After testing herself and discovering sheâs pregnant, Bai Yan has gotten into the habit of taking naps whenever possible. Sadly, regardless of how much she sleeps, that endless fatigue just couldnât go awayâ¦.
âThis little one in my tummy, it canât be a lazy one right?â Rubbing her own abdomen, a faint smile slowly evokes out of Bai Yanâs face.
If not then how else was she supposed to explain her current condition of being so sleep prone?
âMother, its fine if my little sister is lazy. If she doesnât want to walk then Iâll carry her. If she wants to sleep then I will keep her company. If she doesnât want to eat then Iâll feed her. You mustnât ditch her just because sheâs lazy.â
Out of fear for Bai Yan abandoning the unborn baby, Bai Xiachen hurry to beg in place of his expected sister.
âBut what if itâs a little brother?â she asks with amusement all over her voice.
The little steambun didnât reply right away. Only after a long musing did he come up with an answer: âThen I will break his leg if he gets lazy! Or Mother can toss him away and make another sister instead is fine too.â
Three black lines literally appeared across Bai Yanâs forehead. This little guy, isnât he too bias?
Scraping the boyâs nose in a doting manner: âDidnât you say you want a little brother to help you manage the Demon Realm?â

A puff of mushroom smoke explodes out of Bai Yanâs head right then and there. For a second, sheâs discovered how difficult it would be for her second child if itâs really a boy. Itâs going to be bad enough having Di Cang and this little steambun being so gender bias, but thisâ¦. this was too much!
âButâ¦.â A really sweet smile comes off of the boy as he reached up with his hands to touch her belly, âthe baby will definitely be a sister! Little Sister already told me sheâs coming so it canât be anything else.â
Finding how stubborn her son was about the gender, Bai Yan knew its pointless to argue. Pinching the kidâs cheek: âAlright, alright, itâs a little sister like you say.â
Gleefully showing his teeth in that smile, Bai Xiachen began to swing his motherâs arm around as he spoke: âMother, I will properly teach my little brother when you get one in the future, I will teach him how to protect my little sister together.â
âOkay, your little sisterâs safety will be in your hands.â Greatly enjoying herself as well, Bai Yan tickles her boyâs nose before giving her following instruction: âXiachen, go call Dragony and them over. Oh yes, call Mo Li Shang (handsome youth) as well.â
âOkay, Mother.â With a pop, the little steambun sneakily gives her face a kiss before running off with his little legs in the other direction.
Watching her sonâs behavior, Bai Yan just couldnât resist a chuckle as she rubbed her own belly. I wonder how disappointed he will be if this child is not a girl?
