Chapter 27: CHAPTER 27

PRECIOUS TIMEWords: 11140

Alan was stunned, not knowing if it was his illusion.

After arriving at the Hemmawich family, Jeff was even more indifferent to him.

Although Alan could have felt that Jeff's gentleness towards him was formulaic and it was due to his personality.

After arriving at this house, Jeff seemed to have changed, even the temperature of this floor dropped.

In fact, Alan was right. After entering the door, he saw that Jeff's whole demeanor changed, as if his soul had left his body.

When he is away from this house, Jeff may still have a kind of free and easy personality as if he has gone through the past and doesn't need to mention it again.

But when he comes back to this house, those things he thought had passed as if they happened yesterday, that kind of feeling of aggrieved feeling.

He came back all of a sudden, he couldn't wait to go up and beat Alan a few times to get rid of his grievances at the time and the depression that he is now full of.

"Dad!"

Lil Rak cry pulled Jeff back from the memory.

The little guy was still crawling around on the bed excitedly. He liked this little bed, soft and fragrant, his eyes narrowed into crescents with joy.

"Baby, we may be living here for the time being." Jeff consulted the little guy, "Do you like it here?"

Lil Rak tilted his head, and whispered back to him, "I like it. I like to be with my dad. Together."

He was too young and his expressive ability was not very good but Jeff understood what the little guy meant at a glance.

He leaned forward and kissed his son's face, while Lil Rak hugged him happily.

"Dad. Uncle Alan, he live here too?"

Jeff nodded. Lil Rak wrinkled his forehead and looked confused," Sky said that only family can live together, so... so I live with dad. However, Sky can't live with me so why Uncle Alan can live with us? Uncle Alan is my family?"

Jeff didn't expect Lil Rak to asked about this so soon. After avoiding the question, he didn't know how to answer him for a while.

Fortunately, the child's thoughts are unconstrained. Before Jeff came up with a suitable answer, his eyes were attracted by the car and dinosaur dolls on the shelf opposite and he threw two of it in Jeff's hands for him to see.

Alan was staying next door and he began to hate why the soundproofing effect at home was so good that he couldn't hear any sound.

After a long time, he heard the sound of the door opening next door.

He immediately walked to the door, pretending to have just come out of the bedroom.

Jeff ignored him, took Lik Rak downstairs.

Alan followed, "Where are you going? I'll accompany you."

"I'll go back to the store. No need, I'll check the bus route."

"It's very far ride. The bus takes at least an hour."

Jeff squatted down to help Lil Rak tidy up his clothes. The little guy was still not awake, yawning and tearful.

Alan saw that he was ignored but offered, "Jeff, I will prepare a car and let the driver pick you up every day?"

Jeff originally wanted to refuse but then he thought again. This place is so far away from the restaurant.

Lil Rak also has to go to kindergarten and it's inconvenient to go to restaurants by himself.

It was originally Alan's idea, so why not make use of it? He and Lil Rak dont need to work hard running around.

Alan arranged the car for him and watched eagerly as Jeff took the little guy into the car but he didn't dare to go forward and say a word.

Jefg helped the little guy adjust the child seat while Alan was still standing outside the car.

He noticed that Alan frowned and was looking at him.

How should he put it, that expression looks a bit wrong?

What? why did Alan show such an expression with facial paralysis and what exactly is he wrong?

Jeff was speechless, thinking that this person was really weird.

Alan originally had a meeting on Sunday but he it turned down because he was going to pick up Jeff.

However, he didn't expect that Jeff stayed for less than half an hour, and then went to the restaurant after putting down his luggage. He also deliberately turned down Alan who was working.

He read the documents in the study for a long time, without a word in his eyes and went downstairs irritably.

He happened to meet the new Sister Pan from the old house.

Alan nodded at her politely and then turned to go back. He went to the study to continue reading the documents but the next second he suddenly thought of something.

Suddenly, turned around and went downstairs.

"Sister Pan, are there any simple home-cooked dishes that can be learned at once?"

In Alan's twenty-seven years of life, he had never been before.

Alan, who was able to handle everything at hand, soon discovered that he had no talent for cooking. In other words, he was defeated.

Especially when he had a hand injury, it was inconvenient to move and it was hard to cut a potato.

Sister Pan, who was instructing by the side, really couldn't stand it and wanted to help, "Young master, I'll help."

Alan held up the kitchen knife, staring at the potatoes on the chopping board, frowning, "No."

Sister Pan rubbed her fingers around her waist, she watched Alan's clumsy movements with a smile.

She had been working in the old house before and had little contact with Alan but the servants would also spread gossip, saying that Alan was a good person and he didn't treat his servants harshly.

This person also extremely indifferent to people and they are not grounded at all. On the first day when she came, she saw Alan holding a kitchen knife and chopping potatoes.

It should be made for Mr. Thanapon and Lil Rak.

Sister Pan sighed, "Young master, you really work hard."

Alan sighed as he looked at the potato with different thicknesses, "How can it be considered work hard."

He tossed in the kitchen for a long time, with Sister Pan's help, he finally came up with a few dishes that looked decent enough.

He remembered that Jeff usually closes around nine o'clock because it is far away from where he originally lived so he will close half an hour earlier and will be home at about nine o'clock.

So at nine o'clock, he brought all the dishes to the table.

At about 9:30, Jeff finally returned to Hemmawich's house.

After a day of work, he was tired. Lil Rak was lying on his shoulders snoring with his milk bottle still in his mouth, sleeping soundly.

As soon as Jeff entered the door, he found that Auntie Chod was no longer there. She was replaced by a new person, who looked younger and looked kinder than Auntie Chod.

While Jeff was talking to her, he thought that Alan's movements were really fast.

He only mentioned about the change in the afternoon, and he changed the maid immediately in the evening.

Entering the living room, he found Alan sitting at the dining table.

He wore a white sweater and his hair was not as meticulously combed as usual. He sat quietly at the table with his chin dragged.

The shadows from the light softened his original sharp face. With a layer of ironed filters, Jeff even felt that the moment he looked up at him, a sweet dimple smile on his face makes Jeff feel dizzy.

"You're back."

"Well." Jeff eyes scanned the dishes on the table,

"You haven't eaten yet?"

"I was waiting for you."

"I have eaten with Lil Rak at the store."

Jeff was at a loss. Glancing at Alan, he didn't quite understand what's on Alan mind.

It was nine o'clock. Could he and the baby still be hungry?

"You don't need to cook my food in the future, we will solve it by ourselves."

Alan was stunned.

Jeff was tired for a day and didn't even bother to talk to him again, "I'm a little tired. I'll go to bed first."

After saying that, he carried Lil Rak upstairs.

He remembered that there was a large shower room on the innermost floor of the second floor.

He wanted to soak before going to bed to relieve his fatigue.

This is probably the only part of his life here that he thinks is not bad.

The table full of dishes remained untouched.

Lost emotions filled Alan whole person.

Some memories slipped into Alan's mind silently.

Four years ago, there would often be a person who spent time and energy making a table full of dishes and waiting for someone to come home with anticipation like him.

The painful minute and second passed but in the end, it was answered by a cold refusal.

No, it wasn't a refusal. Alan thought that at that time, he was stingy and even didn't said anything to Jeff, he completely ignored him.

Alan sat there quietly.

It turned out to be such a feeling. He finally understood Jeff's feeling now. Karma is a bitch.

Sister Pan came over. She didn't hear the conversation between Jeff and Alan just now, and asked Alan, "Young master, let me heat it for you. The food is cold."

Alan shook his head, "No need."

Alan got up to go upstairs.

Sister Pan asked him, "Young Master, you haven't eaten dinner yet. Should I cook you some supper later?"

Alan still shook his head, "Sister Pan, I'll go to bed. I have no appetite."

He walked to the second floor. Downstairs, he noticed that the door of Jeff's room was wide open so he subconsciously glanced inside, only to find that there was no one in the room and call out but no one answered.

Alan was feeling puzzled.

He saw the Lil Rak climbed up from the bed then looked around blankly, woke up in a dazed sleep.

Seeing this relatively unfamiliar environment and seeing there is no Jeff, the fleshy little face immediately wrinkled into a ball.

"Dad, daddy...wuuuuu..."

Alan hurried over, picked up the little guy and softly coaxed him.

He recently watched a lot of books and videos on parenting but even after coaxing for a long time but Lil Rak is still crying and he is helpless.

Fortunately, when Jeff came out of the bath, he heard a Lil Rak cry.

He quickly put on his clothes and rushed over then took the little guy from Alan's arms.

"Baby, Dad is here."

Lil Rak stopped crying as soon as he got into his arms, a pair of bewildered tearful eyes began to fight with double eyelids.

Jeff gently patted his back and hummed him to sleep. Lil Rak fell asleep again in his arms.

Jeff turned around and found that Alan hadn't left yet, instead looking at him in a daze.

He whispered to Alan, "I just went to take a bath, thank you for taking care of the Lil Rak."

Alan wanted to say something but Jeff began to issue a visiting order, "You have to go to work tomorrow, go to bed early. We're going to bed too."

After Alan left, Jeff turned off the light and went to bed.

When he close his eyes, he can smell the faint fragrance in the room.

This was the first night he returned to this place. Jeff thought he would not be able to sleep but he did not expect to close his eyes and listen to Lil Rak's snoring and he fell into a deep sleep before long.

On the other side of the wall, Alan stood in front of the window, not sleepy at all.

Lin Zhixia, who had just taken a bath, had mists in his eyes and his fair skin was pink. He was wearing white short-sleeved pyjamas and even his elbows were dripping with sheer powder which was so beautiful that Alan was shocked.

It's like a steaming little rice cake just out of the oven.

The picture took root in Alan's mind, and he couldn't get rid of it.

He tossed and turned on the bed and fell asleep in the early morning.
