Mindy ignored Ada and got into the car.

Idris glared at Ada too. “Look at the mess you’ve created! If the projects fall through, I won’t let you off the hook!”

He followed Mindy into the car, and their black Mercedes quickly disappeared from view.

Ada clenched her fists. After a while, she also entered her car and returned to the Pond Family’s mansion.

During the ride home, Mindy and Idris appeared extremely unpleasant as they sat in the back. There was a tense silence throughout the journey.

Mindy frowned and said, “You’ve always criticized her as well. If you want to apologize to her, we should do it together. I won’t bear the humiliation on my own.”

“How dare you!”

Idris’s face turned red with anger. He glared at Mindy and said, “If you hadn’t badmouthed her every single day, my relationship with her wouldn’t have soured. You need to resolve this. If you can’t do it, maybe we should consider getting a divorce.”

“What?!”

His words shocked Mindy, and she looked at him in disbelief.

“Idris Pond, I’ve given birth to two daughters for you! I’ve also taken care of the family all these years so that you wouldn’t have to worry about us!

Yet, you want to divorce me over a project?!”

Inexplicable emotions flashed through his eyes. The project was not the only reason. He had witnessed Mindy shouting at Silvia earlier, and that had transformed his indifference toward her into disgust. He could not stand being in this marriage any longer.

“I’ve told you what you need to do. I don’t care how you do it. I just want the East City projects to proceed smoothly.”

Mindy’s eyes immediately turned red. She gritted her teeth and said, “Are you trying to make me lose my temper? I’ll never apologize to her!”

Idris looked at her coldly. “You can choose the divorce, then.”

She sneered. “Fine, but you’ll have to give me half of your wealth.”

“What have you contributed to Pond Corporation over the years? Why should I give you half of my wealth? The most I can offer is a portion of it. Don’t even think about getting the company’s shares or my real estate!”

“How could you say that, Idris Pond?! When I married you, you told me that you wanted me as your partner. I’ve fulfilled that role for many years, and now you’re claiming that I haven’t contributed anything?!”

“You just take care of the kids at home, have afternoon tea, and go shopping in your free time. Do you really think you’ve contributed a lot?”

Mindy found that Idris had become a completely different person. Everything was about personal gain, and she felt like a discarded pawn with no value in his eyes.

She fell silent. As she lowered her gaze in contemplation, she subconsciously clenched her fists.

Her sudden silence surprised Idris for a moment, but he continued, “You need to figure out what to do. If we can’t regain this project, we’ll get a divorce.”

After that, the two of them stop speaking. Idris dropped Mindy off at the Pond Family’s mansion and left.

When Ada returned home, she found Mindy sitting on the couch in tears. She quickly walked over and sat next to her.

“Mom, did you and Dad argue because of me? I’m sorry. I had no idea that Neil gave the project to Dad because of Silvia. After I spoke to Neil on the phone, you told me that he had agreed to include Pond Corporation in the project, so I just assumed it was because of my call.

“If I had known that it would lead to this, I would have called Neil for confirmation. It’s all my fault!”

Mindy gradually stopped crying as she listened to Ada’s explanation.

She saw the concern and guilt in Ada’s eyes. As a result, the anger in her heart began to subside.
