"Jeff is not present, so we don't have to be like this when talking between us?"
Pete put the smile away, "Lil Rak was missing last time. It was taken away by your family, right?"
Alan glanced at him, like bringing a knife to his face.
"You don't need to look at me like this, Jeff didn't mention it to me."
Pete frowned. "I asked Lil Rak. He said that Grandpa took him away. Alan, you know what Jeff is most worried about and why torture him with this thing over and over again?"
"This is my family affair."
Pete's tone increased, "You and him are already divorced. Even if you go to court, you may not be fully sure that you can win. Why don't you let Jeff go and let him live a good life with Lil Rak?"
Alan was bored.
Tired of this person Pete, tired of his mouthful about of Jeff, seems to show how close he is to Jeff. Alan is also tired of him always accusing him in a preaching tone, implying that he and Jeff are on the same line and that Alan is the enemy.
Even more tired of his absence for four years, knowing Pete was Jeff's only support.
"Don't say it as if you are thinking about Jeff wholeheartedly. Don't you have any selfishness?" Alan sneered, "It's so nice. You don't want me to appear in front of Jeff. Isn't it just because you know that you don't stand a chance? Teacher Pete is too inferior."
Pete chuckled lightly, as if Alan was telling a funny joke.
"Alan, you don't think that Jeff still likes you now? Or in other words, you don't think that he wants you to meet Lil Rak because he wants to remarry you, right?"
After the reunion, Alan became clear. He realized that Jeff was no longer as loving to him as he did four years ago, not to mention that Jeff said so clearly that night.
Alan is arrogant, but not stupid. He just competes with Pete and doesn't want to fall behind.
But Pete went ahead expose his disguise into bits and pieces.
Alan's face immediately became ugly and Pete felt a lot happier seeing that his attitude was finally not so arrogant.
"I hope it will be the last time I see you here."
Alan closed his notebook irritably, his eyes followed Pete and when he saw him go directly to the small restaurant, Jeff smile when he saw Pete coming.
Not knowing what he was talking about, Jeff looked very relaxed.
This was a state he didn't shown in front of Alan.
He saw Jeff suddenly slipped and he was about to fall. He stood up abruptly, and then realized that there was such a distance between the two, and Pete who was beside him immediately stepped forward and supported him.
Jeff smiled embarrassedly when he saw Pete patted his chest.
Alan sat back a little frustrated.
There seemed to be a handful of withered grass in his heart, stabbing him nowhere.
Jeff gently pulled out his hand and joked with Pete, "You really here to eat? Would it be too cheap for you?"
He said he wanted to invite Pete to dinner but it was always out of time. The meal was delayed so Pete said that he would just eat it in the small restaurant.
He made an appointment tonight, just on a working day and there were not many people in the store.
"How can this be considered cheap? Jeff, your craftsmanship is not worse than those of the five-star hotel chefs." Pete laughed,
"Moreover, I feel ashamed of it. I was just in school for the little guy I can't help much if something happened."
Jeff shook his head and said seriously, "No, P'Pete. If it weren't for you, how could I buy this small restaurant. P'Pete, has helped me too much ah... "
Pete smiled and rubbed his hair," Okay. So how about the meal? "
Jeff put his hands on his hips, "Leave it to me! "
"Daddy! Daddy! "
Lil Rak came back. Before he comes in, Jeff saw him rushing into the store happily from outside holding a hamburger and then handed Jeff the hamburger.
The little carrot head was too short so he kept jumping around to feed him.
Jeff squatted down and Lil Rak delivered the hamburger to his mouth, "Dad, hamburger!"
Jeff took a bite and then returned the rest to him. Lil Rak took a bite, his mouth was full.
"Did Sky's grandma buy it for you?" Jeff pats the little guy's head. "Did you say thank you to grandma?"
Lil.Rak nodded vigorously.
"Then, tomorrow can I bring the little cake that dad bought yesterday to Sky and grandma?"
Lil Rak waved his hand, "There are cheese sticks too, can give it to Sky!"
Jeff smiled, "So generous! Awesome!"
Lil Rak laughed, Pete exclaimed, "You taught Lil Rak well."
Jeff didn't hear clearly but looked back at Pete, "What?"
"I said Lil Rak is so small but sensible and so obedient, you taught him very well."
Jeff felt sour for a while.
He looked up and smiled at Pete faintly, "P'Pete, thank you."
"Suddenly thank me for what?"
"It seems, this is the first time someone said this."
Jeff helped Lil Rak wipe off the sauce from his mouth. The voice said, "Too many things have happened recently which makes me always self-doubt. What you said, P'Pete makes me very happy."
Pete looked at him with great distress.
Jefg patted his son's cute ass, "Baby, can you play with Uncle Pete for a while? Dad is going to cook. What do you want to eat?"
Lil Rak was still licking his hamburger and he burped gently in his mouth. Still muttering, "Pineapple meat!"
"Okay, make pineapple meat! (sweet and sour pork)"
Jeff handed Lil Rak to Pete and went into the kitchen.
Pete is not a picky eater so Jeffr cooks at his will and Pete was stunned by the table, full of dishes.
"Okay, enough." Pete saw that Jeff had to go to the back kitchen again after serving a dish.
This seems like it's not over yet so he quickly stopped him. "The table is almost too much to fit. If you continue to make it, I may have to spend whole night eating."
Jeff glanced at the time. It was past eight o'clock and patted his head, "I've forgotten the time. Let's eat quickly."
As he was about to sit down, Pete suddenly remembered something.
He said to Jeff, "Jeff, let's change positions."
Jeff replied, "Oh, okay."
Pete sat down and glanced at the opposite side carelessly. As expected, Alan was still sitting in that position.
It is true that you won't find it if you don't pay attention, but Pete knew he was there so he could catch him at once after such a long distance.
"P'Pete, do you want to drink?"
Pete's eyes returned to Jeff, "Yes, can drink a little."
"Then I'll get it for you."
Lil Rak was so sleepy that he yawned after the meal was over, about ten o'clock.
Jeff also drank some alcohol. He is still a bad drinker. It was just that he was in a bad mood recently and wanted to use alcohol to relieve his sorrows.
However, he didn't drink much and got drunk. His face was blush red, and his eyes were a little confused.
"Jeff, I'll take you home."
Jeff was still sober and he shook his head, "It's okay. I'm not drunk. P'Pete, you should go back first, I will clean up the store and then go back."
"Jeff." Pete paused, and then whispered, "I still have something to tell you."
Jeff smiled and looked at him, "What you wanna talk about?"
"I thought about it, it seems that I haven't officially confessed to you before and I always can't find the right time." Pete looked at Jeff and said seriously, "I've been in my early thirties this year and have been in love twice. They all end up badly. They all say that I am very gentle to everyone but I don't take anyone special in my heart. Thinking about me, it seems like this is true but Jeff, you are very special to me and I want to take care of you. I want to cherish you and don't want you to work so hard. Jeff, be with me. Okay?"
Jeff did not expect that he would suddenly say such a thing and the drunkenness seemed to dispelled at once.
Pete is his only friend in this city. He is very grateful to Pete but the feeling is just grateful.
"P'Pete, I'm sorry. I really can't take care of this at the moment ..."
Pete's eyes dimmed instantly, "It's okay. I didn't think I would succeed instantly. I just wanted to tell you these things that I should have said it long ago. I've been holding it in my heart for a long time."
Jeff looked at him a little apologetically.
Pete just wanted to say that he didn't have to feel sorry for it and his eyes fell outside the restaurant.
Jeff kept his back to the door, naturally he didn't know someone stood there hesitating for a long time.
So, when the words came to his lips, they changed.
"Jeff, I want to know. Are you rejecting me because of Alan?"
"Alan?" Jeff frowned, a little dazed, "What does it have to do with him?"
