Episode 21: "Moving In"

(Briar’s POV)

I never thought I’d be moving in with someone at eighteen—let alone with my fated mate, who happened to be a ridiculously powerful Alpha.

But after everything that had happened—the possession, the near-loss of myself, and Olivia quite literally bringing me back with a kiss—there was no other choice. Olivia refused to let me stay alone, and honestly?

I didn’t want to be alone anymore.

---

"You're what?"

My mom stared at me, her coffee cup frozen halfway to her lips. My dad, usually calm and composed, frowned from his seat across the dining table.

I shifted awkwardly. "Moving in with Olivia."

Dad's brows furrowed. "Already? Briar, you just turned eighteen. This is a big step."

I groaned. "Dad, it's not like I'm moving across the country. She's the Alpha. The pack is literally a few miles from here."

"You’re still our daughter," Mom said firmly, setting her cup down. "You’ve been going through a lot, Briar. Your transformation, learning about your wolf, dealing with…" She trailed off, eyes softening. "Everything. Are you sure you’re ready for this?"

I hesitated. Was I ready?

But then I thought of Olivia—her touch, her scent, the way she made me feel safe, grounded. The way she looked at me like I was her whole world.

"Yeah," I said quietly. "I am."

Mom exchanged a glance with Dad.

Dad sighed. "We trust Olivia, but we just… we don’t want you rushing into something you're not prepared for."

"I'm not rushing," I insisted. "This is my choice."

After a long pause, Mom stood up, walking over to me. She cupped my face, her gaze searching mine. Then, she smiled softly.

"You really love her, don’t you?"

I swallowed. "I think I do."

Dad groaned. "I was hoping to delay this whole my-baby's-in-love talk for a few more years."

I smirked. "Too bad, old man."

He shook his head, but there was a small smile tugging at his lips. "Alright. You have our blessing. But if she hurts you—"

"She won’t."

"And if she does," Mom added, giving me a pointed look, "you always have a home here. Understood?"

I nodded. "Understood."

Arriving at Olivia’s House

Olivia’s house was massive. Not in a flashy, billionaire way, but in an I’m-an-Alpha-who-needs-space-for-my-pack way.

It was a gorgeous cabin-style home nestled deep in the pack’s territory, surrounded by thick trees and quiet wilderness.

As soon as we stepped inside, I felt it.

Comfort. Safety.

Home.

“You okay?” Olivia asked, watching me closely.

I exhaled, nodding. "Yeah. Just… it feels real now."

She stepped closer, brushing a hand against mine. "It is real. But we’ll take it one step at a time, okay?"

I nodded again, my chest tightening with something warm.

I was really here.

With her.

---

To make things less awkward, my parents came over for dinner that night. Olivia, being the perfect host, had gone all out—grilled steaks, roasted vegetables, even some fancy wine for my mom and dad.

"So," Mom said as she cut into her steak, "Briar tells us you’re giving her a room upstairs."

Olivia smirked. "That’s right."

Mom raised a brow. "Separate from yours?"

Olivia didn’t even hesitate. "For now."

Dad choked on his wine.

I groaned. "Olivia!"

She grinned, clearly enjoying my suffering. "What? I’m just being honest."

Mom chuckled. "I like her. She’s direct."

Dad, however, looked like he was reconsidering this whole blessing thing.

By the end of dinner, though, the tension had eased. Olivia was charming when she wanted to be, and even my dad begrudgingly admitted that she was a "decent Alpha."

When my parents finally left, Mom hugged me tight. "Call if you need anything, okay?"

"I will, Mom."

"And be safe," Dad muttered. "Emotionally and physically."

I flushed. "Dad, stop."

Olivia, the menace, winked at him. "Don’t worry, sir. I’ll take great care of her."

I shoved her inside before my dad could strangle her.

---

(Olivia’s POV)

I had every intention of taking things slow.

But the moment Briar kissed me—like she needed me—I lost all sense of patience.

We barely made it to my bedroom before she pulled me down on top of her, her hands threading into my hair, her legs wrapping around my waist.

"Briar—"

"Don’t stop," she whispered, eyes burning with something raw, something desperate. "Please."

I would never deny her anything.

I kissed her again, slower this time, savoring the way her lips moved against mine. My hands explored her body, not crossing any lines but still memorizing every curve, every little sound she made.

She shivered as I trailed kisses down her jaw, her fingers digging into my shoulders.

For a while, we just stayed like that—kissing, touching, holding each other. It wasn’t about taking things further. It was about us, about feeling connected in a way words couldn’t describe.

When she finally curled into me, her head resting against my chest, I felt it in my bones—

She was mine.

And I was hers.

---

The Morning After

I woke up before her, tangled in the sheets, her body curled against mine.

Her scent was everywhere—on me, on the pillows, in the air.

I never wanted it to fade.

She stirred, mumbling something incoherent, before slowly blinking up at me.

I smirked. "Morning, trouble."

She groaned, burying her face in my neck. "Too early."

I chuckled, running a hand down her back. "You’re the one who wouldn’t let me sleep."

She peeked up at me, lips curving. "Regretting it?"

I flipped us over, pinning her beneath me.

"Not even a little."

She laughed, pulling me down for another kiss.

And just like that, I knew—

This was exactly where we were meant to be.
