âMr. George, your efforts would be better focused on the companyâs shareholder meeting which is in
ten days. Thatâs when the Hayes Corporation will announce its reorganization to the public. I hope you
will not let Mr. and Mrs. Tsurka down then.â
With that, the Jetroinian turned and left.
Solomon was stumped.
After a long while, a loud bang was heard from the presidentâs office, as if something had been
smashed onto the ground.
The noise terrified everyone outside.
Two days later.
Sasha had received the huge amount of funds that Andy had sent. In her excitement, she went to see
Sabrina at once.
âIâve gotten the money. Have you convinced your dad?â
âI tried, but he disagrees!â Sabrina replied bitterly.
Disagree?
Why would he do that? Does he really intend to lose Hayes Corporation to someone else?
Or perhaps, he is blinded by the trust he has for his bast*rd son?
Sasha fumed, âWhy? Didnât you make it clear to him?â
âI did!â
âSo why doesnât he agree? Isnât he going overboard with this? They are both his sons after all. Must he
draw a line between them?â
âHuhâ¦â
Sabrina felt equally indignant but had no other ideas.
As Hayes Corporation was a listed multinational, any transfer of shares required the consent of its
largest shareholder.
So, whatâs the point in raising so much money?
Sasha felt disheartened.
âPerhaps, I can steal his seal and ID,â Sabrina quipped out of desperation.
Steal?
That might work.
With hope burning brightly within her, Sashaâs eyes lit up. âIs it possible?â
Sabrina knitted her eyebrows. âIâm not sure, but I can try. Why donât you come home with me? That
way, you can keep a lookout.â
Sasha fell silent as she wasnât sure whether to agree.
She had never stolen anything in her life before and was naturally worried about getting caught. We
would be finished!
âIâ¦â
âLook, you keep insisting that youâre doing all this for my brother. But yet, why are you turning me down
when Iâm only asking you to keep watch? Iâm the one thatâs stealing, not you. I would be the one held
responsible if we get caught.â
Before Sasha could finish, Sabrina ranted away.
Sashaâs face turned pale in response.
Iâm not afraid. I just think that this isnât well thought out. In fact, it might even jeopardize all the work that
we have done.
In the end, both of them headed to the Hayes residence.
âOh? Dad isnât home. What a coincidence!â
They were delighted to see that Frederickâs Rolls-Royce wasnât there when they arrived.
Sasha heaved a sigh of relief.
In truth, she was afraid of entering due to her awkward status. Although she was a daughter-in-law of
the Hayes family, her husband had been kicked out by them.
Hence, she quickly followed Sabrina inside.
The moment they entered, they were surprised by the atmosphere.
Unlike in the past where it would always be lively, the house was so quiet that it felt deserted.
âWhat happened here? Why is your house so empty?â
âWhy are you even surprised? Robert and his mom moved out while my cousins have refused to visit
after my dad chased Sebastian out. So, wouldnât it naturally be quiet?â
Sasha was dumbfounded.
Sabrina meant Ethanâs children.
Sasha had assumed they were simply leeches who lived off Hayes Corporation.
Hence, she was surprised to see them stand by Sebastianâs side at the crucial moment.
Meanwhile, Sasha followed Sabrina inside.
She had assumed that they would be heading for Frederickâs bedroom. However, she was surprised
when Sabrina led her past it and went to the backyard instead.
âWhy are you going that way? Isnât your dadâs stuff in his room?â
âOf course not. How can one leave something so important in the bedroom? It must be in the memorial
hall.â
âHuh?â
Sasha was stunned.
Memorial hall?
Isnât that the place where they keep items belonging to their forefathers? Why would those things be
there?
Sasha didnât get it.
However, she would have understood if only she knew that only a member of the Hayes family was
allowed to enter.
Furthermore, the memorial hall wasnât just an ordinary building. It was enclosed on all sides.
Downstairs was where all the photos and portraits were placed while the upstairs was a lot more
complicated than she could imagine.
Knowing her way around, Sabrina led Sasha toward the building entrance.
âAlright. Itâs somewhere here. You keep a lookout at the door while I search the inside.
âHuh?â
The small building send a chill down Sashaâs spine.
My God, is she really going in there?
Arenât we not allowed to enter this place?
When she first moved in after she got married, Frederick had clearly forbidden her from going in there.
Hence, no one was allowed to even straddle near the place.
Therefore, despite staying there for a year, she had never even gone near the small building.
But now, Sabrina was going to steal something from inside.
When Sasha tried to grab Sabrina by reflex, she was too late.
