"Matteo come back here and stop chasing your brother!" I yelled after my son as I wiped Daniella's face with a napkin while Evelina was rocking Connor back to sleep.
"Mommy!" Matteo groaned as Daniel ran full speed at his brother, both boys tumbling to the grass as they began to fake wrestle. I sighed as I lifted Daniella and walked over to them.
I towered over my two boys and glared at them as both of them stood up, placed their hands behind their backs, and looked at the ground like the polite boys I raised them to be.
"We won't be coming to this park if you behave like this!" I scolded them, "I can't look after all of you! You need to stay in my line of sight so that if something happens Evelina or I can actually see it!"
"I'm sorry mommy. It won't happen again," Daniel said his head still lowered.
"It's fine I forgive you. Both of you. Now you can still play but don't go too far away." I said and went back to the bench and watched as Evelina continued to rock Connor in her arms.
"Why am I the only girl?" Ella asked, her blue eyes facing me, wide and curious.
"Because that's the way it is meant to be my dear," I informed her.
She nodded, "My brothers are bad boys!" She giggled.
"They are indeed, Ella." I told her.
After six years of being married to Brandon Hawthorne, we had four children. Matteo, Daniel, Daniella and Connor Hawthorne.
Matteo is a year older than the twins, Daniel and Daniella, while the twins are three years older than Connor who still enjoyed being a baby.
Brandon had hired Evelina to help me out with the four rascals as I couldn't handle them on my own any longer. They were a huge nuisance in my life but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Brandon still faithfully goes to work every day and returns to the palace he bought us at exactly five. His mother, Evelyn always helped with babysitting the kids when we needed space from them. Richard and Evelyn were wrapped around by all my children's tiny fingers. I guess they couldn't help it, my kids were quite adorable.
You may assume that I'm being biased as they are my kids, but I'm not. People always admire their beauty which they inherited from their father more than me. Connor was the closest to actually resemble me. Daniel, Ella and Matteo all resembled Brandon.
Brandon and I had also formed a small tight-knit group. We always have someone over which the kids enjoy as they get to play with little people around their age. Our group consisted of Perla, Claire, Nicholas, Hunter, Zoey, Angelo, Lissa, Mel, Alessio along with Brandon and I.
Perla and Nicholas had broken up but I still see her every now and then. She was a mess but had her cousin Emily comforting her while Nicholas himself was going to possibly die of alcohol poisoning. I do see Nick from time to time and he seemed to warm up to me which I'm happy about.
Melanie and Alessio were still dealing with losing their son Luciano who would have been a year older than Matteo but now had four other children. All of them were a year apart and had the same first letter of their names. Melanie had an obsession with them having the same initials so it turned out that her children's names were: Vincent, Vienna, Victoria and another male on the way whom was to be named Victor Jackson.
Claire and Hunter were now patching things up, I was absolutely shocked when I found a few things out about them. Hunter, Brandon, Alessio, Angelo and Nicholas seemed to have formed a friendship bond despite owning massive businesses and sometimes being rivals in business. The four men did a great job at leaving business matters at business and being friends at the friendly meet-ups.
For the past six years, Brandon has never failed to always make sure that my children and my own needs were met.
We hadn't had a huge fight in ages except for one massive fight over Matteo's future. Brandon wanted him to pursue business and take over Hawthorne Technology and run the tower while I wanted Matteo to have a choice. I wanted him to do whatever he wanted.
When Daniel was born, Brandon relented and agreed that they could choose whether they wanted to take over the company. One of them would have to step up while the other one would have a chance to do whatever he wanted to do. That way at least they would have a choice in some matters and not be pressured to fill a certain spot.
"Aunty Evelina! Aunty Evelina! Danny fell!" Matteo said running towards us. I placed Ella on the bench and ran towards my son who had haematic blood gushing out of his nose, pouring endlessly on the front of his grey Batman shirt.
Daniel began to sob when he saw me approach.
"Calm down Danny." I said and gently caressed his back, "Evelina get some tissues!" I called out to her.
Evelina placed Connor in his pram and obligingly brought over some tissues as she rushed to be by my side to hold Daniel's hand.
I wiped his face and nose gently before I tipped his head up and held it in place.
"If I didn't know my kids any better I'd say you have committed a crime Ashy at the amount of blood I am currently seeing," Brandon said as he approached us, Derrick his personal assistant following hot on his trail.
Stephanie had left the company and moved on to work with her mother who was making it big in the fashion world. Brandon hired a male personal assistant despite my reassurances that he could hire a female one.
"Daniel and Matteo were chasing each other and Danny here fell on his face." I said with a sigh.
"I hit a rock!" Daniel said as he touched his nose that was slightly bruising now.
"He face planted!" Matteo giggled but immediately went quiet when he saw the look his father threw at him.
"That's no way to speak or to treat your brother, Matteo. Apologise!" Brandon barked.
"I'm sorry Danny," Matteo said as his lips quivered and tears fell down his face. Matty was sensitive like me.
"It's okay Matty," Daniel responded.
"Brandon!" I hissed, "Stop being so cruel to him."
"He's a man. He can handle it." Brandon said stiffly.
"He's only five!" I gasped, "Look what you did! You made him cry."
"I'm sorry, Love." He whispered as he caressed Ella's cheek while I lifted her off the floor, "Matteo knows I love him." He said ruffling Matteo's dark hair, "How much does daddy love you, Matty?"
"A lot!" Matteo happily responded forgetting his previous tears as Brandon laughed and picked him up and placed a gentle kiss on his cheek.
"I love you, your mom, and your siblings so much that I can't say how much in words." Brandon responded.
"Woah!" Matteo's bright face lit up, "That's so much!"
"It really is." Brandon smiled.
"You're the best dad in the whole wide world!" Matteo said rubbing his muddy fingers on Brandon's cheek.
"Thank you, Matteo." He said.
"Can you carry me too?" Ella asked leaning out of my arms towards her dad.
Daniella, or Ella as we called her, was a huge daddy's girl. She never wanted to come to me when Brandon was around, she always wanted to go to him. I assumed because I was always around them while Brandon wasn't.
"Sure, sweetie." He said and grabbed Ella with his right arm while he held Matteo with his left.
"Where's Connor?" Brandon suddenly asked me. I looked at the bench where I had last seen Evelina sitting with Connor and gasped when I saw she wasn't there.
"He was with Evelina last!" I said.
"Where is Evelina?" Brandon asked scanning the area with her eyes.
"Do you think someone kidnapped them both?" I gasped.
