âLisa... Lisa?â Little Yichenâs warm smile greeted her as Lisa opened her eyes groggily. She sat up nervously and backed up against the wall, staring at him warily.
âWhat do you want?â She looked out of the porthole and realized. Rubbing her eyes, she asked, âTime to change shifts?â
âNo!â The boy winked at her mysteriously. âI found treasure.â
The girl followed Little Yichen to the deck. She had no idea where he found a charcoal stove, but after lighting the fire, he had set up a sheet of wire netting over it. On top of it sat two large fish. As they were grilled, they emitted an alluring fragrance!
âFish?â
âUh huh! I just donât know what kind of fish it is, but going by the looks of it, itâs edible.â
Lisa frowned. Indeed, not only was the fish meat tender, it was also suitable for grilling. However, some marine fish are poisonous and couldnât be eaten.
Lisa walked over and identified the fish. She often sailed at sea, so she recognized it at once.
âThis is chum salmon.â
âChum salmon?â
Little Yichen did not know what chum salmon was and only cared about one thing.
âIs it edible?â
âOf course. Idiot.â Lisa sat down on the deck and asked curiously, âHow did you catch this fish?â
âI found a fishing net and caught it just like that.â
Beneath the calm surface of the sea, a school of fish happened to swim by and the boy caught them easily.
Lisa looked at the various seasonings beside the stove and asked suspiciously, âWhere did these things come from?â
âFrom the store.â Little Yichen smiled smugly. âI was rummaging through the store closet to see what I could find, but I smelled pepper. I found these condiments and a sheet of metal netting in the cabinet. Since there were these things, there had to be grilling equipment, right? I rummaged through again and found this stove in the corner.â
After listening to this, a realization dawned upon Lisa. A foodieâs capabilities are limitless! However, thanks to Mu Yichen, this little foodie, they were able to eat meat while drifting out at sea!
Lisa sat down, took one look at the fish, and quickly turned one side over so that it wouldnât burn. Little Yichen brushed oil over it again. Just the smell of it made him restless.
Lisa complained, âYou said you encountered a school of fish. Why didnât you fish more?â
âUh... I caught a few and the rest escaped.â Little Yichen said helplessly, âI donât know how to fish. Itâs rare enough that Iâve been able to catch two such big ones!â
âThis size is considered small among chum salmon.â
â...â Little Yichen had no way out of this embarrassment.
âBesides, if itâs grilled fish slices, itâll be even more tender.â
â...You seem to be very experienced in this.â
Lisa raised her brows and said, âI didnât know we had all these equipment. Otherwise, Iâll show you how I can fish a bunch.â â...â Little Yichenâs ego inevitably suffered a setback! He felt that Lisa simply excelled at everything!
Lisa glanced at him and surprisingly explained, âI used to fish when I was training on the island.â
âOh.â Little Yichen glanced at her and suddenly asked curiously, âActually, Iâm not sure if I should ask this...â
âHuh?ân/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
âAsk away,â Lisa said with indifference.
