By the time Di Ling Yan managed to make it out into the main battle sight, the first scene she saw was her old man falling down from the sky and crashing to the ground.
âPapa...â Immediately, the baby girl burst into tears and cried out, pushing herself to toddle unsteadily to the manâs side. She didnât think twice, doing the only thing she thought she could do and that was to cut her own finger again to let the blood drop. âDrink Papa, blood, please hurry and drink some...â
âLing Yan...â Di Cangâs faint voice sounded hoarse when speaking, but it paled in comparison to the tense pain he felt when seeing his own daughterâs action. He would never ask this from the girl, nor want her to bleed for him. âItâs okay Ling Yan... I donât....â
Unfortunately for the demon king, his plea only made the baby grow more desperate, which in kind made Di Ling Yan squeeze her finger even harder to push out more blood. Nevertheless, the added effect of the magical blood did help sooth the poor manâs health somewhat. Itâs not very effective, but it did give a flicker of power back into the demon king, just enough for him to stop panting like heâs about to die at any moment.
Di Ling Yan didnât know whatâs happening of course, all she knew was that her blood didnât have the usual effect of instantly healing the patient. Turning to the bird man behind herself: âUncle Winger, what is happening, why is my blood not working? My blood is usually more useful than motherâs alchemic pills, why is it not working on Father...â
Shaking head in a helpless manner over the girlâs tearful face, âPrincess, the king.... heâs like this not because of an injury, but because he expended too much power...â
Regarding the consequences of overextending oneâs power limit, Winger didnât want to say it because it would only hurt the demon baby even more. Even so, Di Ling Yanâs instinct told herself it couldnât be good, and that was enough.
Di Cang also knew the consequences of his own actions and what it meant if thereâs no help from a outside source, but as a father, heâs more worried about calming his precious daughterâs mood than his own health. Reaching up to wipe some of those tears, the demon kingâs complexion continued to grow worse.
âWhy?â Grabbing her old manâs hand in the process, Di Ling Yan cries upward towards the sky like sheâs speaking to the heavens itself, âWhat wrong did I do? Why do these people want to hurt me?â Her helpless voice only added to the pathetic nature of such a plea because everyone here understood thereâs no such thing as fairness in this world.
In a timely yet unwelcomed moment, Keeper Ling Yanâs pompous and arrogant voice cuts in: âHahaha, Demon King Di Cang exhausted himself in order to ruin my sword, and now his daughter came running out on her own volition, fate really is on my side!â That said, the old grumpy elder continues to grin but had locked onto the baby girlâs presence, âLittle girl, donât worry, I will give you a painless death when I take your life.â
Di Ling Yan didnât care what others had to say though, all she did was cast her eyes downward at her own man like sheâs in her own little world. Nevertheless, the muttering response she said told everyone sheâs well aware of the situation: âMy life is given to me by Mother. I may be small and donât understand much about this world, but I know enough that aside from my mother, no one else can demand me to die!â
She may be childish and young, but the girlâs words were more than enough to make Keeper Ling grind his teeth in hated anger, Why are all of Bai Yanâs children like this, so lacking in virtue and teaching? Just like her mother, this demon princess is so selfish and arrogant, she doesnât give one care about the world!
