After making a phone call, Royce spoke up, “She came in as Brenton’s companion. We checked the surveillance footage, and she was wearing a mask at the time, claiming to have a cold. She was personally brought by the third young master of the Herman family, and the security guard at the entrance couldn’t insist on her removing the mask.”

“The Herman family?” Robert furrowed his brow.

Royce replied, “The explanation given by the Herman family is that Brenton has been abroad all these years and only returned home this year. He was unaware of the woman pursuing Lenny.”

Deandre’s voice raised a few notches, “What’s the deal with Lenny’s pursuer? Our child hasn’t provoked her, and she’s been kidnapping and stabbing people. This is just outrageous!”

After a moment of silence, Robert looked at Mariela again, his gaze sharp.

“What happened on the rooftop, Marie? How did Lenny get injured?”

Mariela lowered her head and said, “It was all my fault.”

Rayne looked at her sharply, “Marie, what do you mean by this?”

Mariela told the story exactly as it happened.

Bella blamed with a tone, “So Lenny took the stab for you?”

Mariela pursed her lips tightly, “Hmm.”

Bella frowned and said, “Mariela, you were too impulsive. We had already called the police and there were also security guards in the mansion. Couldn’t you have waited a little longer? If it weren’t for your impulsive actions, Lenny wouldn’t have been injured for no reason.”

“I’m sorry, Bella. It’s all my fault,” Mariela said with difficulty, burying her head even lower.
