâs his girlfriend, and he doesnât deny it. Yet, heâs bothering you again. Heâs such a sc*mbag!â
Silvia nodded in agreement. âYouâre right.â
Dulcie frowned. âIâm being serious right now. I donât want you to repeat the same mistake.â
Silvia lowered her gaze and subconsciously clenched her fists.
âDonât worry. I wonât.â
âAlright. Iâm just worried you might get hurt again.â

Neil did not attempt to look for her again even after the party ended.
Since Silvia had quite a few drinks, Dulcie arranged for a chauffeur to take her home. She told Silvia to call her once she arrived.
On the way back, Silvia looked out of the window with a blank expression and became lost in her thoughts.
