Chapter 1026 How Dare You Offend Her?
Janice was leisurely waiting in her villa for her arranged contacts to report back to her. Swirling a glass of red wine in her hand, she smirked. She was determined to teach whoever crossed her a lesson.
The doorbell rang, and with impatience, Janice went to answer it, ready to scold whoever was disturbing her. But the sight that greeted her left her stunned. âUncle Sebastian, Dane, what brings you here?â
Her uncle, Sebastian Freeson, gave Janice a cold look and said tersely, â Letâs talk inside.â
Confused, Janice followed them in, only to be kicked behind her knees the moment she stepped through the door. She fell to her knees in front of Sebastian.
Turning angrily to her cousin who had kicked her, she snapped, âAre you crazy, Dane? Why did you kick me for no reason?â
Daneâs eyes were filled with hostility as he retorted, âConsider this mercy. Be thankful I didnât kill you as an apology.â
Janice retorted, âWhat could possibly be so serious as to warrant taking my life? Wait until Grandpa hears about this; heâll beat the crap out of you!â
Dane scoffed disdainfully. He had always been irritated by Janiceâs troublemaking ways, and now she had caused a significant problem. âGrandpa is on his way here. Heâs going to teach you a lesson and kick you out of the Freesons.â
Janice was shocked; she hadnât expected the situation to be so grave. Her grandfather, who seldom left Loxton due to his age, was coming.
âUncle Sebastian, is what heâs saying true? Grandpa is coming to punish me? âJanice asked, her face ashen.
Sebastian nodded with a stern face. â Janice, youâve caused a disaster this time.â
Dane added irritably, âYouâre going to destroy the Freesons. We will pay for what youâve done.â
Had only Dane said those words, Janice would have dismissed it. But seeing even her uncle share this sentiment, she truly began to panic.
âUncle Sebastian, whatâs going on? I havenât caused any trouble lately, and I havenât offended anyone!â Janice said.
âJanice, be honest with me. Did you mess with someone named Audrey?â Sebastian inquired.
Janice paused upon hearing Sebastianâs question. âAudrey? Sheâs just an actress, whatâs the big deal?â She didnât understand why Audreyâs name was mentioned.
Dane became anxious at her nonchalant tone. âYou fool! Yes, Audrey is an actress, but donât you know her family runs the well-
known Swann Corporation in Casier? Their influence is no less than ours.â
Janice was aware of this, but her arrogance had always blinded her to the consequences. âItâs just the Swann Corporation.
Dane, youâre exaggerating to say they could bring down the Freesons.â
âYouâre a goddamn idiot!â Dane couldnât help but criticize Janiceâs thoughtlessness. âNot only is Audrey the daughter of the Swanns, but she also has a sister, Catherine, whose husband is Branden Duncan. You might not know Catherine, but surely youâve heard of Branden and the Duncansâ reputation, right? How dare you cross the Duncans? Youâre digging your own grave!â
Dane paused for a moment and continued, âBranden visited Grandpa tonight. Do you realize now how serious this matter is?â
The mere involvement of Branden and Catherine was a nightmare for the Freesons, not to mention Audreyâs intricate connection with Triston.
Janice was familiar with the Duncansâ reputation but had no idea Audrey had such powerful backing. No wonder her grandfather had to come to Casier.
At this realization, Janice clung to Sebastianâs leg in panic. âUncle Sebastian, what should I do now?â
