"But Alexa! We need you" Alex whines
"Alexander! I told you. I'm not playing that silly game with you. That game has only been heard of in Harry Potter books!" I yell back. "It's real though, please!!! You are the best person who catches that and all other positions!" He complains. "You mean seeker. It's seeker, dumbass! Plus I can't ride brooms. Witches don't do that!" I protest then remember what he's talking about. "And I'm not a witch!" I remind. "You are a quarter witch. I searched it up! And yes they do, when they want to!" He argues.
Really? "Alexander. You can't even fly the broom either" I remind "Yes I can. I'm 15% wizard!" He says. How the hell did he find out?! "No, now stop. I just came by to tell you, Lucas is going to present me to the Coven two days from today, and I want you to be there. You and the pack. I have to go. I have to inform the pack back in the west" I sigh as I get ready to leave.
"The ones we saved?" He asks. "Exactly," I say. "Oh. Alpha... Maddox, yeah him. He wanted to meet you, but I told him to go to hell. So will you play Quidditch!?" He asks and I hit him. "No! Gosh, Alexander. Give me the phone number" I say. He gives it to me and grumbles. I sigh and leave the pack house, waving to the pack. I dial his phone number on my phone. "Alpha Maddox speaking" I hear. For some reason, I blush, remembering when I kissed him on the cheek. Shit.
"Uhm. Alpha Maddox. It's Alpha Summers. First off, I want to apologize for my governor's actions. I had no idea" I apologize. "It's quite alright Alpha Summers," He says smoothly. "Please call me Alexa" I find myself saying. Wtf is wrong with me? "Well, then you can call me, Ryder. So Alexa. What was it that you needed?" He asks. I shiver. "I called to see what you wanted to speak to me for," I say softly. "Of course. I wanted to talk to you about an alliance" he says. My eyebrows raise. "Really?" I ask.
"Yes really. How about dinner at 7:00. I'll pick you up?" He says. "Sure. I'm actually at my mate, the King Lucas's kingdom" I say smoothly. That's when I remember my mate. "Good, I'll get to meet your mate before dinner. See you" he says and I forget what I was thinking. "See you Ryder" I hang up and smile. I get into my car and head off to give my invitation, then go home to shower and get ready.

"Hey, babe. Where are you going, all sexy-like that?" My mate mentions as he comes in. "Hey, babe. What do you mean sexy, it's business fancy" I reply, kissing his cheek. "Well you look sexy in anything" he compliments. "Thank you, baby. I'm going out to dinner with Ryder Maddox" I answer. He looks at me through the mirror as I'm putting on my earrings. "Isn't he one of the ones you went to... To his pack to get women?" He asks. I hear the annoyance. "Yeah him. He only does that to those who deserve to be punished for doing something out of rules. And I kinda get it because they should have known it was a rule. Well, he's taking me to dinner to talk about an alliance. He's bound to be here in some good five minutes. There. How do I look?" I say simply. Inside I'm like WTF, am I saying?
"Great. I'm going on a walk. Don't want your little friend to think I'm holding you back" he mutters. I look at him confused. "Lucas wai-" I begin. "I have to go" he cuts me off. I try to hold his hand but he shoves me off and I fall onto the bed. He looks at me with a masked expression and then uses his vampire speed to get out of the room. I feel a tear slip from my eyes when there's a knock. I wipe my tear and say enter to whoever is there.
"Alpha, Mr. Maddox, is here," June says. "Okay, thank you. Tell him I'll be down in a minute" I tell her. "Yes Alpha," she says. She leaves and I sigh. I stand up, fix my dress and my necklace. The necklace Lucas gave me. I take it off and flung it at the wall in raw anger. I pick up another simple necklace and put it on before walking down the steps. I look and see Ryder staring at me. I smile tightly. "Ryder, welcome" I smile softly.
"Alexa, may I say you look lovely. This palace is absolutely gorgeous. Where is your mate?" He asks as he kisses my hand. "He... Uh, he's very busy right now" I stutter. Just then we hear a scream and things flung hard. "Must be one of the pack or coven members. Sometimes they get into arguments. My mate ought to be sorting it out. Let's go" I say to him. Eager to leave.
"After you Alexa," He says. I smile and we go out

"What would you like to order Sir, Madame?" the waiter asks. "May I order for you Alexa?" I hear Ryder say. "Huh. Of course" I smile slowly and concentrate on the wine glass.

"What are you doing Alexandria!!? Mate is mad. Mate is not happy. Mate is sad. You are here with this... person. Mate is not okay! GO BACK TO MATE NOW OR I WILL!" I hear Dulce yell at me. "Try. I won't let you win" I say back. She's never been able to subdue me. "We will see Alexandria. Don't test me. I'm not one to be tampered with" she threatens. "Yeah whatever" As if she could ever do anything to me.

"Alexa?" I hear him say. I look up. "Huh? Oh sorry, my wolf was just talking about some things with me about my children. They can be very... naughty" I lie to him. "You have kids?! Why you look so young!" He says. Immediately I have to correct him.
"Oh. They're not mine. Me and L- my mate, adopted them. They are angels. But they can be a bit bad" I say quickly. "Well, they must be very happy to have such a charming and beautiful mother" He compliments.
I laugh and thank him. We talk for a bit more and then the food comes.
"Wow, this is delicious," I say. "I know! I wanted you to try something that I believe is a piece of heaven. Since I so rarely come here, I order it all the time" He explains. "Well, it's delicious. So what about the alliance?" I head back to the main reason we are here.
"Yes yes. Okay so, my pack is having some trouble with the rouges in the middle valley. Some of them have captured two of my men and one of my women who went with her mate. I need some help. And you have the best-trained pack" I blush lightly.
"Thank you," I say. "You are welcome. In exchange, of course, you may pass through my lands as I understand more of your pack extends to the other piece of land of mine" He states. "Yes. You are correct. It's a vast pack as I live in the kingdom, then where I originally was then, the one from the other pack that made me their Alpha" I explain. "That is incredible. You are beautiful, smart, and ambitious. I'm amazed" He again compliments.
I laugh and smile. Suddenly, I get a pain in my head. Shit, she's trying to get out. I make my barriers extra-strong but she tears them down quickly and without a blink. "Are you alright Alexa?" He asks. "Yes," I say, my breath hitching as I fight her. Suddenly, all the glasses in the restaurant break and water pours down and comes to me. It all comes to me and surrounds me. Shit. I fight her as much as I can. Before she gets full control, I push her back as much as I can. I stand up. "I have to go. The alliance is on. I'll have my Beta or Gamma send you the contract" I mutter. I run out of the restaurant and use my speed to rush back to the pack. I smile lightly but then I see Alexander glaring down at me from the window of my old study.
He shakes his head and leaves, shutting the curtains. I whimper and then run to the kingdom. I enter and run to the castle where I go in and all the staff looks at me. They quickly look away and I frown. I run up the stairs to see my mate. I go to our room and find it a mess. The bed shoved to the side, the vanity in pieces, the mirror is broken with bloodstains on it, the closet with clothes everywhere but none of Lucas. I run to my kids' room but they're not there then the girls... nothing. I run to my grandpa's room and find him. "Grandpa, where are my kids? The girls?!" I yell.
"Your mate took them. He was angry, he destroyed the room. He took them to the pack house. He explained what happened. I'm tired darling. Could you leave me?" He asks. "I... I... sure" I say quietly. I see the disappointment in his eyes and I feel tears coming out. I leave and head to the empty room. I cry. I hear footsteps and I walk to see Lucas. I run to him and try to hug him. He pushes me back. "What's wrong!? Why are you mad at me?" I ask. What did I do!?" I'm so confused!
"Alexandria step aside, I'm not in the mood right now. I would've thought you'd still be in your little dinner with Maddox" Lucas says coldly. "Is that why you are mad!? Because I had dinner with him!? It was a business!" I yell. Why don't they understand that!? "What's wrong!? Do you seriously want to know? That you like him, Alexa! That's what's wrong! Don't even try to fucking deny it! Don't! For any single business dinner NEVER, have you EVER... Listen to me, EVER dressed that pretty! You'd wear more conservative, more professional outfits! For him, you dressed as if it were a FUCKING DATE! You like him!" He begins crying and I look down.
"You took off the necklace I gave you, that you PROMISED, NEVER to take off! you were so happy to go out with him. you actually AGREED that what he does to his women of the pack is what they DESERVED for disobeying when you used to say no matter what a man should not harm a woman! I can't believe you, Alexa. I've never cheated on you ever. I've never even... just because I wanted to be my mate's first. For my mate to be my first. And now..." He falls silent... He never...
He moves me aside gently and heads to grab something from the boys' room. He steps out and passes me. He turns back and kisses me on the forehead gently. "I love you, but it's obvious you don't... I can't do this Alexa. I don't want you to break me. Goodbye Alexa. Enjoy ou- your home" He says as his voice cracks. He leaves and doesn't turn back again.
I whimper. I head to ou- my room and take off my dress and put on a shirt he forgot. I look at the balcony. I run and break the window. I jump from the balcony onto the ground, not thinking. I hear footsteps coming up the staircase and I hear a scream from someone. I ignore it and I just know my wolf will not let me shift. All my thoughts... I'm not worthy of such a mate. I land onto the ground and I grunt. I look up at the castle to the window and then run to the place I will stay forever... where nothing can harm me... or where I can't harm myself or others... Or even think about anything anymore for eternity.
