Silvia contemplated for a moment before she nodded and said, âOkay. Can I go over tomorrow?â
âYes, you can.â
Early the next morning, she drove to the police station.
It had been a few days, and Darrion did not look as lively as before. He looked ten years older, and his hair had turned gray.
While he was imprisoned, he experienced how cruel the world could be.
Relatives, whom he used to help, all refused to aid him when they saw him in a tough spot. They even could not wait to cut ties with his family.
Darrion finally saw their true faces, but it was too late.
When he saw Silvia, he was indignant.
âSilvia Pond, Justus is dead, and Iâm going to be imprisoned. Are you happy now?â
She was unmoved. âYou and Justus had it coming. I have nothing to be happy about.â
He gritted his teeth. Even though he could not accept his fate, he knew that he had no chance to challenge her again.
âI asked you to come because I wanted to know your plans for my 10% of MY Corporation.â
Silvia raised her eyebrows in curiosity and looked at him. âWhat are you getting at?â
âIâd like to transfer my shares to my son. Donât worry. He wonât join MY Corporation as long as my annual dividend is credited to his account!â
She smiled. âMr. Torres, youâve got it all figured out.â
Darrion knew that she would not easily agree, so he coldly said, âIf you agree, Iâll keep your secret forever. But if you disagree, I can sell that information for a lot of money.â
Silvia narrowed her eyes. âAre you threatening me?â
He shook his head. âWhy would I? Iâm begging you.â
She paused for a while before she slowly said, âIâll transfer five million dollars to him, but you and your family can forget about getting MY Corporationâs shares!â
âSilvia Pond, donât go too far!â
âMr. Torres, youâre in no place to negotiate with me.â
âArenât you afraid that Iâll expose your secret?â
Silvia appeared calm as she confidently said, âMr. Torres, Iâm guessing that youâll be spending many years locked away. If your family realizes that you still earn a dividend of five million dollars from MY Corporation every year, they might visit you from time to time. Youâll also have a better time in prison.
âIf you expose my secret, youâll get some money. But once your family discovers that youâre worthless, do you think theyâll still care about you?â
Darrionâs expression was extremely gloomy. He could not deny anything that she said.
He had no other choice, so he brought up the secret to gain leverage in their negotiation.
Unexpectedly, Silvia had seen through his thoughts!
âOkay. Iâll transfer my shares to you, but you have to get a lawyer to draft the agreement!â
âSure.â
Since they had come to a consensus, they signed the agreement soon after the lawyer drafted it out.
âLetâs have a pleasant collaboration, Mr. Torres!â
Darrionâs expression darkened. He glared at Silvia and said, âYouâre relentless. Youâll regret it one day!â
She smiled and did not take his words seriously.
âMr. Torres, if I was truly relentless, I would get that 10% back from you without spending a cent. Donât forget that I gave you those shares in the first place.â
She left right after that.
As she walked out of the police station, she saw Winstonâs car parked at the entrance.
âHow did it go? Have you settled everything?â
