Lu Wanwan’s mother for these past few days had been consumed by anger. She was so angry her mouth was full of foam.

After dressing herself up dazzlingly with jewels, the Lu mother rushed to her husband’s office in great fanfare.  Naturally, she had a matter to handle, since the last time her daughter had said she wanted to divorce Shen Yi, she had been waiting for so many days, yet her daughter’s divorce certificate was still nowhere in sight.

Her son had secretly told her that their father did not agree with his sister’s divorce, and this time, Lu Wanwan’s mother was really enraged.

Seeing his wife, Lu Wanwan’s father welcomed her into his office, while feeling confused. He asked, “Honey, why did you come over ?”

Lu Wanwan’s mother swept two glances at him, and glared at him as she unpolitely said, “Why did I come over? Isn’t it all because I’m so angry with you !?”

She couldn’t help but reach out and grab his ear, saying with dissatisfaction, “Tell me how many days has it been, where is our daughter’s divorce certificate? Have you eaten it? I’ve been waiting for so long for my daughter to get a divorce, and yet you want to stop it? Is your daughter not your own child? How come you’re treating her so badly ?”

These past months, Lu Wanwan’s mother had been ridiculed a lot by her relatives. Before, they used to laugh at her daughter for not marrying well, but recently, these few days, Shen Yi seemed to have done something remarkable, for people started to hold him in high regard. However, the Lu mother wasn’t less mocked for it, each one of them were saying in a cynical way that their family was shamelessly hanging on to people without letting go.

Lu Wanwan’s mother wasn’t good-tempered, and when she heard those words, inevitably she felt upset in her heart. After inquiring later on about it, it seemed that the fatherless and motherless Shen Yi now had a backer ?

But then what about it? The Lu mother had sharp eyes and had always felt, all along, that Shen Yi wasn’t a good thing.

“It hurts, hurts, hurts, you’re really hurting me when you pull my ear like this.” Lu Wanwan’s father grimaced and shouted.

Lu Wanwan’s mother grunted twice, let go of his ear and pointed at his nose, “You tell me, what are you capable of doing ? The fact that our daughter wants to divorce, this kind of wonderful occasion, why are you stopping it ? She is beautiful, young and loveable, are you afraid she won’t find another man? After they divorce, I can make him suffer a loss.”

Lu Wanwan’s father couldn’t take it anymore and yelled, “Do you really not know who Shen Yi is?”

The Lu mother’s eyes were wide-open: “Isn’t he just, just, just an illegitimate child who has been recognized ?!”

She persisted stubbornly and added, “He’s just a b***ard, he can’t make any wave, you just have no eyesight!”

The Lu father was now dead-angry with his wife, he furiously said: “Who told you that he’s a b***ard? He’s the legitimate second young master of the Shen family.”

Lu Wanwan’s mother thought she had misheard and asked, “The Shen family? Which Shen family?”

“Is there any other Shen family?”

Lu Wanwan’s mother couldn’t quite believe it, “You’re not fooling me, are you? How is this possible?”

Lu Wanwan’s father puffed as he sat back in his office chair. Raising his eyes, he asked, “You didn’t do anything to him, did you?”

Lu Wanwan’s mother cheekily said, “I didn’t.”

She didn’t dare to tell him that this morning she had even rushed into Shen Yi’s company and made a huge scene. She spoke vehemently and every sentence she said was harsher than the previous sentence.

For example, “Why don’t you take a look at what kind of thing you are”, “Are you even worthy”, “You better quietly sign the papers and scram”, “Don’t waste my daughter’s youth,” “To be a man, one has to know his worth.”

Lu Wanwan’s mother didn’t know exactly how many of such sentences she had said to his face.

Shen Yi stood there, letting her scold him, without retorting even a word. He waited until she was tired from scolding him, to invite her out, with a smile on his face.

With such a contrast, the Lu mother felt like she seemed like a shrew.

Her temper exploded and she had refused to leave, dead or alive.

She had pointed at him, directly at his face, and started scolding him again.

Lu Wanwan’s father believed her words and said with relief, “It’s good that you didn’t do anything. Think about it, I’m also doing it for the good of our daughter ah. After they divorce, what if he retaliates against Wanwan? That idiot Lu Zhouzhi is a useless bum, he can’t protect his sister.”

Lu Wanwan’s mother nodded, feeling that her husband had a point: “You’re right, Lu Zhouzhi is indeed a useless thing.”

What kind of product their son was, both parents were clearly aware inside their heart.

“I’m not trying to get any advantage out of Shen Yi, I just hope they can live well together now.”

After thinking about it for a moment, the Lu mother was persuaded by his words a little. In front of this huge monster that was the Shen family, their Lu family absolutely wasn’t their opponent. “Okay, then I’ll stay out of their business for now.”

“Good ! And next time you see Shen Yi, be more polite to him too.”
