There was a hint of anger in Neilâs voice.
âIâm on my way back to Remus Mansion. Whatâs wrong?â
âWeâll talk about it when you get back.â
Silvia frowned when she heard the disconnect tone soon after.
She stepped into the mansion half an hour later, and his icy voice immediately echoed in the living room.
âSilvia, youâre getting bolder and bolder! After having dinner with another guy last time, youâre out on a blind date today! Donât forget that weâre not divorced!â
She changed her shoes with an indifferent expression and sat across from him.
âHow did you know? Did you ask someone to follow me again?â
Neil sneered. âDo I need to have someone follow you? Youâre doing it so openly as if you want everyone to know! Youâve tarnished the Remus Familyâs reputation!â
âLook whoâs talking! You and Ada have done far worse than me!â
âThereâs nothing between me and Ada. Donât let me catch you speaking ill of her again!â
Silvia laughed. âIf you dare cheat on me, donât be afraid of me talking about it!â
He glared at her and angrily said, âWhat about you? Youâre already married, yet youâre meeting other men and going on blind dates. Canât you live without a man?â
Her face turned pale, but she stood up and looked at him with contempt.
âYes, I canât live without a man. Even so, I donât want to continue this marriage with you. Men like you, who cheat, disgust me!â
Without another word, Silvia left the living room.
Neilâs furious voice rang out behind her. âStop right there, Silvia!â
Pretending not to hear him, she quickly entered the bedroom and slammed the door shut.
He was enraged by her actions, and he stared at the door coldly.
All of a sudden, his phone rang.
âNeil, Silvia hasnât returned, has she?â
âWhatâs wrong?â
âMy secretary just found out that Dulcie was supposed to be Ethan Hearthâs blind date. I told my secretary to contact Dulcie and learned that she had something important to attend to, so she asked Silvia to meet Ethan and explain things.â
When he did not get a response from Neil, David felt a bit nervous.
âNeil... why arenât you saying anything?â
âDonât tell me things unless youâre sure next time!â Neil snapped.
He ended the call in frustration. He felt guilty when thought about the things he had just said to Silvia. There was also a hint of pain in his heart.
Silvia did not leave the bedroom until dinnertime.
She walked out with a bag and headed to the entrance to change her shoes.
âWhere are you going?â
After she was done changing, she looked at Neil with indifference.
âMr. Remus, I think itâs no longer suitable for us to live together. Iâve decided to return to the mansion in North City. If anything comes up, ask Curtis to give me a call.â
Neilâs voice was hoarse as he asked, âDo you despise me that much?â
âItâs hard not to despise you after what youâve done.â
With that, she left the mansion.
After some time passed, a gloomy Neil slowly set down his bowl and pushed all the plates on the table to the floor.
Back at the mansion in North City, Silvia made plans to prepare some spaghetti for dinner, but there was only water in the refrigerator.
