Chapter 40: CHAPTER 40

Tony was sick.

Jeff heard Charlie said that Tony was ill without warning and they were caught off guard.

He also said that the Hemmawich family was in a mess, but Jeff felt that Alan still looked calm and he was not particularly panicked.

It's just that he won't go to Jeff right away when he gets off work.

Instead, he has to go to the hospital first, and then pick Jeff and the others back.

Jeff didn't ask much, nor did Alan mention it but Jeff always felt that Tony, who had always been in good health, suddenly fell ill and it was surely related to that person's death.

He didn't know the details but he had heard a little bit from Alan's words and only knew the vague appearance.

He didn't like Tony, and he also disagrees with this person's behaviour but thinking about the fact that everyone has their own powerlessness and unspeakable concealment, he just sighed in the end.

Today Alan arrived a little late. He just left the hospital at 8 o'clock.

He called Jeff to report, "I may be late. You and Lil Rak wait for me in the store."

"If you're too busy, I will go back with Lil Rak first, it's okay. We are renovating here so it's not easy to drive here." Jeff said, "You go home directly, don't come to pick us up."

Alan laughed in a low voice, "You are feeling sorry for me?"

"...Don't come anymore!"

Jeff hung up the phone silently.

Alan's face has really become thicker recently. Why didn't Jeff know that this person was actually like this before?

Jeff was playing in the store holding Lil Rak for a while, and the phone rang again. It was Alan who called.

"I've arrived. It's on the opposite side. Come here."

Jeff picked up the sleepy Lil Rak, "Well, I'm going home."

When he got out of the restaurant, he saw Alan standing across the street, leaning on the car. Waiting for them.

He wore a camel-colored windbreaker and a white sweater inside to make his slender figure more perfect.

His exquisite sculptural face seemed to be haloed by the street lamp, and everyone who passed by was attracted by Alan.

Looking at it, Jeff also heard the girl's whisper in awe.

"He is so handsome!"

"Is it the one that often appears on the financial channel, Hemmawich something?!"

"I'll gonna faint, he is more handsome than on TV, he can make a debut..."

Jeff curled his lips.

As for? How can he be so handsome, and even with a bad temper like Alan, he can make a debut?

Jeff will become the number one anti-fan when he debuted.

Alan looked at Jeff from a distance, and saw that he wrinkled and turned into an unhappy bun.

This is also very cute.

A smile appeared on Alan's face.

His gaze followed Jeff.

Jeff led Lil Rak to the zebra crossing and waited for the red light.

Lil Rak saw Alan and immediately waved at him and shouted enthusiastically from far away, "Uncle Alan! You've come!!!"

Alan smiled and waved at him.

In the next second, Alan's smile stopped

abruptly.

He saw a familiar figure with a hat suddenly appeared behind Jeff but  Alan couldnt remember who it was. When Alan was thinking about who it was, there was a bunch of cars in the distance.

The headlights came over and accompanied by the sharp sound of cars, Alan saw a ghostly and gloomy face.

It's North Supanut!

His face changed drastically, "Jeff! Be careful!"

Jeff raised his head and looked at Alan puzzledly. "What?" As soon as the voice fell, he felt that he was pushed hard from behind, and then the whole person was uncontrollably pushed. Fall forward.

Not far away, a sports car galloped up.

Outside the operating room.

In a few hours, there were waves after waves of people kept being driven out because of being too noisy.

The nurses watched helplessly as these elites of aristocratic families who had only been watched on TV lost their demeanour and made a fuss.

There is a show of who is more sad than anyone else.

At the entrance of the hospital, there are reporters carrying short cannons, waiting for the results of the surgery to directly broadcast Alan Hemmawich's condition online.

In the corner, Jeff looked at the nurses going back and forth and at the same time accepted the undisguised scrutiny and nit-picking of the Hemmawich family.

"This is Jeff Thanapon...?"

"Why is he here? Wasn't he kicked out?"

"He got the news. I don't even understand this?"

"No, is it true that Alan is in critical condition? Now, even he rushed to get a piece of the pie?"

Jeff seemed to have heard nothing, sitting there calmly and motionless.

Lil Rak was frightened, crying all the time on the way to the hospital, just stopped crying and desperately retracted into his arms, "Dad. Uncle Alan-Uncle Alan bleeds..."

Jeff kissed the little guy. "It's okay to be baby. It's okay. It's okay."

Sonic also rushed over soon. He anxiously pushed away the bunch of relatives who saw him and immediately

surrounded him but he ran to Jeff, "My brother... Is he okay?"

Jefg shook his head, "I don't know."

Sonic received a phone call from hospital that Alan involved in a car accident at school.

He was completely frightened. Tony just fell ill but he didn't expect his brother to also be out.

He rushed to the hospital desperately and saw Jeff. He wanted to scream and curse Jeff but when seeing Lil Rak's face turned pale and trembling with fear in Jeff's arms, he just suffocated it back and then remained silent.

Jeff kept staring at the lights on the operating room.

The scene of Alan running towards him was repeatedly playing in his mind.

Then it was the appearance of him fainting on the ground.

Everyone thought it was just an accident, but only Jeff.knew that Alan had done it to save him.

Someone pushed him deliberately behind him, and Alan was hit by a car to save him.

All the noise disappeared, and only the closed door remained in his world.

He prayed silently in his heart. He doesn't know how long it took.

The door finally opened.

Someone walked out of it. The surrounding people immediately rushed up.

Jeff followed the doctor and wanted to ask what's going on but people pushed him aside.

It was Alan's assistant Pavel who supported him.

"Mr. Thanapon, Mr. Hemmawich is fine." Pavel relieved him. "The doctor said he just had some bruises and a slight broken arm."

Jeff shook his head, "But he shed a lot of blood."

"The police have already investigated. I got the driver and adjusted the surveillance video. The car slowed down when it drove over, so Mr. Hemmawich's injury is not serious and should be able to wake up in a while."

"Really?"

"Yes." the assistant nodded, "Mr. Thanapon, the police still need you to do an investigation together. Is it convenient now?"

"Convenient." Jeff nodded first, and then thought of his son. He turned around to look, the little guy sat on a stool timidly looking at the strangers around him, "Baby, Dad..."

"You leave him to me."

Sonic walked over and sat next to his niece, "He was so scared but you still want him to go see the police with you? Your heart is so great."

Jefg looked at Sonic in surprise.

He didn't expect he would take the initiative to help. After all, Sonic had a big quarrel with Alan because of him last time so he should hate Lil Rak.

But Lil Rak didn't seem to resist him, and moved to his side.

"Baby, will you stay with your uncle for a while? Dad will be back soon."

Lil Rak immediately burst into tears, and pitifully begged him for a hug, "No, Dad don't go..."

Jeff couldn't bear to see him crying, and didn't know how to comfort him but saw Sonic sighed, then picked up the little guy, "Let's go. I'll go with you. You go make a transcript and I will take him to wait for you outside."

Jeff was stunned, "Thank you."

"No problem." Sonic rolled his eyes, then paused and whispered to Jeff, "You are quite calm. If I were you, I will be scared and cry."

Jeff smiled reluctantly.

In the eyes of outsiders, Jeff was always calm. He calmly called the police, calmly called an ambulance, went to the hospital and waited calmly outside and then calmly accepted the investigation.

Even the police were surprised that his logic could be so clear.

After Jeff finished the transcript and returned to the hospital, Alan had been transferred to the general ward.

A group of people stood there outside the ward, looking more worried than one.

Jeff held Lil Rak and stood aside. He wanted to go in and see Alan but he couldn't get in.

After a while, Pavel walked out of the ward and said to Jeff, "Mr. Thanapon, Mr. Hemmawich wants to see you."

The outside of the ward became quiet, and everyone looked at Jeff in surprise.

The first persons Alan wanted to see when he woke up was actually him?

How could it be him?

Before Jeff could react, Sonic sneered at the group of people with weird expressions, took the Lil Rak from Jeff's arms, and kicked him lightly, "Why are you in daze? Go ahead."

"Oh, oh."

Jefg ran over and slowly entered the ward in the strange eyes of everyone.

Pavel went out. He and Alan were the only two left in the ward.

Alan had woken up and was sitting halfway on the hospital bed, wearing a hospital gown with a plaster on his left arm and a few bruises on his face.

Seeing Jeff comes in, Alan immediately smiled at him.

He whispered, "Jeff."

Hearing Alan's voice, Jeff curled his lips and the tears that had been holding back for a long time finally came out at this moment.

In fact, he was not calm at all, his hands were shaking until now. His mind was blank when he was making the transcript and his handwriting was also crooked. At one glance would reveal how flustered Jeff was.

He was scared to death.

He was no longer awkward, frankly told himself over and over again that everything is okay

Jeff was very afraid of losing Alan.

Alan didn't expect Jeff to cry. When he saw him crying, Alan immediately panicked.

He wanted to get out of bed but he accidentally pulled the wound. He couldn't help but snorted. Jeff immediately walked over nervously to him.

Weeping and asked him, "What's the matter? Is the wound open again? I'll call a doctor."

"It's okay." Alan took Jeff to sit to the bed and gently wiped his tears, "Don't cry. I am really okay."

Jeff sniffed, eyes flushed and asked him in a low voice, "Does it hurt?"

Alan's heart was filled with untimely joy.

Jeff was feeling sorry for him, and he was very happy.

But he hoped that Jeff would care for him.

At this time, he tried to say that it didn't hurt. It was stupid and unnecessary so he nodded and honestly said, "It hurts."

"You did this to save me." Jeff lowered his head, tears hanging on his eyelashes.

His voice full of self-blame, "Alan, if that car doesn't slow down, if you..."

Jeff couldn't continue.

He didn't dare to talk about that topic and he felt uncomfortable even thinking about it. He was terribly afraid of it.

"I've said, I will protect you." Alan put him in his arms, and then suddenly realized that Jeff also fell when he was pushed away, and immediately asked, "Are you injured in any way? Do you want to go? Do a check?"

Jeff turned his face to look at him, and met Alan's gaze.

Alan's expression was extremely gentle, and Jeff vaguely heard the sound of melting ice and snow.

This is plainly like, plainly cherished.

The worries and helplessness of these days finally completely diffused in his eyes.

No amount of caution and hesitation can match that person's desperate figure.

Jeff remembered that when he was a child, he especially envied that the classmates in his class had parents who regarded them as jewels in their hands.

As an orphan, he always hoped that he could be regarded as a treasure and cherished by others but the more he grew up, the more he thinks he is a delusional.

He reluctantly admitted that some were born unworthy.

But now he wants to overthrow this idea because he is convinced that he has meet the right person.
