Chapter 200: A little glimpse into his master plan (1)
It was a dark, empty place, and a woman was lying on a cold floor. Suddenly, a ray of light shone upon her, and her eyelids fluttered. That bright light instantly vanished as soon as she woke up to consciousness.
It was dark once again.
The woman slowly tried to sit up but a sharp pain shot from her body as if she was severely beaten up everywhere. But more than her body, she felt as if her heart was ripped into pieces. She felt hurt in her chest.
She didnât know why.
She stood up with some difficulty and looked around her, but all she saw was a vast, barren place devoid of any sign of life.
It felt so coldâ¦and lonely.
She started walking with her broken body, her every step hurting her terribly.
Then as she walked a little farther, she saw a picture appear out of thin air as if a movie was playing.
It seemed like a memory to her.
A little girl was cheerfully running behind a boy who was quiet and serious and who didnât seem to bother with her. Nevertheless, the girl didnât deter and kept on following behind.
âLook at my drawing. The boy is you, and the girl is me.â She giggled. âAnd you are my holding my hand.â
âHm.â The boy gave a simple, noncommittal response.
âDo you like it?â She shyly asked with a faint blush on her cheeks.
âHm.â
A sense of disappointment flashed past her eyes, but the little girl quickly got over it and smiled again.
Somehow, the womanâs heart clenched in pain, seeing the boy ignoring the girl. She once again felt that numbing pain in her chest.
The memory disappeared just as it had suddenly appeared.
The woman waited, but nothing seems to happen.
She started walking again, and another fragment of memory flashed before her eyes. The boy and girl were now in their teenage.
âHappy birthday! Here is your gift.â
The boy indifferently said, âI told you not to bother with any gifts. Iâm not interested in them.â
âPleaseeeee. Birthday comes once a year. Of course, it has to be special.â
She was excited about his praise. It was a tie where she had painstakingly stitched the first letter of his name.
But the praise never came.
The memory changed to where the girl one day saw her gift unopened, still wrapped as a gift. The boy didnât even check what was inside.
The girlâs eyes rimmed in tears, but she quickly wiped them.
âItâs alright. He said he doesnât like gifts, yet I forced him.â
A tear trickled down the womanâs cheek. She wondered why the hurt felt so familiar.
Then another memory came by.
The girl excitedly said, âI like you. Will you-â
But the boy didnât share the same excitement. âIâm sorry. I only see you as my friend.â
The girl froze, and her smiled faltered.
The woman broke down in tears.
Then came a lot of images. Time quickly passed by, and she saw the girl growing into a woman, never failing to confess her love, but always getting the same answer in return.
No.
The woman couldnât bear it anymore. She felt her chest constrict in pain, and she collapsed, her eyes shutting down into unconsciousness.
â
Both father and son settled down in the private bar that Liu villa had.
Liu Hai poured him a glass of top-notch whiskey and said, âI heard the AV media company fired the female reporter who tried to slander Nana in the press conference.â
Jinhai merely glanced at him.
âNot only that, somebody vandalized her house. The men scared her a lot with guns and knives to never show her face here again, and so she was forced out of Beijing. The poor woman must have been so traumatized.â He sighed. âAish, you are soâ¦â
Jinhai calmly took a sip. âIâm your son. I have learned this from you.â
Liu Hai harrumphed. âPlease donât insult my teaching! You couldnât do such a simple thing right. You were too forgiving. Had it been me, that reporter wouldnât have shown her face in the whole of China.â He looked at Jinhai in disdain. âAnd you kicked her just out of Beijing. Pah! So pathetic.â
Jinhai shook his head.
âBut I will forgive you since your master plan worked out so beautifully.â Liu Hai slyly looked at him.
Jinhai raised his eyebrows. âWhat do you mean?â
âDonât act so innocent, son. Iâm your father. I was able to understand you since the days when you were just a baby who only knew how to talk âba ba ba.'â He chuckled. âDid you think that I wouldnât understand your game?â
He said nothing.
âI must say you played well. Suyin, Jianyu, and Huian, you managed to clear them out of your way just like how you wanted them to.â
âReally?â
âOf course. Step by step, you stirred them in such a way that everything exploded in Chenâs banquet. It became the night of decision. Ah, how I feel bad for Liling. That banquet was very, very important, especially for you, even more than Nana and Jianyu themselves.â
âWhy?â He rested his cheek on his palm as he casually asked.
Liu Hai smirked. âLetâs see. Two women made a plan to trap two victims that night. Was it a coincidence that both of their plans failed?â
He said nothing.
âWas it a coincidence that the victims conveniently ended up spending the night togetherâ¦the same victims that happen to love each other?â
He said nothing.
âWas it a coincidence that just when there was no hope of your divorce, we came to know that Nana is pregnant?â
He said nothing.
Liu Hai smiled. âThat Chen banquet night
â¦you already knew she would get pregnant, donât you?â
