Salem could not help but wonder, âDid David choose to go into seclusion at this time because he knew the two families would come?

After he sighed on the inside, Salem got up to get ready to face the powerhouses from the Campbell and Marche families.

Egan was shocked.

âDid you find out who David is then?â Agatha continued asking.

âMayor Salem, stop pretending. You know why weâre here. David is inside, right? Hand him over. This has nothing to do with your family,â Egan shouted.
He had to be the one who spoke first.
It had been five days since the incident and yet the Campbell family did not do anything to David. This caused Agatha to be suspicious.
If he did not take the initiative to do something, Agatha would suspect him.
âDeputy Mayor Egan, David is indeed inside my residence, but because of some reasons, I canât hand him to you for the time being. You can come back tomorrow and when the time comes, I wonât interrupt you,â Salem answered.
âSalem, I hope you can be clear about whatâs happening right now. Have you thought of the consequences of your representing your family to go against the Marche and Campbell families?â
âI never want to go against you two, but I promised David that Iâll protect him for one day. It has only been half a day and I canât go back on my promise. Moreover, my actions only represent myself and it has nothing to do with the Birch family.â Salem decided to go all out.
